This neighborhood is bordered by a national park and just steps from the beachfront, making the Cottages at the Cape perfect for your family's next vacation! Nestled within a beautiful resort village on Hatteras Island, this vacation rental is one of the closest suites to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. Inside, the home has been completely renovated with new paint, furnishings, and flooring, bright from the natural light streaming in through the living space windows. Use the free WiFi to research a fun new recipe to experiment on and get cooking in the full kitchen to create something special for tonight's family meal.

A stroll will take you right to the beach. After a day in the surf, you can use the suite's outdoor shower to spritz away the sand before coming home to kick back on the living room sofa to watch a good show or movie on the TV or head outside to the screened porch to read a favorite mystery novel. Don't forget to bring the family bikes, because Buxton's shopping, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close.

Forget the 4WD vehicle because three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will get you to the open beaches and the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, you may pass a few sea turtle nests - just give them some room by staying outside the barriers!

Guests will have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on the weather.

Loved the house!

We loved the house- the location was great. The furniture was really nice and comfortable. Only disappointment we had was that the beach right out from the house was closed, but a couple minute drive got us to a nice spot. We would definitely rent again!

Nice home, pool is MILES away

The title of the listing says "with pool", when in fact the pool is miles away in a different location, at Club Hatteras. We did not use the pool due to this inconvenience. The house and neighborhood were quiet and clean with a view of the Hatteras Lighthouse nearby. Overall, a good stay, but we would have preferred knowing the house did not have a pool, just access to a community pool that is NOT within walking distance.

Cute Buxton House

We stayed here for 4 nights the last week of June. The weather was beautiful, though surprisingly very hot! The house was located in a cute town in the southern outer banks. It is not super touristy, but we enjoyed the quietness of the location. The neighbors were quiet in the early mornings and late evenings and were all friendly. The beach is recently re-opened and is a very short 3-5 minute walk, though careful for the prickers in the grass between the condos (wear shoes). The waves are also very big and brutal, so beware! The house was perfect! It was a cute two story and when you were in the bedrooms, you could not hear people on the first floor. It is a condo, but you could not hear the neighbors either. We had no issues with the condo, and the check in/out instructions were very clear. The only thing that was not clearly put in the listing is that the pool is not on the property. It is a little less than 10 minutes down the street. The picture makes it appear as though it is located on the immediate property. Still close enough to come and go as needed if necessary, but easy to make trips to it. We will definitely be back, and I will be referring friends and family to this location in the future!

What a perfect "spot" for the k9 family. It was so refreshing to feel so welcomed with our guys. The stairs were a little much for our 15yr old so we had to carry him up and down but we're happy to do it. Someone mentioned hearing the neighbors but we didn't find that to be true and even discussed it with them outside about how great the sound insulation was. The beach access is closed due to cleanup, but other than that it was perfect. Great views from the enclosed back porch as well.

Spot at the Cape - Buxton NC

Overall the home was great. Clean, open, lots of space for a group. My only complaint is that Vacasa failed to disclose that the public beach access (Buxton Beach Access) that you can walk to was closed by the National Park Service indefinitely because of a petroleum spill. If you make it down to the beach anyway, you're faced with the smell of petroleum. Otherwise the property is great.

A walk to the beach!

Had a great time. The home had so much room for all of us. It was located on a quiet culdesac with a park and a short walk to the beach. The screened porch has a slight ocean view and a great view of the Hatterras lighthouse; a nice place to sit and drink morning coffee. The sound, restaurants and market shopping was a short drive. The home is also a short drive to the Ocracoke Island Ferry. I do wish check-in was a little earlier and check-out was a little later.

Stayed in this very beautifully located place by the beach. We where 7 ladies all of us had amazing time. Very super quick responses make everything easier to do for us. And keyless entry was very easy. Thank you so much hosting us. Will for sure love to stay again.

Nice house

House and location were good. It’s just a short walk to the beach. Guests should bring their own trash bags and detergent and be prepared to sweep and mop. Also the pool that is referenced is in a different town/island so not convenient for this homes location.

Just right

Situated in the shadow of the winking eye of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, this house was everything promised. It's only about a 5 minute walk to the beach. It is a great location whether you want to fish or sight see on the lower part of the Cape. You'll find the house very comfortable and extremely clean with lots of space. Be aware that all of the bedrooms are upstairs. I can't say enough about the outdoor spaces. The front porch is shaded most of the day and you can sit and watch the birds, read a book or just nap. When the sun heats up the front porch, just move to the back screened in porch. It’s a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine as the sun begins to set and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse begins its nightly sentinel duty. We brought Rosie, our 70lb. golden doodle and there was plenty of space in the upstairs master bedroom for a large crate or dog bed. After a brisk walk in the quiet surrounding neighborhood or the beach, she enjoyed just chilling on the porch. Thanks for making this pet friendly. There are plenty of places to have a meal in the immediate area (Diamond Shoals, Orange Blossom (don’t miss this one and their Apple Ugly), Pop’s (a local favorite). It’s a brief drive to Avon, Frisco, or Hatteras Island. Tavern on 12 in Frisco became one of our favorites as did Sonny’s (breakfast) located in Hatteras Village. We highly recommend the quick trip to Conner’s, the local grocery. We found their selection superb and prices very competitive. I use Vacasa a lot and this is was another wonderful experience. We found them to be quite responsive.
