StoneHouse vid Duck Lake var handgjord av Montana-låtskrivare, David Walburn, som en privat tillflyktsort för friluftsentusiaster, vandrare, fiskare, jägare och miljövänliga resenärer.

De som uppskattar den vilda skönheten i Montanas östra sida, kommer också att uppskatta den enkla hantverksinriktningen till detta unika rustika hem med utsökt utsikt över glaciärparkens berg.

StoneHouse sitter på en vacker naturskön ås med panoramautsikt från Cut Bank Plains till Chief Mountain och är centralt beläget för att snabbt komma åt St. Mary's and Many Glacier-ingången till Glacier National Park.

David designade och byggde StoneHouse med gröna byggnadsmaterial för att förbättra dess hållbarhet och energieffektivitet mot det vilda östra Montana-klimatet. Han har nyligen lagt till en bastu för att hjälpa våra gäster att koppla av från en dags utomhusäventyr

StoneHouse huvudnivå har två sovrum:

StoneHouse huvudnivå rymmer max sex personer.

Huvudnivån Badrummet är en enkel uppsättning med handfat, fåfänga och dusch / badkar combo. *** Observera att vi är på hårt vatten och badrummet har naturliga "fläckar" av mineralvatten från vår brunn.

Köket är fullt utrustat med kylskåp, diskmaskin, mikrovågsugn och köksutbud. Vi har alla köksfaciliteter för att skapa en underbar måltid för familj och vänner. Den öppna planlösningen i huvudrummet är perfekt för anslutning, konversation och matlagning!

Se djurlivet från våra stora bildfönster i huvudrummet och se lumar, älg, älg, björn, grebe, salvis, hökar, grävlingar, amerikansk pelikan, ugglor, rävar, möss, vargar och mer.

Stunning views & excellent location!

What a unique experience in a stunning setting! We loved our stay at Stone House! Communication with the owner was excellent. Cabin was very clean and provided a convenient, comfortable home base for our East Glacier and Waterton adventures. During our stay, we enjoyed lots of hiking in parts of East Glacier, Two Medicine, Many Glacier, and Waterton National Park. Stone House is very close to the East entrance in St Mary and to the entrance at Many Glacier. It’s only about an hour to Two Medicine and 45 minutes to Waterton. We hope to stay again the future!

Peaceful, quiet cabin with great views of Glacier NP

A very peaceful, relaxing vacation, unconnected from the outside world. We enjoyed it very much. The cabin had all the amenities necessary for a relaxing stay. St. Mary’s is close enough for all the last needs. We highly recommend the Stone House for a stay to explore Glacier NP.

Excellent Location!

Stone House is well situated for exploring all that the East Glacier area has to offer. Convenient to the Many Glacier entrance and only minutes to the St. Mary Visitor Center (and Going To The Sun Road) and the Two Medicine entrance. A well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and bedrooms were waiting at the end of scenery packed days spent inside the Park. Thanks David-we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful views

This is a beautiful house in a quiet, peaceful location. It is a great place for exploring Glacier and Waterton. The lake and mountain views make you want to just sit and look out the window. The basement is spacious but a little unfinished.

Beautifully remote escape in the Montana wilderness

Loved staying at this cozy cabin. The house was clearly built for temperature control and staying warm even when the wind was blowing. Kitchen amenities were robust allowing us to cook meals as a family while spending time together. We were conveniently close to the Saint Mary and Many Glacier park entrances. The surrounding scenery was absolutely breathtaking.

David Walburn - Montana Singer•Songwriter, avid outdoor enthusiast, fly fisherman, hunter, hiker, skier, and homesteader. From 1999 to 2014, I worked at the historic Many Glacier Hotel as a resident musician, performing acoustic concerts for Glacier Park guests. I have lived in Montana for over 30 years and it's here that I feel most at home. Four of those summers were spent working nights performing and the days building the StoneHouse. It has been my mission to build something unique that people will enjoy, appreciate, and, hopefully, wholly experience this amazing landscape with its vast and beautiful wilderness. This is not your cookie-cutter vacation rental. It is meant for those who have an adventurous spirit and a love of the American West, especially Montana!

Varför värden valde detta boende

My wife and I have been summer campers on Montana's east side for over 20 years and have fallen in love with its rugged beauty and wild landscape. We created a space - a traveler's rest - that blends with this landscape. My wife and I realized that this space should be shared by those adventure travelers who want a different lodging experience other than the usual motel/hotel. It is meant for those who want to explore off the main highway, unplug from modern life for a while, and appreciate the native country and culture of Montana.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Our family enjoys waking up at The StoneHouse wondering what the day's adventure will bring. We have caught mammoth rainbows on a fly rod, rode the float tube on endless quests searching for the perfect swimming hole, took the spotting scope for bird watching, bear spotting, and star gazing. We have gone on endless hikes into Glacier, had some banner kite flying days. In the winter we have trekked in snow shoes, sledded across the Duck's Head, skijored, ice fished, wrote kids songs, talked with owls and star gazed for hours, even experiencing the Northern Lights on occasion. What will your adventure be?
