The host Max was so sweet, we were there for our wedding & he came back with a bottle of Vue for us. He walked us through the house & the house was just as beautiful in person. The view from the master bedroom & outside patio was post card beautiful. The most amazing sunsets. The house has an open floor plan & is absolutely perfect for multiple families. It’s walking distance to all the shops in Encinitas. We live in Carlsbad and will definitely be back for this house!

Moonlight Beach Retreat

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is fantastic. Incredible views, sunsets, and conveniently located to one of the best beaches anywhere - Moonlight Beach. Additionally, it is conveniently located to many shops and restaurants. In two weeks I barely drove anywhere.

Great views, house is outdated, dirty and in disrepair

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had several issues with the home during our short 5 day stay. The final issue ok our last night had us up until 1am(broken AC in loft). Also, the "room" with the bunk beds is just a loft sunroom, no doors or window covers. The master shower has moldy tile floors, the blue couch in loft appeared to be recovered from a homeless encampment, PlayStation was broke, washer and dryer were broke so forced to use the one in the garage bedroom which was a hassle. Soap was 1/2 full bottles of VO5 hot oil from the dollar store. Overall I wouldn't recommend the house, the views however are unreal. Property managers were responsive and as helpful as they could be but the homes condition seemed to be a challenge for them.

Poor management

I asked if we could check in a few hours early and was told that we could not because they were making sure everything was perfect for our stay and I respected and appreciated that. When we checked in we were greeted by the property manager with bare feet full of sand and was told he had just gotten done with surfing. The listing says (and manager confirmed) you get the entire house and it does list the square footage on the VRBO listing. It is not the entire house . We had quite a few issues, and looking at another person’s review, they also had these same issues. We had a washing machine that did not drain and were told by the property manager that he knew about this, and they forgot to get it repaired. The second washing machine only runs on HOT water so I did not use it in fear it would ruin my clothes. The AC in the main floor had gone out so that needed to be addressed. The wall unit in the loft was out as well—- we were told that would be exchanged out the next day which never happened. The first floor room adjacent to the garage did not have AC at all so no one wanted to stay in there because it was so stuffy. The best part of the stay was not being able to keep your sliding glass balcony doors open because of the pigeons!!! The pigeons all perch on the house roof next door and one decided to fly into my room! So trying to get it out was quite comical. The grill didn’t work and since it was the 4th of July, no one ever got back to me.

We work diligently to ensure everything is in working order prior to every guest's arrival but on occasion, maintenance issues may arise. We have had both laundry rooms serviced, as well as the home's HVAC system. We have also clarified our in-home guide to improve the instructions for the home's amenities, as we want every guest to have full use of these during their stay. We certainly hope we have the opportunity to provide you with an enhanced stay in the future.

We planned a last minute family holiday weekend and this was the perfect location. Almost on Moonlight Beach, super convenient. All necessities were supplied. Plenty of beach equipment as well. The home is set up perfectly for entertaining and relaxing. The only less than perfect issue was the upstairs A/C, the downstairs stayed very cool but the upstairs struggled and was a little stuffy, even with windows and doors open. It was a minor inconvenience, overall an amazing home!

Great Views, but Disappointing; 2 real bedrooms, not 4.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in a great location, and kitchen/living area, and 2 of the bedrooms were excellent. BUT, the property boasts 4 bedrooms and the listing insinuates you rent the whole house. There are only 2 usable bedrooms; one other "bedroom" is a loft without a door, closet or window coverings and another's door is literally accessed through the garage, in the basement level. It has high-set, opaque windows and so no real daylight and no view. One-third of the actual house is locked off as an owner's apt. Also, there is a resident skunk (!) on/near the property; we saw it 3 times, once when it crossed the backyard at sunset. Would not stay at this property again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was gorgeous and we all had the best time. Small things would have been helpful... more than one garage clicker. Since that was the primary way to enter the house, a few clickers would have made it easier since we were always all together. We may have missed a code to enter though. The house definitely needs a hot water tea kettle! It was a cold February weekend and we drank a lot of tea and are tea drinkers in general. Maybe a general kitchen inventory should be done. It'd be easy and affordable to add a few small things to make a stay a little more convenient.

There are a lot of stairs in the house. Kitchen and Barbecue were fantastic. Master bedroom is amazing. There are three balconies to enjoy the view of the ocean and the beach. The only real complaint is the mattress in the second bedroom and the bunk beds were not great. Probably need to be replaced. The pictures of the place do not do it justice. It's in a great area with a ton of restaurants and shopping a very short drive away. It is an awesome, amazing house and we will be back next year.
