Aside from a couple of small notes, this was an overall pleasant stay with a kind and communicative host. Because of some travel delays, it was nearly 10 pm when we first arrived, and yet the path to the door was helpfully well-lit with motion sensing lights. I couldnât get the door open, but I messaged the host, and he promptly came outside to help us, and supplied us with a new key. That being said, as this is a basement unit nestled underneath the hostâs family home, there were a few periods of notable overhead noise. This is to be expected with a basement unit, kind of like having upstairs neighbors, but worth noting for future guests. Another thing is that the kitchen was well stocked with equipment like a blender, toaster, pot for cooking, as well as dishes and utensils, but it was not as clean as it could have been, with a bit of visible food left in the sink, and some grease on the dishes that were in the cabinets. The bathroom was in one of the bedrooms, so those in the other room couldnât use it without disturbing the others. It also had no hand soap, so itâs lucky that one of my friends had brought a bar with her. There were, however, plenty of soft towels available for use, the beds were very comfortable, and the house was in a nice neighborhood with easy access to everything we needed. We had a wonderful weekend at our friendsâ wedding, and were grateful to have this cozy place, especially after our previous booking was canceled without notice.
