Outstanding Property

Exceptional sound view and location within a short walk to Duck shops. The house and amenities provided by the hosts are top drawer. The hosts have provided their guests with every amenity they could possibly need or want to ensure their guests have a relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. Five Star without question.

Great vacation home

So relaxing and quiet. The sound had so few boats - tons of birds. Beautiful home, fantastic ocean, and a wonderful OBX retreat.

This home is great for families. Tons of room and perfectly located on the sound. Beautiful views and accessible to lots of activity. Short walk or drive to beach.

Currituck Sound sunsets

Property was very clean and comfortable. Owner answered emails promptly. Would stay again. If you are a stargazer, light pollution all night (!) from the nearby Sunset Grill pier is an issue. Location is very convenient to all things Duck!

Great sound location in Duck

Perfect home with four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths all on one level. Great access to the sound, ocean, and pool Close to town, but very quiet.

Lady B’s to the Beach!

There were 6 of us ladies and we have unanimously decided this is our destination of choice for each summer! The house is spacious and perfectly laid out. Well stocked kitchen and Ella is the most gracious hostess! Beautiful views and everything close by!

This house was perfect for my family (six adults, 1 toddler) - we loved the short walk to the Duck boardwalk and easy access to the beach, and the Sound views were stunning. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots, pans, etc. and we enjoyed eating on the screened-in porch.

Beach Week with the kids!

Mild temperatures for the end of July in the OBX with daily or nightly rain. Great beach, sound and pool weather. Beautiful sunsets on the sound on the evenings with no rain…you can’t beat the view! Our son and grandson enjoyed crabbing and kayaking the sound. The Croatoan is the best!

Wonderful Thanksgiving get-away

Croatoan was a wonderful place to spend the holiday with our family. The home is spacious and the flow of the floor plan allows for quiet sleeping quarters. Best of all, though, was the view, with the sound visible through windows all across the back of the house. A great experience all around, and we would rent again!

Duck 2023

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious, with everything we needed to enjoy our beach vacation. Views from the back deck are amazing. We enjoyed dinner outside on the screened porch. Access to the sound to kayak was very easy. We will definitely stay here again.

Croatoan Beach Stay

Amazing view

Plenty of room. Within walking distance of Duck shops. Beautiful view of sound from back deck, right on the waterfront. Easy walk to ocean side as well. Property was clean and ready for occupancy on arrival.

A little piece of heaven

We were 5 sisters excited for our yearly get away. This year we chose the Outerbanks. We were thrilled with our choice upon arrival to Duck, NC. The house was a perfect fit. Comfy, cozy and all on one floor. We were one big happy family. Kayaking was a highlight. Being able to float right off the property into the sound. The sound side vs the ocean side was a great choice. You can lose yourself in its serenity.

Amazing property and location for a perfect vacation!

We stayed at Ella’s property in August 2023. It was 4 adults and 2 kids and we had more than enough room in this house. The house itself is beautifully maintained and has everything that you might need, including a well-stocked shed outside with beach chairs, umbrellas, a wagon, and even a small cooler. The location is great, quarter-mile walk to the boardwalk and easy access to town center. The community swimming pool is also easily walkable and we used it a lot. The community has a nice private beach access on the Shoreside. The community also organized a barbecue by the pool one day of the week which we enjoyed. The highlight, however, was the expensive back deck with the most phenomenal sunset views every evening. We made sure to be back every evening and have dinner out on the back deck, did not feel the need to go anywhere to catch the sunset. Could not have had a better spot to spend a week and unwind.

Quite and Spacious.

Even with being on the "main drag" through Duck you would never know it. This property sits on the sound and when you are on the deck you are a world away from anything else. The house was very clean, very spacious and well laid out. The side porch was screen in which was a nice touch. Bicycles were available along with a kayak, beach chairs, and cleaning table for your catch of the day. They thought of everything. You are within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Fresh cut flowers were lovely. We had a question so we texted the owner and within a couple of minutes we had our answer, talk about customer service, it just doesn't get any better .Of course the big question is, would we stay there again, Most definitely. Some day we hope to bring our grandchildren to the Outer Banks and this house will be filled with laughter and plenty of memories.

Peaceful!

My husband and I took our first week long vacation with our one year old and this was the perfect house for it! The house was so clean upon arrival! All one floor living, so no stairs for us to keep her away from. The beds are very comfortable. We especially appreciated the view of the sound each morning and night and how close it was to the town of Duck where we walked for groceries, donuts, etc! All of the kitchen items are top brands - kitchen aid, breville, all-clad which was very nice since we cooked the entire week instead of going out to dinner. We can see how so many families return to this home year after year! The only negative I can even say is we were surprised that we had to buy toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. Everything else you would need was there though! The walk to the beach was a little bit longer than we thought too on this side of the island (about a half mile) but still manageable! Parking was easy if you don't want to walk!

We live in Columbia, MD. My husband is a structural engineer and I am an anesthesiologist. We have two daughters, one lives in Vancouver and the other is a registered nurse in Baltimore, MD. We all love the beach and water sports.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We discovered Duck over 20 years ago and kept coming back every chance we got. We always rented a house on the sound side because we love to windsurf and it was easy to access the water. We love our location in Duck because of the beautiful sunsets on the sound, and it is only a 10 minute walk to the beach. Ships Watch community has great amenities
including a great pool and tennis courts.

We enjoy the sound side location of our house.The sunsets you can watch from the deck are incredible!
The Sunset Grill Restaurant is a close walk from our house and Tommie's Market is very convenient for shopping.
Attached to the Sunset Grill Restaurant is a Jet Ski and Parasailing rental place.
