Beautiful and Relaxing Getaway

We had eight (8) in our group, a mix of adults, older kids and younger kids. We were able to share the spaces in the house for the most part, though the main area did need additional seating when we all wanted to watch a movie together. The kitchen was fully stocked, and I mean fully stocked. Beds were comfortable and all the rooms had adequate space for our bags and things. There are two kayaks and two river floats under the deck. They were used constantly by our kids when they weren't fishing. The grill worked perfectly for burgers and brats. There are tons of DVDs and a basket of fun games. A few notes for future guests: house is about 5 min away from Dollar General, 20 minutes from Food Lion, 25 min from local Brewery/Coffee house and restaurants, 10 Min away from Mexican restaurant and boat rental (on the public side of the lake). A few things could have made the trip more enjoyable: (1) Information upfront about the linens (I didn't know linens weren't included until I read the first review two days before we left). (2) How to lock and unlock the front door. We had the hardest time getting that lock to work. (3) Where to put trash at the end of the stay (and a much bigger trash can), and trash pickup schedule. (4) Faster responses to messages/inquiries. Would we go back? Definitely, most definitely.

Beautiful, secluded property, but…

This was a lovely home on a beautiful, secluded lot on a quiet cove. We were a group on a girls trip and enjoyed coffee on the deck and floating and kayaking in the lake. The house was clean and comfortable…would be perfect for 4-6 people. Though it sleeps up to 10 people, the family room only sits 4-6 comfortably. Would definitely recommend the property with a few items being pointed out, since the information was not provided in the listing. It’s a new home, so hopefully they are still working on communicating all the details. Home has no WiFi and cellular reception was spotty (Verizon) or no reception (T-Mobile). There was a link in check-in that said "If you haven't received instructions for Wi-Fi, message the host here." The only reply when we asked was, "No ma'am." A few days before check-in, we received a message that the house had no linens and to have them supplied, it would be $125. This information was not in the listing, but I guess we should have assumed that linens were not included? Usually a listing will be more transparent. We received sheets for the beds, 6 bath towels in total, and one hand towel per bathroom. That's it. So if you pay for the linens, bring extra towels, and washcloths (none provided). There was no information book at the house and no communication on what to do when leaving, so we hope we closed down the house as they would like. These items are included not to deter anyone from renting this lovely home, but to give a heads-up.
