This home has been recently remodeled and furnished by an interior designer and features 16' sliding doors opening to front and covered back decks for truly indoor/outdoor living and is a serene, relaxing home with a leaning to Asian aesthetics. The primary bedroom, with queen bed, opens to the back deck and the master bath features a large shower with two shower heads. The guest bedroom has two twin beds and the guest bath has a tub/shower combo. Not suitable for handicap access due to steep interior stairs. Maximum stay: 4 nights. No children under the age of 5 years. No pets including service animals due to severe allergies. Exterior camera at entrance. Central heating and a fireplace keeps guests warm in cooler months. Sit on the front deck in the morning sun, enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the birds in the redwoods!

Owner, at times, stays in separate downstairs unit that has its own entrance. You will not even know they are there unless there is something you need! Maximum privacy for guests in main house!

Located at end of county road with no access to private community beach. However, many beaches near by including Sunset. Guerneville, Healdsburg, Sebastopol, and Santa Rosa are located near by.

Wonderful Stay

The property was extremely nice - probably the best vacation rental I have ever stayed in. It was very quiet. The house was well equipped, especially the kitchen. There were great outdoor spaces for relaxation. The host had several recommendations for restaurants and wine tasting which were spot on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be pleased to stay there again.

Tranquil getaway in Forestville

Our family had a perfect stay in this modern, clean home set in a vacation neighborhood in Forestville. The open space and comfortable furnishings, along with attention to detail everywhere, was so appreciated. The host was communicative and helpful throughout our stay, and provided extras like beach towels and coffee. We enjoyed the peaceful outdoor spaces and the updated bathrooms. An added plus is that the home is easy access to many area attractions, including Russian River beaches, Sonoma vineyards, and great hiking. We would definitely stay here again!

Tranquil Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this Modern Home nestled in the woods. The tranquility of the surroundings was just what we needed to unwind. The house was cozy, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The host was responsive and made sure we felt right at home. Great stay

We had a great stay! We have family across the street so we’re in and out of the house all day and the location made it perfect. We’ve been going to SHP for 25 years and love it so much, we are thankful to have a wonderful place to stay close to our family!

Relaxing time in Sonoma Valley

My husband and I had a great stay in Forrestville. The house was beautiful and clean with all the expected accoutrements. I hiked the area multiple times during our stay and the neighborhood is restful, green, and hilly. The host was responsive and helpful.

Very nice place

The house was very nice and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay. It is a very peaceful and beautiful house. I would caution people who have not lived of visited these types of communities to be prepared for a challenging drive in and out of the community. Be courteous to other drivers and always be prepared to yield to on-coming traffic at a moments notice. We did not have a chance to enjoy to clubhouse, which was just a couple houses down from this location, nor the beach or river, but it all looks spectaular and inviting.

Amazing Stay!

This home is a gem. It felt like we were in a giant tree house with lux amenities. The location was so private, yet so close to all the amazing Russian River things to do. We tasted wine at several wineries, we paddle boarded down the russian river, enjoyed downtown Guerneville and Forestville. The host was easily accessible and we highly recommend!

Terrific hideaway, quiet and peaceful

Loved your Zen Retreat! We will come back in the summer time to open the full length glass doors on either side of the living space. I'll bet it is just delightful to be in the cool redwoods at that time of year.

Great Getaway

This wonderful house was a great getaway as it was located amid trees and just a stone's throw from the Russian River. I would definitely check the weather before you go as the power can go off for extended periods.

Great house!

The house was amazing and a perfect size for 4 people. It was well equipped with all kitchen supplies. I would say that their list of rules was extensive in a binder upon arrival. I would request that prior to the stay to ensure it aligns with your stay desire. I would also be aware of the roads closer to the house being less maintained and had less lighting at night.

Precisely as listed

We had a nice stay at this property. The host was very responsive and helpful with local suggestions. The property is exactly as described in the listing. A few notes for future renters: 1. The road to the property is a 1.2 mile single lane twisty and turney ride in. There are a few turn offs along the way. Fortunately, the few times we met an oncoming vehicle we were near a wider section of road (only had to backup once and not very far). It certainly is scenic, just be aware that in places the road is tight especially if driving a larger vehicle. 2. As mentioned in a different review, there is no TV in the main living area. While this wasn't important to us, if it is to you, be aware of this. There are TVs in the bedrooms. 3. While we can't be sure if the host was actually in the downstairs unit, we did hear what we thought was the shower early mornings. It's a nice place with a very responsive host! A peaceful spot with nice outdoor places to relax.

Special House by the River

Basha is a great host, and her house in the middle of the woods is so quiet and beautiful. It is close to great wineries, and to mother's beach, which is great in a warm afternoon. We are sure we will come back someday.

Wine Country Getaway

Basha was a great hostess for the weekend, and had everything we needed, including coffee fixings. The rooms were comfortable, and the home was in a great location for wineries and area restaurants. Highly recommended!

House was very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. The initial listing didn’t mention no TV in main living. Not a problem, but if your avid sport fans would be nice to know before hand. Also, the requirement of no shoes in house.

Great host in a beautiful property

This is such a beautiful property nestled in a resort area well off the main roads. It's absolutely quiet at night and relaxing. While it's quite the drive down a single lane road that is not the smoothest, it's worth the drive. In the evenings, the plum tree out front attracted deer from the area forest, so we had great wildlife sightings each time we came back. We used this as a base for some wine tasting, which is a bit of a hike to get to, but it was great to come back in the evenings to get away from the towns of Sonoma. Basha was a great host and had excellent winery recommendations!

Lovely, serene, quiet home

I had a wonderful 2-day stay here with my sister. She worked from the house (strong WiFi signal) while I did some house-hunting in the Russian River Valley. We opened the sliding doors on both sides of the living room, and lounged on the comfy outdoor furniture. This made for a spectacular and relaxing couple of evenings. We also made dinner in the super well-stocked kitchen, and slept well in the beautifully decorated bedrooms. Thank you Basha for a lovely stay that exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful & Comfortable house

I wish we hadn't been so busy with family so that I could have enjoyed sitting out on the incredible deck more. The house is clean and has every comfort of home, including a well stocked kitchen. The decor and furniture is beautiful and inviting. We really enjoyed our stay.
