Located beneath the live oaks of historic downtown Wilmington, above a bed of butterfly bushes and jasmine, this brand new 1 bedroom 1 bath carriage house apartment is 4 blocks from the Cape Fear riverwalk and 2 blocks to the Castle Street Arts District, located on a quiet block, and convenient to all local attractions. This well appointed carriage house unit features a 55" flat screen TV with streaming apps, high speed Wi-Fi, full kitchen with dishwasher, Keurig with complimentary coffee, tea, and and hot chocolate, dining area, premium bedding, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Living room includes a pull-out queen sofa bed with comfortable memory foam mattress. Stocked with board games and puzzles. Located behind the main home, the upstairs carriage house apartment has contact-free, keyless access. Wake up to beautiful views of church steeples before exploring the historic district with wonderful restaurants, craft breweries, and antique dealers, or venturing out to nearby beaches and wineries (stocked with beach towels and chairs). And bonus - the apartment is dog friendly for bringing along your fur baby (dog towels and some treats provided!) Everything was perfect. Second time we were here and it was just at good as the first time if not better. Clean room, brought our dog and was like he was at home. Restaurants, shops, and bars are all in walking distance. The room was meticulously clean and all the amenities you can think of. I travel a lot for work and this room is much better than any hotel and by far the best VRBO I have stayed at.

perfect stay in great location!

my teen daughter & i traveled for a mother/daughter trip with a friend and her daughter and we loved our stay here! the carriage house was the perfect size and located in walking distance to downtown. we enjoyed walks checking out the historic homes in the neighborhood and never felt unsafe. biggest perk: well-stocked amenities like toilet paper, not just one roll that runs out mid-trip :) thanks for being fantastic hosts, would definitely stay again!

Great Hideaway

We had a great 4-night stay at Butterfly Hideaway. The neighborhood is very quiet but close to restaurants, stores, the riverfront and historical sites. We found this place perfect for us and our little dog. Would stay again if we’re in Wilmington again.

My husband and I loved staying here! The place is immaculate and lovely. We’ve never stayed at a VRBO that was so thoughtfully appointed and configured as a guest house for both humans and dogs. The neighborhood is lovely, great for walking, and so close to the Boardwalk area. Thanks to Bobby and Wayne!

Amazing gem a stones throw away from the Historic District

Had a wonderful four-nite time stay at the carriage house run by Wayne and Bobby. They thought of every little detail to make our stay worry free. The kitchen was fully equipped, the beds extremely comfortable, and there were even toiletries in case we forgot something as well as bones and doggie bags for our pups.

Great place, location and host!

Our children stayed here with their 2 dogs over Thanksgiving break while we celebrated with family in the area. The carriage house was immaculate, cozy, well stocked and in a great walking distance to downtown and the riverfront area. The host was very gracious to allow earlier check-in and the opportunity to stay a little longer past check out if needed be. I would definitely recommend this property!

We had a fantastic experience at this property! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated everything was. Perfect weekend getaway!

Located on a quiet street in the historic district, the Carriage house is a short walk to the boardwalk and restaurants. The house was very clean and perfect for a couples get-a-way. Beaches, Fort Fisher and other attractions are a short drive. We would definitely stay here again.

As dog-parents, we understand the challenges of finding pet-friendly travel accommodations, especially for large dogs.
