En charmig stuga med tre sovrum belägen på toppen av en kulle i maritim skog med avskildhet, komfort och 1200 fot gångväg till Roanoke Sound. På övervåningen Jack and Jill bad. Koppla av på däck vid solnedgången eller kajak på det grunda vattnet i Roanoke Sound.

Det är en perfekt semesteruthyrning att besöka Roanoke Island och stränderna i Outer Banks. Denna unika restaurerade stuga ligger i slutet av en privat väg i en maritim skog. Kryssa längs cykelvägen (cyklar möblerade av ägaren) som går längs korridoren på Roanoke Island. Besökare kan njuta av Manteo-vattnet, Island Farm, NC Aquarium, The Lost Colony och The Elizabethan Gardens. Roanoke Island, centralt beläget, ligger på sundet väster om barriäröarna i de yttre bankerna. Vackra stränder och det nya akvariet på piren ligger inom 10 minuters bilresa till Nags Head. Utforska de norra stränderna för att se vilda hästar vandra, ta dig söderut till ön Ocracoke med färja eller ta resor till statsparken, privata konserver eller nationell djurliv.

Den första våningen har trägolv i vardagsrummet, matplats, fullt utrustat kök med rostfritt stål, kylskåp i full storlek, mikrovågsugn och diskmaskin och ett härligt sovrum med dubbelsäng. Ett badrum med tvättmaskin och torktumlare ligger bredvid sovrummet. Den andra våningen har två sovrum, en drottning och ett med två sängar fästa med ett badrum. Sängkläder ingår. Två mycket stora däck med utsikt över bergen. Hemmet rymmer sex personer.

A great second stay here at the cottage! The hosts are wonderful at providing everything you need, from kitchen supplies to extra blankets, and especially the kayaks & paddleboard. Our family of 5 has loved staying here, the privacy is so nice to just relax & do as you please, and the location is perfect with plenty of restaurants on island or just 20 minutes puts you on either direction of the OBX. Hands down we recommend the cottage, you won't be disappointed!

Really enjoyed our stay! The only hiccup we had was that the GPS took us down the wrong road and we had to just type in the street name to finally find the property. Other than that it was a great place to stay, very private, very clean, and spacious.

Excellent stay!

We loved staying at the cottage on the hill! It is even more beautiful than the pictures. The private beach was so nice with our toddler. We kayaked, paddle boarded, and walked out to the sandbar. We saw many birds and an eagle near by. June was so kind and helpful! I would absolutely reccomend this cottage to others.

Cottage on the Hill

This was an amazing place to stay. It had everything you need inside and outside of the house to make your visit complete. This beautiful home was the perfect vacation spot and Manteo has so much to do. The combination of the both made it wonderful trip!

Family vacation 2025

A unique and hidden gem in Manteo. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck, surrounded by the sounds of nature. The walk to the sound was a short 3 minutes, and our youngest child (10) thoroughly enjoyed it. We didn’t need to bring anything but a suitcase. Thanks again!

Family get away

We had a great stay! We enjoyed bike riding, the hike to the sound and playing on the little beach. We enjoyed visiting Island Farm, downtown and going over the bridge to Jockey’s ridge.

Simply wonderful!

Everything you could want, except crowds. Tucked down a quiet lane, the cottage is well-stocked and very pretty. It had plenty of room and comforts for our party of 4 middle/senior aged. There are lots of stairs to get to front door and beach, all well-maintained.

Cottage on the Hill Review

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cottage on the Hill! The cottage is beautifully decorated and comfortable. It is nestled on a hill with a tree line deck and the sound is just a short hike through the woods. The town of Manteo is quaint and there are paths for walking and biking. We would love to come back soon!

Perfect for families

The cottage is spotlessly clean and the perfect space for our family of grandparents, parents, and two boys (7 & 10). The lovely path to the sound is an adventure for the kids, and the private beach offers a lovely view and safe swimming for all of us. The ocean beach is a short drive away when you want to experience surf. We especially enjoyed the two spacious porches, and ate our meals outside daily. We spotted eagles, pelican, fox and box turtles, making our stay quite an adventure. Local sights kept us busy and interested. We particularly liked the Lost Colony, Fort Raleigh, and the Elizabethan Gardens.The hosts are gracious and extremely helpful. We truly enjoyed meeting them. One caveat: lots and lots of stairs! There are 35 stairs just to get into the house, and double that each way on the trail to the beach. We enjoyed the exercise, but it may be difficult for strollers, wheelchairs, or for those with mobility issues. One of our very favorite stays! We hope to return.

Beautiful cottage

June was so great! She was attentive and was available for any questions. The house was clean and well stocked. It had everything you could need. The walk to the beach was a little long but once you got there the view of the sound was amazing. There are many steps to reach the house and the sound. Not handicap friendly. Other than that it is a great stay

This was the perfect get away for a family group. The house was in an ideal spot, secluded and surrounded by trees and flowers. It was just a walk away from Manteo Bay beach area that was great for walking or making smores. The house was tastefully and beautifully decorated with all the right amenities plus a lot of extras! Our host was so gracious and helpful and the house was immaculate. This town had so many areas of interest that we must come back to explore them all and I hope to rent "The Cottage on the Hill" again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Fantastic surroundings

We really enjoyed staying at the Cottage on Hill. We loved how it was surrounded by trees yet walking distance from the beach (sound). The cottage was clean, and very well stocked with everything we could need, and more. The hosts were responsive and kind. We would definitely stay here again.

Serenity Cottage

Perfect! We loved our stay. Very clean and homey feeling. Beds were very comfortable. Loved the walk to the sound. Nestled away for quietness and privacy. Location was great. Host was wonderful and very quick to communicate when I add questions. We were aware of the steps but we were determined to stay there. Definitely stay here again. However, suggestion for us, pack lighter or replace steps with a ramp to pull luggage. Ha! It was still worth staying at this charming cottage! Thank you for a wonderful memory at Roanoke Island.
