En ombyggnad av köket och matsalen gjorde bungalowen från 1930-talet till en riktig godbit för semesterfirare! Granitbänkskivor och rostfria vitvaror vittnar om kvaliteten på hemmet, medan de fantastiska gamla dubbla hängande fönstren och cedarplankväggarna i vardagsrummet och sovrummen bibehåller den ursprungliga tränade hantverkarkänslan.

Många fönster och däck ser ut på den spektakulära vårbäcken som tumlar vid foten av en 2 Giant Sequoias, Enorma Cedars och Massive Pines. Blommande Dogwood träd, Trilliums, och vilda björnbär och hallon och vilda blommor nådar creeks kanten. Det är en mycket ren vårbäck som bubblar ur marken några miles uppströms som aldrig varierar flödet mycket, vinter eller sommar.

Great stay

The property was really nice and having the creek right there put this property over the top. The back deck with the bbq was great to hang out and the cabin itself was super nice. The property manager was a great person to deal with super friendly and had good suggestions on where to eat even though we cook at the cabin. Had a great time there hope to do it again.

Cosy by the stream stay

Enjoyed the stay by the water. Sitting by the water, the big tress all around. Our dogs especially enjoyed it.

A place we will go back to

Charming place perfect for a family reunion. The big plus is the river, the fire pit and the overall atmosphere. Also great location to explore lassen and the surroundings

very nice place, a little abandoned, needs more cleaning in the back, and the house is very hot, very difficult to sleep at night, rooms and bathrooms need more privacy

Wonderful location for escape from life

We had a truly wonderful time and it was perfect for a short escape from regular life. The little waterfall was so calming. We spent hours at the firepit next to the stream. The owner had a lot of lovely suggestions for places to go and made us want to come back again for a longer stay.

LOVE it!!!! Every time!!!

We've driven 433 miles (times 2, i.e. 433 miles ONE way), several times, just to stay here, and LOVE IT!!! It's like staying at your grandma's house in the woods, but better. Well equipped, has every modern amenity, but the absolute BEST part is the bubbling creek off the "back porch". With DEER! It's a peace that is indescribable, in a heavenly setting. I can't ever imagine not coming back. Not to mention all the fascinating Lassen National Park sights to see!!!

Great Creekside Home

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. The kids loved cooling off splashing in the creek in the evenings. Michael was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Wonderful, cute house with great amenities!

Communication with the owner was seemless and Michael helped answer all my questions before arrival. Check-in was super easy and relaxed, and explanations around what we needed to do were very clear. Wifi was good. We cooked every meal of our 4 day stay and kitchen and grill all worked great! All our guests had a wonderful time and will definitely come back again!

Enjoyed our stay, but I still miss my pillow.

Well kept home and we enjoyed our stay. A few suggestions: request quicker response by the owner during the securing of the home, left pillow and requested it to be mailed to me (I'd pay the shipping fee) and no response, and back screen door was not secure.

More than What We Expected

I knew the place would be larger than what the two of us needed but I liked the idea of having a stream so close by. The stream was incredibly beautiful! I wish there were an easier way to get down to the stream, like a small path but maybe a lack of one is to protect the water and the plant life, not sure. The bedrooms were a good size and having a second bathroom was perfect. Overall, this was the perfect spot to relax and go hiking in Mt. Lassen.

Cozy

Wife and I had a very good experience. Beautiful view of the creek and it was a nice setup. Unfortunately the dish washer didn't work (we were told before hand so it wasn't a surprise) but we didn't have that many dishes so we just hand washed them. We arrived with a fire already made for us which was great! Only complaint I had was some better curtains for the living room (especially on the north wall) and kitchen (which had none). Love the area, especially being close to Hat Creek.

Great getaway!!

Being right next to the river, and the sound of the waterfall was very soothing! Kitchen appointed very well. Couldnt find the beaters that went the hand mixer but we still made a cake. We bought some dice at a local store as all the games are not really full sets except the backgammon board and the mini chinese checkers! Wonderful place, dog friendly and the owner, Michael was very sweet, brought us a baby gate to keep the dogs up on the deck! He even had the fire pre-built for us.. overall, had a great birthday weekend! Would definitely stay again if it was available!!

Great Location Near Lassen National Park

This house was as described in the pictures. The backyard setting is very nice and the sounds of the creek running are very peaceful. This is a great location to stay at if you're visiting Lassen National Park. Michael the owner was very easy to communicate with and gave us great information on things to do in the area. My only recommendations. Fix the washing machine properly and put screens on the living room windows. We were there in the summer and it would have been nice to open the windows for fresh air and to listen to the creek but because of no screens and bugs, we chose not to.

Fantastic House & Location

Beautiful house, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very well maintained and presented. Process from booking enquiry to arrival absolutely seamless, friendly and professional. As indicated in earlier reviews, Michael is welcoming, attentive but unobtrusive and his recommendations on where to go and what to see are perfect, as was his restaurant critique.The House is so comfortable, we all felt very at home there. Around the house there are sun traps and cool shade as well as the deck to sit and listen to the Creek with a cold beer! Ideally sited for exploring North California area especially WhiskeyTown and Shasta Cascade, Redwoods and Pacific Coast but the area Gem is Lassen only 18 miles from the House and well worth visiting several times to explore and marvel at big sky/big country and volcanic scenery. Thanks so much Michael for the privilege of being able to stay in your lovely house.

Michael, the owner, was incredibly helpful and hands-on property owner who personally greeted us upon arrival and took the time to guide us through the property's amenities, from the cozy fireplace and ample firewood to ensuring we had a smooth internet connection and well-stocked kitchen supplies. His wealth of local knowledge enriched our stay, with recommendations for various destinations that left us wishing we had more time to explore. The property itself is nestled in a stunning forest, accompanied by the soothing sounds of a nearby lively creek that provided the best night's sleep I've had in ages. With its spacious layout, including four separate sleeping rooms, it could easily accommodate a large group comfortably. Its prime location just a short drive from Lassen National Park and Michael's additional suggestions for ten other remarkable spots in the area make it an ideal base for exploration. If you're seeking a getaway off the grid, I highly recommend Michael's place; just be prepared for limited cell service, as this secluded retreat offers a true escape from the digital world.

Really lovely spot--very comfortable and in a quiet setting by a beautiful stream

Exactly as pictured. Extremely comfortable, clean and thoughtfully appointed with the exception of no soap/shampoo in the bathrooms. Negatives: lack of proper screening on most of the windows and the slider in the living room. In the summer, that forces you to rely on the fans rather than the cool breezes at night because there's no way to keep the house secure/bug free. It would have been terrific, especially in the morning, to open the slider and enjoy the fresh morning air, but without a screen, it's not practical. The second bathroom is in a bedroom that you need to walk through to get to the master bedroom. Not very private for the person(s) sleeping in that middle bedroom. Cooking is easy; grill is terrific. Outside spaces are very nice and relaxing. Beds are very comfortable. Highly recommend for families, two couples traveling together. All in all definitely would come back.
