Tehuset Stugan ligger på en gård som var hem Woodstock konstnär Judson Smith, som använde det för en av sina ateljéer på 1940-talet och 1950-talet. Senare, hans döttrar omvandlas till en gäststuga. Dropparna av färg på golvet från Smiths arbete mer än ett halvt sekel sedan bevaras i omsorgsfullt restaurerade och lackeras trägolv.

Detta petite stuga utsikt över en vacker öring bäck och vetter mot floden och en 75 tunnland park med två mil vandringsled precis på andra sidan av floden som går uppströms och loopar tillbaka genom skogen till kanten av fastigheten. Om floden är hög, kan du komma åt trail huvudet genom att gå in till stan, bakom utomhus Shakespeare scenen bredvid Woodstock staden kontor.
Den Trailways buss från New York stannar i byn Woodstock, en halv mil från stugan.

Ursprungligen byggdes på 1870-talet som en liten lada på gården. Denna 1870-talet vintage antika post beam lada har totalrenoverats och samtidigt bevara sin ursprungliga charm - nya badrum, nytt kök, refinished antika trägolv, queen size tryckavlastande madrass i sovloft. Sovloftet nås genom en stege. På bottenvåningen finns en full storlek Murphy säng.

Uppdatera Nu finns det en öppen spis vid strömmen för användning av gäster i Skolhus och Tehushus. Vi lämnar en maul [Klyvyxa] hänger på ett träd bredvid den öppna spisen, och det finns en huggkubben. På uppströms [västlig] kanten av gården är en leverans av ved, av vilka några kommer att behöva dela. Vi inkluderar en "Campfire Primer" i våra bilagor om du inte har erfarenhet av dem.

Det finns wifi och en TV. TV är för att spela DVD-skivor. TV har också en HDMI-kabel, så att du kan titta på filmer, nyheter, etc. - allt som är online. Medan Teashouse är liten kan den sova 4.

It's cute but tiny

Very convenient to Woodstock. Sleeps 4 is generous. Bathroom is very small and hard to imagine more than one person at a time. The loft access ladder is rather precarious. Not for anyone with mobility issues. Owners might consider reattaching at an angle. Entry is yards from the driveway. You'll need boots if it rained. Post

Teahouse Cottage

2 nights in a delightful cottage. It is small but delightfully appointed. The highlight was this clean, warm little cottage is perched directly on swft stream. We left the backdoor open at night!

Shabby; but not chic

The Murphy bed in the living area was (good or bad) primitive in its design. The front steps were spongy; and should probably be replaced. Last, but not least, a driveway to the front door is needed.

great location, great potential

Really can't beat this location with access to a lovely stream in the backyard. Nice distance from town but still feels tucked away in the woods. the cottage itself has SO much potential, and just a few small adjustments would make it shine. the backyard was pretty run down - dirty/old/broken tables and chairs. Not enticing which is unfortunate given how great the stream isn Inside, with no screens, there was no way to get fresh air in the cottage without letting bugs in, so we'd highly suggest a screen door on the back (especially so you can enjoy the sounds of the water!) It quite dirty... dog hair on chair, couch smelled strongly of pee in one spot, cobwebs, etc. Also no sheets available for downstairs Murphy bed. With some sprucing up we'd definitely return!

Great Getaway!

Quiet retreat

Beautiful nature at the foot of a quiet retreat cottage, a mile away from the Woodstock strip and Comeau park and 4 miles from the Ashoka rail trail was an ideal access to peace and fun. I would definitely return and I appreciated the owners flexibility, great communication, and allowance for pets.

Cozy Cabin

We only stayed one night but I wish we stayed longer! The cabin and property were cute, and the town had so much to offer. We will definitely be back!

Cabin Serenity

What a charming cottage in Woodstock along a stream. The view and the outdoor fire pit were the best. The cottage was also charming, but if you are not comfortable sleeping on a Murphy bed or going up a ladder to a loft to sleep, this might not be the place for you. We loved it. Tiny but so charming and rustic. Give it a try! You will love it too.

Mountain privacy

Loved being close to Woodstock but not hearing a sound but the creek out back. We sat out every night with a campfire and even cooked dinner over the fire one night! A hiking trail is right across the creek, but first you have to find a place to cross! The peacefulness was what I have needed for many many years. Cabin was nicely appointed. Because of medical conditions I couldn’t use the loft bed but the Murphy bed worked out just fine. Slept all night without waking up. I followed all the tips in the reviews like bringing rolling luggage and they were all right. Sulfur smell in water was only issue so remember to bring lots of bottled water!! We came at peak fall season in the Catskills and it was incredible!!! Bring warm clothes for sitting around the campfire and a flashlight. Other than that. Get your fire started and listen to the sound of the creek and acorns falling! Enjoyable !

Perfect July 4th

My husband and I stayed over for the Fourth of July and we loved every minute of our stay. The cottage is cozy and lovely. We grilled food and enjoyed the creek as much as we could. The cottage is located walking distance from the town. The loft bed was fun! We would love to return once again!

This is our 'dream property' which we found in 2002. We weren't looking for a home, but my wife Chloe happened to see the estate the first day it was on the market and called me from the property to come see it. We immediately put in a full price offer, only to be told later that there was another higher offer. We then raised our offer by $80,000. but they sold it to the other buyer anyway for $50K less than our offer. We called the buyer's lawyer and told him to tell the buyer we would pay his price if he were willing to sell. A few months later he called us and offered it for $115,000. more than he'd paid. We were ecstatic. With four post and beam barns circa 1870 three of which had been converted to residences in the 1940's by a local artist of some repute [Judson Smith], fruit trees, a trout stream running though, adjacent to a 77 acre park, and walking distance from the village of Woodstock, there is no other property in the world we can imagine more desirable to us. There was lots of work to do. Now with a decade of work and $250K in renovations, we have it ship shape.
