Old, I can handle. Dirty is a different story. After the carpet was cleaned on day 2, it was bett...

The location is great, the neighborhood was quiet, plenty of room for 6 adults and a toddler.

Adequate home, not pleased with the cockroaches.

All underneath the house was concrete. Did not have to stand in mud to clean fish or park cars.

OBX 2025!

Our family vacation and overall experience was not bad at all. A trip back to 1985 says it all! So, if you don't mind an older home setting then this is for you. The layout was spacious and it had tons of character. We had trouble with the stove and were not able to use it for half of our stay. This was disappointing as we bought food to cook for the week. The Vacasa team went above and beyond trying to accommodate...even brought us a toaster oven.. but it's hard to get parts for an older appliance when you're located on an island. We enjoyed the outside deck each morning, very spacious. The bedlinens and towels were nice to have. The freezer did not have an icemaker so you need to plan to make ice or buy bags as needed. The walk to the beach access is just a few minutes down the street, but the climb through the dune may be tough for an older person and not convenient to carry lots of beach equipment. We loved that this house is centrally located in the banks and would definitely entertain the idea of returning to the area. So much to see and explore. It's beautiful here!

Good Home, Close to Beach

Overall this home is spacious and I would consider coming back. It’s close to the beach, and it was pretty clean upon arrival. We experienced no issues during our stay, which was nice. The only downside is there is no dishwasher, but that’s not a major issue by any means. Also, the cleaning crew will arrive at check out time (10:00 AM) almost exactly, so make sure you’re out by then!

Long drive to pool

Great house but I would not consider this house as “pool access”. The pool was a 20 minute drive away!! If we had known that we would have picked another house!

Comfortable and charming

Cute house with a unique build. Plenty of room for dinners and family time. Lots of things to explore and see around the house. Outside shower and wrap around deck was definitely a plus. Needs a little tlc but overall completely worth it. Had a great trip.

Great location and price -- need several updates.

Place is very close to the beach, under 5 min walk. Stayed 1 week in mid May. Needs some updates (HVAC was partially broken during stay) and deep cleaning -- feels very dated and seems like only a superficial clean (surfaces with dust, hair and oily in kitchen). Somewhat quiet neighborhood for the most part -- lots of grass cutting and power washing can be annoying (from 8am to noon most days during my stay). I wish they provided a few beach items (not a con but would improve as a guesthouse) Not too far from POI and overall good value for large family (s)

Great Getaway

Great location, makes a good day trip up or down the outer banks. Short walk to the beach. Two large living areas. House has NO dishwasher.

Review

It was ok. Lighting was fluorescent and hard on our eyes. Dusting would help. Beds have mattress protectors on them which make you sweat excessively and cause you to wake up drenched in sweat then your cold. Those suck. Makes for a horrible sleep. Everything else was fine. Nothing to write home about. Overall three star nothing special but please fix the mattress cover issue.
