Niman House is a fishermans paradise, river front on the beautiful Juniata River

Breathtaking views of the Juniata River from inside the home or from the two exterior decks. Amazing bird watching opportunities with lots of waterfowl and resident eagles. Our getaway is located along a popular walking/biking road that dead ends at a historic Canal House but continues with a walking path along the Juniata River. This cozy retreat is situated 2 miles from the Arch Rock Road exit off Route 322. Within 1 mile to either the Midway Drive In Theater and flea market or the PA Fish Commission’s MIfflintown boat launch. Located 4 miles to MIfflintown which hosts many dining opportunities, pubs, retail stores and groceries. It’s a mere 7 miles to Lost Creek Golf Course and 8 miles to Port Royal Speedway. For the die hard Nittany Lions fans it’s 42 mile drive to Penn States Beaver Stadium. We have kayaks, rafts, floats and fishing equipment rentals available. (PM for details)

Great property. Was way bigger inside than it appeared in pictures. So many places to hang out and bedrooms are spread out which is nice if you have extended family or friends. Host was flexible and responded quickly.

Peaceful

Beautiful property. Relaxing just watching the river. We enjoyed the hot tub, fishing dock, and fully stocked kitchen. The owner was great at communicating everything we needed and it was nice checking in a bit earlier.

River Home

This home was lovely, very relaxing and quiet. It was everything we were looking for on our small get away. Very clean home with comfy beds. The house was equipped with everything one may need. We loved making smores at the fire pit and feeding the ducks at the pond. The host was great, and communication was on point. Very much recommend this home away from home :-)

Niman House really is a fishermans paradise!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. The fisherman/water theme throughout is lovely. The house is impeccably clean and fully stocked (linens, towels and kitchen!). Our family enjoyed feeding the geese/ducks, playing games, the hot tub and the river. It's right on the river for lots of water activities. The host is super friendly and responsive. We've already re-booked for next year, we just loved it so much. Highly recommend!

The accommodations were outstanding, fully furnished residence. Hot tub, fire pit, full service kitchen, laundry room... Everything for "a home away from home." We came to enjoy a long, relaxing weekend. We had a scenic view of the river from the back decks and the hot tub. They even provide food to feed the ducks that live on the pond. The owners were very gracious and attentive. We had a minor issue with the Internet and they were happy to take time to visit and resolve the problem. We are looking forward to returning next fall.

Immediately, fell in love

This property is gorgeous. Mountain views? Check. Beautiful waterfront views? Check. Super clean, well equipped, beautiful home? Check. I booked this property to celebrate my birthday with my former husband and our kids (and their significant others). The hot tub was a hit, of course. But the home itself was so inviting and cozy. The property owners were great, and checked in without being overbearing, like some other places I’ve stayed. I absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking to relax, fish or spend time with loved ones.Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the stellar bird watching opportunities. 10/10 spot.

Our second year staying there for 3 nights (Thursday - Saturday). Beautiful property and a very nice house with enough privacy to sit outside at night with a fire, have some beers and listen to music without disturbing the neighbors.
