Kiawah one bedroom near beach

One bedroom first floor was suitable size for two adults. Nicely furnished, full amenities, 200 ft from beach, comfortable large bed, nice screened porch with good air flow and manager easy to reach by phone.

The Shade

We loved The Shade! It was perfect for two people, conveniently located to the beach, beautifully decorated and well equipped kitchen. The check in and check out process was seamless. We will definitely be back. Great job Jeanette and Shawn!

Great Location & Well Appointed

This condo is a 3 minute walk to the ocean and right by the Cougar Point clubhouse and the Kiawah conference center. It's very clean and feels like it has been updated recently. It's rather small but all you really need for one or two people if you don't plan on spending a lot of time indoors.

Perfect place for a perfect getaway

Everything was perfect. So clean and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, cookware, and spices. An added detail of legos for our two year old and books for my husband to read. The screened in porch is absolutely lovely and peaceful. Very short walk to the beach and shaded bike/walk path. Definitely recommend!

Simply the best!

This property exceeded our expectations! It was clean, organized, beautiful and totally updated. We loved the electronic keypad. The appliances were top of the line. Everything was labeled, including with directions. Decor was tasteful not overdone. Perfect!

Kiawha in the Fall

I hesitate to give the property 5 stars, because I don't want anyone to stay there but us! We live within 90 min of Kiawha and have been going there for years. This condo is the best for two people we have stayed in. The welcome book is terrific, especially for first timers. The layout for this size typical condo of Kiawha was unique and perfect. Many tasteful upgrades had been made. This place had EVERY possible item of use one could ask to be provided. It was very clean and in a great location. The distance to the beach was 2 min 27.45 sec - with a gait length of 20.5 inches and no wind factor in play :)

A Magical Vacation

Our stay at Kiawah Island was a magical experience for my family and me. The service we received was top-notch. I was amazed at how logistically simple the check-in and check-out process way. Peaceful retreat

We loved our long weekend in this beautiful home. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach and the well-appointed kitchen that offered the ability to cook at home. Our favorite spot was the tranquil screened-in porch, which allowed us to hear the ocean, feel the breeze, and spend time together off the beach. We hope to be back soon!

Fantastic retreat

EVERY aspect of this rental exceeded our expectations from the communication before arrival to the comfortable bed and adorable cottage feel. It was all superb. We loved all the restaurant and activity suggestions. Attention to detail here cannot be stressed enough. We would book here again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic property, fantastic getaway !!

The Shade is a beautiful villa...if possible even nicer than the photos. The owners have done an amazing job of thinking of every detail needed to make your stay a great one. It is obvious from the perfect cleanliness and perfectly maintained furniture and fixtures that the owners take great pride in this villa. The owners themselves were great to work with. All of their communication with us was detailed, friendly, and professional. I look forward to renting from them again for another great Kiawah getaway.

Absolutely our favorite rental ever!!

You can book this unit with total confidence! The owners were awesome and keep their unit in "like new condition" with all sorts of amenity surprises. Everything about the rental was easy from booking, to the short walk to the great, wide beach. This was our first visit to Kiawah Island and we loved the Shade's location. Can't wait to find time to go back in the Fall !!

About Property Managers, Shawn and Jeanette Lawson (Kiawah Island Getaways):

Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.

In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).

In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.

In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.

Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
