Cozy Mountain Getaway in Lyons, Colorado
A mountain getaway awaits you in Big Elk Meadows. Hidden away in Roosevelt National Forest, between Lyons and Estes Park. You'll give your friends/family the escape they need in an unforgettable place. There are over 600 acres to explore, 6 trout stocked lakes and numerous smaller peaks to summit.
The view from the deck is like no other. A short walk leads to a pool, tennis/pickleball courts, a basketball court and a playground. Wildlife can be see all around the area!
23-ZONE3448
You'll be sleeping at 7,550 feet!
We can accommodate up to six guests, but it's probably ideal for four. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and one with 2 twin beds. The living room has 2 couches that can be slept on too.
You can see Mt Audubon, Thunderbolt Peak, St. Vrain & Meadow Mountains from the deck! If you
hike up the mountain behind the house you can see Long's Peak (one of Colorado's 14ers) and Mount Meeker (a 13,916' peak) among numerous others!
The community owns 600 acres that you're free to explore! This includes 6 stocked lakes you can fish in and they're all walkable distance from the house. Colorado license is NOT required, but you will need a membership badge, so let me know if you'd like to go fishing and I'll leave a badge out for you and will provide fishing pole(s), if needed.
No guarantees on wildlife, but we've seen bears, moose, elk, bobcats, big horn sheep, turkeys and bald eagles!
A community pool is available from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend (approximate dates).

Let me know if you're interested in experiencing mountain living for a month during open fall or winter months! The internet connection will allow you to work from the house and we'll get you set up with a workspace (in the living room) to make your experience comfortable! (From experience - it's a great place to work, but the view can be somewhat distracting!)

4WD/AWD vehicles may be required for visits during snowy months. Roads are plowed when 2 inches accumulate. Driveway is not plowed and cabin stairs are not shoveled before your arrival - there is a shovel available at the base of the stairs, in
