About this space
This beautiful Michigan lakehouse can comfortably accommodate up to 12 adults with room for additional children. Guests will be blown away by the views from the outsized two-level deck spanning the lakeside of the property, as well as floor to ceiling windows from the main living area and bedrooms.
This house boasts four welcoming bedrooms with an additional full floor sleeping/media room. The two primary lake view bedrooms each have a plush king-sized bed, designated work space, closets/dressers and sliding doors to the upper deck. Additionally there is a twin-sized daybed in one of the primary rooms and a pack n play provided for comfortable family accomodation. The other two bedrooms on the second floor each feature comfortable queen-sized beds, plentiful closet space and full length mirrors. The attic space has four twin-sized beds and a pullout couch for additional lounging, ensuring everyone in your group will have a comfortable place to rest. All bedrooms are outfitted with blackout blinds, extra pillows and blankets, and USB ports for your devices.
The kitchen is fully supplied to cook for an intimate dinner or large gathering, with ample seating for all. Cozy up in the living room on the large sectional couch or comfortable chair swing while taking in the breathtaking lake views that can be enjoyed from the entirety of the main level living space. Grab any of the puzzles, games, and books for all ages kept in the tv cabinet for your enjoyment, while you listen to music from the radio/bluetooth speaker on the mantel or relax by the newly renovated gas-powered fireplace that can be turned on with the flip of a switch.
Two sliding glass doors from the living area give easy access to additional outdoor dining space on the deck and both propane and charcoal grills, for the experience of true indoor-outdoor living. The property also features an 8-person hot tub and fire pit, making it the perfect place to unwind and relax in any season. Take in the sun during the summer from by the lake or on either of the two large decks, or spend time enjoying lake life with swimming, fishing from the dock or exploring by kayak (two provided). There is also a coat room with washer and dryer available to hold any gear- whether it be from skiing nearby trails, Caberfae, or snowmobiling on the many ORV trails neighboring the lake!
When you’re ready to unwind inside, all members of your party can stream their favorite shows from either the 65” smart tv in the living room, or the Epson EpiqVision smart projector streaming to a projector screen in the cozy media room, outfitted with a vintage-style microwave and popcorn buckets to treat yourself during your movie night. The home is equipped with high speed wifi to handle all of your entertainment or work from home needs.
Other things to note
There are three exterior security cameras on the property. One by the side door and two by the decks. These are for us to verify cleaners and handymen have prepared the property for your stay!
If you are bringing a pet, it’s an additional $75 fee per pet.
Guest access
The house has parking for 5 vehicles. The property is located on a dirt road, and although only about a quarter of a mile of your trek will be on unpaved roads, the driveway is on a sloped access road. There is no problem getting cars/trailers up in summer, but a FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE IS REQUIRED FROM NOVEMBER-MARCH. The driveway and access road are regularly plowed and salted, but guests may opt to park along the road at the top of the hill if more comfortable- especially during new snowfall. The driveway is marked by reflector poles.
There are hundreds of both off roading trails around the lake and in the surrounding area for side by side off-roading or biking, in addition to multiple hiking trails. The closest trailheads are just over one mile from the Getaway. Also, just past the bend in the road driving east around the lake is Schindy's bar and convenience store- the best local spot with great service and fun community events year-round and an outdoor patio and live music throughout the summer. You have to try the unique homemade pizzas! This property is lakefront as well - easy access for fishing all summer long. If you bring your own boat to enjoy seasonal fun on the water, the public dock is on the southeast corner of the lake. Quiet hours around the lake start at 10pm, so please be mindful of your volume.

PETS
We allow up to **3 dogs (50 lb max each)** for **$75 per pet, per stay**.
- If you add pets during booking, VRBO will automatically include the first pee fee in your total.

RENTAL AGREEMENT, DAMAGE WAIVER/HOLD, ID VERIFICATION AND CHECK-IN STEPS

PLEASE NOTE: Our listing description and house rules mention that you will be required to complete a Guest Rental Agreement, ID verification, and Security Hold (which is not a security deposit) in order to receive Arrival Instructions to the home. Important: When cancelling your reservation, the credit card processing fees of 3.9% + 30c will not be refunded.
If booking with a credit card that doesn't match the guest name, you'll be required to provide a written authorization, photo of the ID, selfie, and card showing the last 4 digits of the credit card holder, or reservation will be cancelled.

**PRE-ARRIVAL CHECK-IN (Happy Guest Platform)**
This property requires completion of a brief pre-arrival check-in through a secure third-party platform called **Happy Guest**. This includes:
- Agreement to the Guest Rental Agreement
- Selection of a damage protection option (waiver or deposit if applicable)
Arrival instructions will only be provided once the pre-arrival check-in is completed. Happy Guest is a simple, web-based platform that requires no app download and takes just a few minutes to complete.

**1. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY**
Guest must accurately disclose the number of adults, children, and pets in the booking. This number applies to both overnight and daytime visitors. Unauthorized over-occupancy may result in eviction without refund.
**2. NO SMOKING OR VAPING INDOORS**
A $500 fee applies for indoor smoking or vaping. Outdoor smoking is permitted only with windows and doors closed. Guest is liable for odor or residue removal costs.
**3. PET POLICY**
Pets must be pre-approved and disclosed in advance. An Animal Addendum is required for all pets, emotional support animals, and service animals. Unauthorized animals may result in eviction and fees.
**4. DAMAGE POLICY**
Guests must choose between a refundable deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. Guests are responsible for any unreported or excessive damage, missing items, or extra cleaning.
**5. CLEANLINESS**
Guests are expected to maintain the home in a respectful condition and report any cleanliness issues within 24 hours of arrival.
**6. NOISE & QUIET HOURS**
Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 9 AM. Excessive noise or neighbor complaints may lead to eviction.
**7. PARKING**
Parking instructions and capacity are listed in the property description. Unauthorized parking or exceeding the limit may result in fines or towing.
**8. LOCK OUTS / KEYS**
Keyless codes are active during your stay. Lost keys or lockouts may incur up to a $150 fee.
**9. LINENS & SUPPLIES**
Please refer to the listing for what is provided. Only flush septic-safe toilet paper. Plumbing damage due to misuse will be charged to the guest.
**10. ISSUES OR COMPLAINTS**
All issues must be reported immediately and within 24 hours of arrival. Guests must allow the host an opportunity to resolve any problems before requesting outside intervention or refunds.
**11. REHOUSING & REFUNDS**
No refunds or reimbursement will be offered if a guest chooses to vacate the property early or declines offered solutions.
**12. CANCELLATION POLICY**
Our cancellation policy applies regardless of reason. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance.
**13. SUBLETTING / THIRD PARTIES**
