The property was gorgeous and just a short walk to the beach and pier. Plenty of space, and almost every room had their own bathroom and porch or balcony access. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Thanksgiving stay!

We booked this for a family Thanksgiving. My husband and I live in the area but our home is not large enough to comfortably accommodate 9 people. The house was AMAZING and decorated beautifully for the holidays. Everyone had their own space and the common areas accommodated all of us comfortably. Our host was very responsive when I reached out with a few last minute questions. This was a wonderful holiday experience!

superb stay at Rum Retreat

Easy walking distance to beach-at the end of the street. It is very close to shops, Target, and restaurants. Just down the road from Jockey's Ridge and Wright Brothers Memorial.All 5 bedrooms were well decorated and had comfortable beds. The bathrooms were very clean and modern. The sand volleyball yard was great fun and the outdoor shower quite useful. The house does have many steps with one primary bedroom and all the living areas on the top floor so if steps are a problem beware. But the kitchen/dining/living area is spacious and has 2 balconies.Only issue we had was no curtains or blinds on most of the windows so the sun came in around 5:45am! We're early risers but fyi. Will probably stay here again.

The house is beautiful, comfortable and has a great view of the ocean. This is NOT a 5 bathroom house as advertised. We had 5 women and expected each one to have their own bathroom. You need to change your description! We had an issue with the hot water, it took so long to get hot and some showers were only warm. We messaged the host but never heard from him. We thought that was unacceptable. This is why I rated the house 4 stars. It’s a great house as long as you know it has only 4 bathrooms and a finicky hot water heater and don’t need to contact the host!

I’m really sorry to hear there was some confusion about the bathrooms. One of bathroom is a Jack-and-Jill setup shared between the mid-level queen and twin bedrooms as stated on the listing photos. I also wish I had known you were having trouble with the hot water. I didn’t receive any message from your group during the stay, and the only communication I got was after checkout about the item left behind - which I was happy to return right away. If I had known about the water issue sooner, I would have taken care of it immediately. Thank you again for staying, and I hope you’ll consider giving the home another try in the future for a smoother and fully relaxing visit.

This was a great property to stay at, and our group really enjoyed ourselves. It's in a great location, and less than a 3 min walk to the beach. The only issues we had with the property was the water pressure in the showers lacking, the air vents also were visibily dirty. Again, though, the host was very communicate and friendly. We had a problem with the grill, and it was fixed that same very day.
