SLEEPS 12 - Are you looking for a little 'Lake Life'? Less than a two hour drive from Atlanta, Montgomery, or Birmingham, our Lake Wedowee Oasis is the perfect get away for a long weekend on the peaceful waters of Lake Wedowee. Your whole family can relax in our serene space. Our home is ON THE WATER with a spacious back yard and almost 200 feet of shoreline AND a floating dock, with a boat ramp just around the corner!
THE SPACE
Our home as two levels with multiple bedrooms and full bathrooms on each level. Upon entry, your greeted by a large family room open to the kitchen with granite, pantry, and an eat-at island. The master suite is on the main level and features a garden tub, double vanities, walk-in shower, and a large walk-in closet. Also on the main is the laundry room, two additional bedrooms, and a full bath. The family room leads to a covered deck overlooking the lake. The terrace level offers 2 additional bedrooms, full bath, a large garage and storage. Our home also has a tank-less water heater, as well as Starlink internet with 50mbps speed! We have also provided a gas grill for steaks and burgers! All towels, linens, dishes, and cooking utensils provided. Each bedroom has a flat screen smart TV. Guests also have access to our large Garage space. We've tried to create a quiet peaceful, atmosphere where you can spend time with friends and family, with plenty of things to do together. Play a board game (we have several), watch a DVD from our library, or read a book (we have a book collection) and relax. Or just sit out on the screened porch at night and listen to the symphony of frogs and crickets. Head into town to check out the local winery, donut and coffee shop, the arts and crafts fair held every weekend, or restaurants. This is a perfect place to get away and have some peaceful, quiet family time while enjoying the many amenities the house and lake have to offer.
THE LAKE
Our cabin is nestled on a quiet cove on the north end of the lake. Our dock is less than 1000 yards from the boat ramp, so you will never get lost trying to find the cabin. Lake Wedowee water level drops in the winter, and fills back up in the summer. It begins to drain in October and stays approx 8' below full pool until march. In march the lake begins to fill up approx 1' per week until it reaches full pool sometime in may. DURING THE LOW WATER PERIOD OUR DOCK IS NOT ACCESSIBLE BY BOAT. The best time for boats is May - October.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
The house is only booked to one group at a time. You would not be sharing with another group. Yes we have a keurig!
The town of Wedowee is a quaint, cute town that has a winery, donut/coffee shop, weekly arts and crafts fair on the median, food trucks, a few small restaurants, and conveniences such as a grocery store, convenience store, etc. The marina, accessible by car or boat, has marine supplies, gas, a BBQ restaurant, ice cream shop, and other marine essentials.
Wedowee is in a remote part of AL so the cell reception can be very spotty at times.

Lea is a singer, worship leader, Airline employee trainer and most recently Office manager for a large private school institution in south Atlanta. Brian was a long-time operator of a small concrete construction business in Atlanta. But after renting vacation properties for years with our three children, we thought we could do better.

Lea and I began a Journey back in 2008 when we had our first child. We started looking for family-friendly places to vacation that were affordable. We tried several different locales, including Disney. While Disney made for a great outing, we also wanted accommodations better than a hotel so we began to check out VBRO. We found we could get a more enjoyable stay renting from individual owners in great places such as Destin, Panama City Beach, Blue Ridge GA, etc⊠We rented every year for vacation and eventually became owners ourselves.
