In Cortona findest du das alles und mehr...der Tag beginnt mit einem Cappuccino und Brioche auf der Piazza ...und danach geht es auf Entdeckungstour...und es gibt viel zu entdecken.Die FeWo ist angenehm kühl mit hohen Decken und natürlich dem wunderbaren Blick von der Terrasse aus. Wir waren im Mai hier und wir hatten sehr angenehme Temperaturen. Geparkt haben wir auf dem freien Parkplatz vor der Mauer. Am Nachmittag, wenn die Tagestouristen wieder abfahren, findet man hier immer einen Platz. Der Aufgang ist nicht barrierefrei und auch sonst geht es hier auf und ab, wer also nicht so gut zu Fuß ist, sollte sich dessen bewusst sein und sich einfach mehr Zeit nehmen. Das gilt auch für die fitteren, denn es gibt überall etwas zu entdecken und auch kulinarisch ist man hier genau richtig. Die toskanische Küche ist 'einfach' wunderbar. Sehr zu empfehlen das 'Caffé Vittoria' und 'La Rughe di Cortona'

A happy time in Cortona

Samantha’s apartment was wonderful! The terrace was dreamy, with views and sunsets that I will remember for a long time! Apertivos and evenings sitting outside were lovely! The location is quiet and convenient. Lacking only a few refinements, the apartment is very desirable.

Perfect

This was our second year staying in same apartment. It was so easy and perfectly located, we did not want to risk another location. The hot water has challenges but once I messaged them, they were over in minutes to help. If you have a rental car, this could not be more perfect as the parking is adjacent to the home. Incredible location. Best view of our trip.

Renters be aware: the photos do not match the property.. The bathroom was the most disgusting one I’ve seen in 3 months of traveling in Italy.. mold, mold & mold from the shower curtain that sticks to you whilst showering, the hand held that doesn’t stay put and slides down, more mold around the perimeter of the bathroom. I’m allergic to mold so I was suffering for two days. Then an additional cleaning fee in ‘cash’ was inconveniently shared with us after we booked the property, I understand a cleaning fee but there is no trace of cash so there’s no accountability, seems shady to pocket our cash. Next.. it was so beyond cold in the property my husband and I slept in our clothes to keep warm because they also charge for heat as I discovered from past customer feedback. Remediation of mold is necessary or this property should be shut down it’s extremely inappropriate.

Nice appt, great view!

Spacious appt for 2 (bathroom quite small for 4). We enjoyed it very much. Parking can be a problem (weekend). Cortona is lovely, we enjoyed the village and its surroundings.

Nice location with easy access. Terrace great but only early morning when cool. Missed my air conditioner but fans helped . Plenty of room for 2. Quiet and comfortable.

Exactly What I wanted

I was in Tuscany for my son’s wedding in San Giuliano Terme. The week prior to wedding week, I drove solo to Cortona for some me time. The apartment was just what I wanted…the view from the large terrace overlooking Val di Chiana was spectacular. It is a short (uphill) walk to the piazzas and shops. Parking is free just below the apartment outside the city wall. You will need to carry your bag up two flights of steps. The apartment is a short walk from there. I selected Cortona as home base due to location/access to several of the nearby hill towns I wanted to visit. Anghiari (considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy) and Montepulciano are two favorites. Sienna is lovely as well…bigger and busier. Of note, the apartment is perfect for solo, couples and small families. There is not a living room, but the master bedroom is spacious with a couch/futon. The fabulous terrace for me served as the main living space. Very nice place. Spectacular views. Great location.

I wish we could have stayed longer. The outside patio is worth it alone! However, to get a view, you have to climb. Make sure your knees are strong and your luggage is light.

Amazing!!

We loved absolutely everything about our stay in Cortona! Samantha and Alen were great communicators and made the check in easy. The apartment is perfection! From the tall, shuttered windows, beautiful tiled floors, high ceilings and amazing terrace, it was amazing!! The location couldn’t have been better and the views….. Even though I didn’t really use it, the kitchen was well stocked. All in all- wow!! We didn’t want to leave and hope to be back.

Amazing view

This is a wonderful property in a quiet area, but only a short walk to the piazza and restaurants. The only improvement I would recommend is the shower caddy; all of my travel sized items kept falling out of it.

Cortona Getaway

Quaint, comfortable apartment with spectacular views from patio. Easy walking distance to main square. Alen, the property manager who checked us in was great; a Cortona resident who provided lots of suggestions. Samantha, the owner was also easy to work with and stayed in communication from booking to departure. Highly recommend property and host. For those arriving by train, I would suggest booking a taxi well in advance as they are difficult to arrange. We booked Saban Salijevic who was great! He also does tours. View and location could not be better.

The biggest problem is that we only stayed two nights. Although Cortona may be off the normal travel route, it has been our favorite town to visit. It is quaint, clean and very welcoming. Alen, who checked us in, was great as he gave perfect recommendations and was available via Whatsapp if we needed anything. If you rent a car, there is parking very, very close by. We did cooking classes at Fattoria Bistecca, which was highlight of trip. 7 km drive.

Best view in Cortona

Our panoramic view from the huge terrace says it all. The valley lights at night were magical. We stayed for a month and caught three different SpaceX satellite launches one week. The basics are there, too. Super comfortable beds and linens, great wifi, clothes washer. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to the central piazza. I can't imagine any other property coming close to this.

Fabulous stay

Lovely apartment inside the town walls with parking nearby just outside the gate. Great sun terrace with an outstanding view. Samantha is an amazing host and answered every question promptly. Cortona is a gorgeous place and we will be back.

We are a Canadian/British family that fell in love with Italy over a decade ago. After spending one too many winters in Canada, we decided to make the move to Italy full time, and we have never been happier, healthier and content.

Italy is special, and Tuscany is unlike anywhere we have ever experienced. Just ask anyone who has had the fortune of visiting. Even if only for a few days, weeks or even extended stay, there is something alluring about this magical place.

We fell madly, crazy and passionately in love with Cortona, its beauty, food, wine, community and people. We have learned to live life slowly, enjoy friendships, and savour the mouth-watering food!

Retirement is fantastic, but we are still young and like to keep busy. As my dad once said, “The worst part of retirement is that you never have holidays!”

How true! So, to keep us occupied, and mostly to meet more wonderful people from all over the world, we bought three apartments in the historical centre of Cortona to rent as tourist rentals. From these apartments (Casa di Amici) we have branched out and offer help to many local Italians that also have beautiful apartments for visitors to enjoy.

So between long lunches, wine tastings and exploring all corners of Italy, we are here to help welcome many visitors to Cortona.

Varför värden valde detta boende

There are many places to stay in Tuscany and the Cortona area. However, we highly recommend you choose a location within the Historical centre. Although the surrounding Villas although very beautiful, are also quite remote and can be more inconvenient.

We love to open the door and be steps to cafes, restaurants, shops and of course nightly passeggiata!
