Wonderful vacation for the family

The location of this home is perfect for families with small children/grandchildren. The bay for crabbing, playground, etc is right across the street along with Lavallette evening activities such as outdoor movies. It’s a short walk to the beach or to shopping and restaurants. The house is large and easily accommodates families. Everything was in working order. And above all else, the view from the upstairs deck was amazing.

Bare bones rental!

This property and experience was quite different from other Home Away experiences. Almost no amenities. Bring toilet paper! Time to look at "Home Away" competitors for a proper stay

Great location but...

Great vacation, you can’t beat the location. That said, the house is in a bit of disrepair and needs a little love. Here’s the scoop, the outside shower is dirty, and needs to painted sooo badly. The shower head leaks horribly and the knob is broken. (I cut my hand on it) The deck is in desperate need of repair and resurfacing. The wooden bench on the deck is broken with exposed nails. You certainly could not sit on it. Halfway through the week the window flower box suddenly fell off the house as the bracket was completely rusted out. There is a 6’ piece of aluminum fascia hanging off the roof. (Right over my car) None of these issues had a significant impact on our “good time” but cumulatively not what you would expect from the on line description or the money spent. Once addressed, I would recommend this house without hesitation.

Beautiful spacious bayfront

This is a great house on the bay. It was clean, nice furniture and very spacious for family gathering. Perfect location for bay recreation . We launched our kayaks easily right across the street. This location has spectacular views of the sunset over Barnegat bay. Check with the owner beforehandregarding your linen sizes. I brought the wrong sized bedsheets.

Beautiful Sunsets

The home is in a great location especially since we bring our kayaks to go out onto the bay. The house was clean and comfortable within walking distance to the town and beach. The owner was easy to contact and communicate with. Will definitely love to return next summer!

can't say enough good things about our stay!

This was a very livable, comfortable house. The view from the top porch was worth the trip- whether we were sipping morning coffee or evening drinks- the bay view was captivating. Our last night there was a storm- we were mesmerized watching the lightening and rain from the porch window- and this house weathered this as I am sure it has done so many over the years. Out back the gas grill and umbrella'd seating was wonderful! Our neighbors were friendly! The owners were available and responded to requests and a pleasure to deal with (we needed some assistance to get wifi established). Very accessible to beach and bay walks. Very close to NYC so that our son could catch a train into the shore to join us- and our dog felt instantly at home- can't say when I have enjoyed a stay as much as this one and we have stayed in many Home Away properties over the years! Thanks Barney and family for an amazing stay!!!!

Love this house and the location!

I have stayed at this house on two occasions, and I have been so pleased both times. The house is clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The location is amazing. My family likes both the bay and the ocean, so we were able to walk across the street to the playgrounds, bay beach, and the dock to go crabbing. In addition, the ocean is just three short blocks away. We will definitely come back to this house for future vacations!

Amazing sunset views

We were able to rent this property a bit last minute. Great communication with owner throughout the process of renting and while we were there. The property is in a great location - on the bay with great sunset views, near parks, short walk to restaurants and shopping, and an easy walk to the beach. The house is very spacious and comfortable.

Fabulous Sunsets

We rented this property from October through Spring of 2016. We found the home to be very comfortable and very conducive for entertaining. The location right on the bay in one of the nicest bayfront areas in Lavallette was a definite plus. Didn't get to use the upper outside deck due to the season, but in the warmer weather it would be awesome to watch the sunset and also the moon over the bay at night.

Renters beware, not what you see on home away site

Sadly , our second year at this house and it was in disrepair, won't go back! Landlord was unresponsive and neglected safety and sanitary issues when contacted! At check in, housekeeper had not been there, so delayed 2 hours. Coffee pot was broken and replaced 3 days later. Worse issues however, infested with what we thought were mice droppings throughout kitchen, to discover after catching 3, they were rats! Back deck was in such disrepair, we could not use it. Two of us were injured with nails and boards sticking up. Beautiful upper deck had more than half railings loose or missing and could not let grandchildren on there. Window air units upstairs were filled with mold and smelled , but had no choice but to run them. Cleaning crew which was included for second week was cancelled without our notice. Unfortunately to date, landlord has not Responded to us nor agreed to compensate us in any way. Neighbors on either side are lovely and reported other complaints this year. We will return to Lavalette but not this house!

Lovely and peaceful

My family and I wanted a quiet break from everyday city life and a "true shore" experience. We found this home through a website a friend reccomended. I found the home to be lovely, welcoming and have all the accomadations we could have hoped for. Located in this amazing atmosphere between the ocean and the bay. We got to watch the sunset every day over the bay and enjoyed the close walk and commute to the beach. My family and I will most definitely be back next year and hopefully more to come. Landlord and staff were great!!

BEST VACATION EVER !

I rented this house without seeing it in person and it was more beautiful in person the views were spectacular. We were there for the 4th of July and the view for fireworks were great! The owner was very accommodating. Did not want to leave we had one rainy day but did not mind because the house was so spacious. Definitely be back ! Patty

The house was great! Very clean! Open and airy!

The house was very clean...all new furniture and appliances on main floor...cozy, private backyard. And great upstairs deck with a beautiful view of the bay. I would recommend this rental to anyone! We stayed through Labor Day and thoroughly enjoyed it,

Lavalette Bay House!!

What a great location!! This was our second year renting there and we absolutely love it!! There is a deck (that you can see in the picture) that overlooks the bay!! This home is walking distance to the beach and the bayside cafe and shopping!! Can't wait to return next year. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Vacation rental

Location, Views, Comfortable, Clean .... what a wonderful time we had!! Across from the bay --- views outstanding from the deck of the sunset! Across from playground for the grandkids.. Very comfortable home .... couldn't ask for more. Owner most accommodating. Highly recommended.
