Since this was the fourth time staying at this cabin, safe to say we love it!! The location, nearby activities and amenities have made it ideal for our stays. We're planning another visit for Summer 2026.

Quite and lovely setting. Close to the lake with access to look local eateries and stores for last minute supplies. Close to many attractions in the area

Great location for day trips all around the eastern half of the UP. Comfortable, clean and very helpful host. Beach access was great, though we didn’t use it a ton. My only wish was a softer mattress, but we endured! Thanks Doreen for a great UP stay!

Brimley Getaway Vacation

This was the perfect location for us to use as a base camp for our extended Memorial Day weekend trip. Great beach right across the road and plenty to see and do along Whitefish Bay/Point. Short drives to both the Soo and Paradise as well.

Lovely honeymoon location

It was exactly what me and my wife wanted out of our honeymoon location. It was quiet and cool, campfires were perfect at night, not many bugs at all. Could not have been more perfect.

Great cabin, beautiful location

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this rustic cabin. It’s my second stay and the recent furnishings upgrades made the stay even better. Doreen really takes the time to make your stay more comfortable by providing all the staples needed. The area has so many gorgeous places to see. The nearby beach is beautiful, convenient and great for swimming. This cabin is a great place to stay!

Perfect Place

A Step Back In Time

Our second time staying in this adorable cabin, and it did not disappoint. Clean, welcoming and comfortable. Loved taking the short walk across the street to spend quiet time on the beautiful beach, listening to the waves. Kitchen-iti-kipi, golf at Wild Bluff, the casino, and fires at night, also kept us busy.

The Perfect Cabin

This little gem was incredibly clean, cozy, and well stocked. It's a great location for exploring the U.P and made for easy day trips to Sault Ste. Marie, Whitefish Point, and Tahquamenon Falls. The public beach across the street had stunning views of the lake and was great for stargazing on clear nights. If we're ever back in the area, we would absolutely stay here again!

Rustic Cabin

Rental matched description. Very rustic feel to our stay. Kitchen is well stocked. Cabin is very well supplied with towels, blankets. Great place to unplug from the rest of the world!!! Very close access to a wonderful sandy beach on Lake Superior to either play in the water or watch the freighters enter/exit the Chanel of the Soo Locks

A perfect Lake Superior location!

We flew in from Arizona for our first trip to Michigan. Doreen’s cottage was perfect for day trips to Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Crisp Point Lighthouse, Grand Marais, Soo Locks, and Mackinac Island. The Lake Superior sunsets, just a short walk across the street, are breathtaking. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. 😊

Beautiful

Cabin was clean and as described. I was disappointed that even though the listing stated there was a washer and dryer a sign stated the water could damage clothes. Since we spend our week hiking it is always a bonus to be able to do laundry. The bakery in town was great and the sunsets beautiful. Definitely go to Pickles for dinner. Overall a great base camp.

Cute little cabin.

This was a cute cozy little place right off the shoreline of Lake Superior. When we walked in it immediately gave a sort of Christmas’y vibe from the decor to the scents in the cabin. The cabin was very clean and well stocked for anything you may need for your stay. Doreen text and checked up on us when we arrived, which I thought was a nice touch. It is very well located to be able to explore so many beautiful places in the north woods including shooting into Canada for some daytime exploring. Make sure to gather information off your phone prior to arrival as cell coverage is not great on the entire area. Overall, our stay was absolutely wonderful.

Great location, water a little strange.

This cabin was nice and well located, everything inside the cabin was a little dated but worked. Beach was right across the street. Water out of faucets had strange smell and could not drink, she did have water jugs in fridge for drinking . She said the water had a high iron content. Overall cabin was nice and we had a great time visiting all the attractions with our 2 dogs.

Relaxing Getaway!

We chose to stay at Bedrock because we could bring our fur-babies and we just wanted a break from our daily grind. We went to the Falls, took some scenic drives to enjoy the fall colors, gambled a little at Bay Mills, ate a great white fish dinner at Pickles and took out dogs down to the beach to run. Doreen had the cottage ready for us and it had everything that we needed. On our last 2 nights we lit the wood stove and watched movies. On our way out of town, we stopped at the Dancing Crane for a great cup of coffee It was great not be on any kind of schedule and we had a wonderful time. Thank you Doreen! Dianne & Steve

Spotlessly clean cabin. All instructions/directions were easy to follow. The only thing I would add to the description is that there is a lot of iron in the water. We chose to buy water for cooking, coffee, and drinking. Lovely, quiet area.

We purchased this property in 2003 as an interim destination until, and while, we built our waterfront dream cabin in 2013 nearby. We loved every minute of our stay in this little rustic cabin. We purchased waterfront in 1994 with the dream of building on it, but until that was possible, we enjoyed this little cabin. We have developed a love for the beauty and rustic feel of the UP. This little cabin has the feel of waterfront, the smell of waterfront, the sound of waterfront, and a partial view like waterfront....but just walk to the west end of the property and cross the street to the public access. It's our joy to offer a stay for your relaxation and break from the media saturated world around you and retreat to a slower pace, with campfires, beach walks, hiking, swimming and many fun filled day trips.

This property is a break from the fast pace media saturated world. No in house internet access, but locally available, no cable TV, limited local stations with a VHS video player, totally "old school" complete with a selection of movies and DVD equipped flat screen TV in main seating area. Bring your own DVD movies or watch one of ours supplied. It's our hope that our guests will be so busy enjoying the outdoor beauty, day trips and playing games with family that media won't be necessary except for a nice cup of coffee at the Dancing Crane Coffee Shop to "check up" on your Facebook or emails with their free WiFi access just 3 miles east down Lakeshore Dr. The smell of real firewood burning in the wood stove touches off the rustic ambiance of those cool UP evenings or a campfire with marshmallows roasting or hot dogs lightly charred!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Watching freighters passing on their way through to the Soo Locks and on to the St.Lawrence Seaway. Breathtaking sunsets and beautiful "public" beach that only the locals know about right across the street, long walks on the beach and the beautiful vintage Point Iroquois Lighthouse just a short walk down the beach is a destination in itself.
