We had a great time, and yes, the view, the view the view! The home was clean, stocked with enough needed necessities (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc), and overall is well-maintained, but ready for that end of season carpet cleaning. We appreciated that the downstairs entrance has a place to sit and take off wet, sandy, shoes and hang coats. We always bring our own cookware for the planned meals, utensils, pillows, and other 'just in case they don't have it' items. However, this kitchen does have enough cooking equipment for meal making and serving, and lots of counter space compared to other places we've stayed at.
The upstairs bath is small, and currently doesn't have a temporary holding area for toiletries or a change of clothes. There is one rod with barely enough room for two wet towels. Putting clothes, etc, on the toilet lid or tank is not an option for us at bathtime. It looks like the house was recently painted inside, so perhaps hooks, another rod, or a shelf were there before, and just haven't been put back yet. We'd bring small hanging storage bags next time w/ 's' hook to hang on the shower rod or towel rod.
The path to the bridge across the creek is an easy and quick walk away (less than 10 minutes to hit the beach). Fairly quiet during the week. Access to the beach from Griffiths-Priday State Park is a good change up (needs a Discover Pass), and about 1.5 miles to the beach on the path (really, really quiet there).
We weren't concerned over the lack of a hot tub, outdoor fire pit w/ sitting area, or a grill -- as we never use them. Wifi worked w/o glitches, good cell service, and basic cable, upstairs and down. We watched the NASA spacecraft smash into the asteroid on a laptop without a wifi hitch. Awesome.
The view, the view, the view -- exactly why we like this place, that, and the easy access to a September quiet beach. This is the perfect place to unplug from the daily grind.
