This is a wonderful cottage - the area has a nice beach vibe but with the privacy of a wooded area. A basic house with no frills, but a pretty open-beamed living room and airy feel. Everything is freshly painted and spotlessly clean, with shiny wood floors. Two bedrooms are large, one is average sized. The screened porch is large and peaceful. The loft areas could be fun but aren't set up for sleeping. The outdoor shower has warm water (love!) and the owners said they're building an enclosure around it.
It was well furnished with new, comfy beds and sofa bed and all the utensils, small appliances, and extras that you could want. The nice owners live next door and made sure we had everything we needed. The yard is very large and private. It's a short walk (about 2 blocks) to a private beach. Most beaches in the area have steep staircases but this one has a ramp, which was easier for hauling beach supplies. It's a typical rocky Plymouth beach but the kids wore water shoes and had a blast playing on the boulders and hunting for crabs. Part of the beach is sandy for lounging.
There's a nice family restaurant 1/4 mile away for meals and ice cream. A short drive to stores and more restaurants. It's a 15 minute drive to downtown Plymouth with lots of history, cute shops, great restaurants, and gorgeous harbor. One day we drove onto the Cape to visit Sandwich and that was a quick drive.
We were thrilled with the house and with the Manomet location. We've spent many vacations on the Cape but Plymouth is so convenient for visiting family in the Boston area and also for day trips to the Cape. We'll definitely be back!
