The Lazy Laurel - secluded setting with mountain views and waterfall sounds

The Lazy Laurel is a true 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom cabin with a private bedroom and private full bathroom on each floor as well as a game room and large porch with outdoor dining. Perfect for couples or small families! Located at the end of a private street in Cherry Log's Cashes Valley, the cabin feels secluded but is located less than 20 minutes from the downtowns of Blue Ridge and Ellijay. Relax and enjoy year-round mountain views and sounds from nearby Fightingtown Creek.

Cabin floorplan:
The top floor features our living room, kitchen, dining area, full kitchen and master suite. The living room features a cozy gas fireplace, cathedral ceilings, smart TV, puzzles and games. Our kitchen is fully stocked for cooking including new pots, pans, cutlery, crockpot, blender, toaster, waffle maker and dishwasher. The coffee bar with both pod and regular coffee makers is ready to start the morning.

The bottom floor features our game room, queen bedroom and full bathroom. Our game room has plenty of options for fun including air hockey, pool table, large smart TV, bar area and pull out sofa. Just off of the game room is a full bathroom and our queen bed guest suite.

Porch and bottom deck:
The large porch on our top floor has a built in dog gate to keep both pets and toddlers on the porch while you enjoy the year-round mountain views and sounds from the nearby waterfalls of Fightingtown Creek. The gas grill and outdoor dining area is all you need to enjoy a great meal outdoors.

Our lower deck is located just outside of the game room. Enjoy the same great views and waterfalls sounds from either our new 2024 hot tub or fire pit. A charcoal grill and outdoor seating is also included on the bottom deck. Please bring your own charcoal and fire wood for the fire pit.

Neighborhood and property:
The cabin sits in the cul-de-sac of our little mountain top neighborhood. You won't be able to see any other cabins from our porch or deck, which creates a secluded feel during your stay. Our driveway is steep but fully paved, making it easy to park and turn around all year long. Take a hike through our neighborhood and enjoy spectacular views of the mountains on all sides of the road.

Wonderful and relaxing

The cabin was in a great location with nice waterfall sounds. It was within minutes of Blue Ridge DT. The hosts had the cabin fully stocked and ready for our arrival. The hosts were very communicative. We will be back for sure!

Relaxing getaway

That porch!

The cabin is perfect. It was more than I expected. The kids (5, 9, 11) really enjoyed the downstairs with the game room and “autonomy.” The road to the cabin is intimidating for a Florida girl. Single lane, have to figure it out if someone comes the other way but adds to the adventure. I was in a Suburban and it’s do-able.

Christmas Getaway

I had a wonderful stay in this cabin. The drive up the mountain is beautiful, the neighborhood is quiet, and the space was perfect for me and my dog. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and cookware. There were beautiful Christmas decorations up when I arrived, making it a cozy getaway for the holiday season. I enjoyed spending evenings by the fire.

Amazing Stay!!!

We stayed at the Lazy Laurel Cabin over Thanksgiving and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, well stocked cabin! We had everything we needed to cook a full Thanksgiving feast. Our boys loved playing pool and air hockey downstairs and watching movies on the big TV. We brought our dog who loved taking walks on the trails and the fenced in patio. 10/10 recommend!

Great Stay

Absolutely Amazing!!

The home and property are absolutely gorgeous and very homie. We loved every minute of our stay. Definitely secluded and far off the beaten path. Just what we wanted and needed! Everything was spotless and we couldn't say better things about the cabin or the owners. They are extremely responsive as we were here during hurricane Helene and had a few questions for them. We will be returning!

Peaceful and cozy

We spent a wonderful 2 nights/2 days at this Cherry Log cabin. The property was very clean, well maintained and not dated. We appreciated the fact that the owners thought of every possible thing that we may need while staying in their cabin: from cooking gadgets to extra towels, dog bowls, coffee pods etc. The amenities: the hot tub was new and well maintained, the pool table and the hockey table provided hours of entertainment for our teens. The location: The cabin is perfectly located in close proximity to the Mercier orchard, the Ocoee River whitewater rafting and shopping in the nearby towns of Blue Ridge and Mineral Bluff. Communication with the owners was easy and pleasant. We appreciated the brochure that was shared with us a few days before the arrival and the same brochure with details about the property was available at the property. We will be back again! Thank you for the pleasant, cozy and peaceful stay.

More than Expected!

I’ve stayed at several cabins in North GA and this location by far, provided more than expected! Not only was the property immaculately clean, there were unexpected “extra’s” that made the visit well worth the cost! The easy to read Welcome Guide was beautifully put together and included “need to know” information for making plans outside the cabin! There was an abundance of firewood onsite for us to keep fire pit going for hours as we enjoyed the sounds of water from a nearby stream. I wish we would have booked for longer but as my schedule opens up, I will definitely book that location again!

Secluded peaceful getaway

The road to get to the property can be a little intimidating at first, but well worth it! And the property is in a small community, but you would never know you had any neighbors once you are on the property. We spent most of our time on the back porch just taking in the natural beauty and sounds. Honestly our stress just faded away as we looked at the trees and mountains, and listened to the water flowing in the distance along with the birds enjoying the day. And at night we would sit in the hot tub and watch the fireflies! I can’t explain in words just how peaceful this place was for us… we absolutely loved it! To top it off they had an air hockey and pool table just to add more fun to the experience! We were able to visit waterfalls, the highest peak in Georgia, Blue Ridge, Ellijay and Helen… Honestly, so many beautiful areas within driving distance… It was amazing!!! The property alone had a beautiful view and it was so hard to leave there. I would recommend this place for anyone.. between the views and friendly and helpful property manager, it was perfect!

Beautiful Cabin & Great Hosts

This is a beautiful, peaceful and private cabin in the trees. There are plenty of fun amenities to enjoy at the property as well as everything you need to enjoy some great food and drinks. The hosts were kind enough to provide us with tons of information for local entertainment and outdoor recreation ideas also. 10/10 would recommend.

We like to invest in vacation homes in the areas we love to visit and share those homes with guests while we aren't in town. We purchased the Lazy Laurel cabin in 2024. We found it to be the perfect location with a secluded feel yet centrally located less than 10 miles to either Blue Ridge or Ellijay. Even though you won't see any homes while relaxing on the property, our cabin is located at the dead end of a street with fewer than 10 homes. It is a quiet little neighborhood that is dog friendly. You will often see other owners and renters out walking dogs and enjoying the great mountain views.

After parking in our paved driveway, you will first notice the great views of the mountains and the sounds of the waterfalls below our property. Those waterfalls provide a constant peaceful soundtrack to our entire property. The most mentioned features of our property are the secluded feel, the year-round mountain views and the constant sounds of the waterfalls in nearby Fightingtown Creek.
