Castle in the Sky- Overlooking Rapid City
If you are looking for a luxurious, amazing place to stay? This house sits overlooking Rapid City with incredible views, every evening is a picture perfect as the city lights come on.
This quirky house is a fun mix of eclectic and fancy that you will find. A rich builder originally built this to be his "Coup de Grande" but only finished the guest house. You will find high end finishes mixed with eclectic choices. We promise this will be one of the most memorable places you'll ever stay at!
Have you ever wondered what the life of a rich person is like? This house will answer that question for you. Built two decades ago this house was built by an eccentric wealthy person. He had visions of helictoper pads, a mansion attached to this guest house, and many other dreams.
The VIEWS!! This house overlooks Rapid City and all year long it has the most incredible views. Whether it is the elegant beauty of the house inside or the amazing views outside your eyes will be pleased while you are here!
Inside the house as as much of a work of art as it is a place to live. It has amazing finishes such as beautiful wood beams, high ceilings, elegant angles and high end appliances. The king bed in the master bedroom is amazing with the incredible views.
The eclectic side shows itself as there are some things that don't make sense. For example the upstairs doors are 10' tall but the lock mechanism that you can't use a smart lock on the doors. One of the staircases is made of of slate slabs of rock instead of a normal staircase. Instead you will first have to enter through the basement door but the basement entrance was never finished only Framed. Upstairs in the kitchen the pot filler was installed but they never hooked it into a water line so without tearing out drywall to find where the line goes it became cosmetic only. (That is the only thing that doesn't work) but it was such an odd decision to bury the line.
You will have access to the entire house with the exception of the garage. The garage is for the owner only and these is no way to access the garage
We are a small team of friends who will be available 24/7 for anything you might need.
Check-in is contactless with a unique door code sent to you on the day of arrival.
This property has a long gravel driveway with a steep hillside on one edge. Please don't drive fast on the driveway. There is large equipment on a nearby area you can see from the driveway that is off limits. It is not our equipment or area and we don't want anyone to get hurt or in trouble for trespassing in the wrong area.
There are stone stairs into the property. Use at your own risk. They can be slippery when wet and have no railings. Due to their size they are also not easily removed either or we would have them fixed.
The upstairs doors use a special lock that has to have the handle turned upwards to latch. They do not automatically latch. You are responsible for latching the doors to stay shut if you are at the property. Any damage caused by doors coming open will be your responsibility.
House Rules
As a Superhost, we aim to make your stay as comfortable as it can possibly be! Our mission is to help our guests create beautiful memories in our cozy home while keeping the property safe and in good condition for the owner.
Smoking:
No Smoking or aerosolized substance of any kind is allowed on the property. If you are caught violating this rule within 50' of the structure a minimum of $250 fine will be charged and the guest will be liable for the total smoke mitigation charges that a professional company charges.
Pets:
This house is pet-friendly with a one-time pet fee of $75. We allow up to 2 dogs as long as they are fully potty trained, will stay off of the bed and couch, and will not be in the house alone unless kenneled. Additional pet fees will be incurred if there is damage or extra cleaning due to the pet. Dog waste must be disposed of or fees will apply. Also, furry feline friends are lovely but unfortunately, we cannot accept cats at this property. :)
Quiet Hours:
Please be respect the neighborhood and keep noise under a normal conversation in volume after 10pm and before 8am.
General Damages:
Please let us know immediately if something is malfunctioning so it can be rectified. All damages or missing items occurring during your stay will need to be paid for by you before departure. Cleaners check for damages and any missing items after each stay. Any damages or missing items can and will be billed to the guest.
Fire Prevention and Safety:
Please do not leave any electrical appliances switched on when they are not in use, or when you are leaving for the day. This includes space heaters, air conditioners, fans, hair curlers/straighteners and
portable device chargers.
Other:
The space you are booking is for up to 3 people. More than three people are allowed in the home but not recommended.
No one is allowed in the home not already specified before starting stay.
Consumables:
We may leave consumables such as coffee and small snacks for you to enjoy. We try our very best to ensure that it is not expired or stale. However, ultimately, it is up to the guests' discretion and inspection to consume these items if they wish. The host does not take any responsibility for the consumables.
Parties:
If guests are found to have had a party without host permission guests will be responsible for any extra cleaning charges and Guests will be asked to vacate immediately.
Crime and Drugs:
If guests are suspected of breaking laws or storing/selling/or using illegal drugs of any kind, the authorities will be engaged, and guests will be asked to leave immediately.
Cleaning:
Please hang your towels, take the trash out to the outdoor garbage can, and wash your dishes. We will handle everything else. We handle it however if your party leaves the property in poor condition at the sole discretion of JAckie we may charge additional cleaning fees. This is based on the average condition that a guest leaves the property.
Your cleaning fee covers the cost to disinfect the property between guests, laundry wash/dry/placement, staging the property as it was, cleaning bathrooms, floors, hard surfaces, etc. It does NOT cover anything else such as coloring on walls, damage to the property, damaged linens, furniture, gouges in flooring, broken items, or other extraneous items.
Lastly, because this is an Airbnb community, not a hotel, please be respectful of the property.
