Välkommen till vår sjunde säsong här på The Woods på Duck Creek !!

Våra gäster älskar vårt läge här; bort från allt, men ändå nära till några populära destinationer som Bohemia River Overlook, Merchant Social & Elk Neck State Park - alla bröllopsplatser, och Anchor Marina, välkänd i North East för att vara värd för basturneringar!

Vi välkomnar dina släktträffar / sammankomster och erbjuder också ett annat semesterhus intill stora familjer. Det listas här: www. vrbo. com / 1654897. Ta gärna med dig dina tält !!

Vi har en unik fastighet här längs älven, som ligger i en lugn vik, med vikar på varje sida och en vacker utsikt över floden.

Titta på örnarna och Ospreyen svävande över bäcken och letar efter deras nästa måltid! Det finns också gott om Blåhäger, Gäss och Änder. På kvällarna kan du se rådjur som spelar längs strandlinjen.

Hemmet är fullt möblerat och innehåller ett fullt utrustat kök - du behöver bara ta med maten!

Vi har alla sängkläder och handdukar du behöver och gott om filtar och kuddar också, och alla sängar är nyligen gjorda före ankomst, så du behöver inte göra något!

Great pick

We were in the area for a family wedding. We decided not to stay in a hotel. This place was perfect for us to stay with our immediate family. It was a beautiful setting and a well maintain home. We would definitely stay again.

Kim and Steve were wonderful! We really enjoyed the quiet and view. Exactly what we needed for a short getaway while in town for a lacrosse event. Kim was amazing with local recommendations and we really love the atmosphere of North East. We will be back!

Wonderful Time at "The Woods at Duck Creek"!

We had a fabulous time at Kim's place. She was an amazing host. I came from NJ. with my daughters and their signifigant others, to see a show in Havre De Grace. The check in was easy. It's a beautiful setting! There were snacks and beverages that we appreciated greatly! There was plenty of wood and kindling for beautiful bonfires each night. The beds were really comfortable and we all slept well! Kim sent a link with so many fun things do in town. There are great stores, restaurants and a even a fantastic zoo! A Perfect get away!!

If I could give this property ten stars, I would. I don’t have enough space to rave about the hosts. The house was extremely clean and organized. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable at all times. Truly some of the kindest people with superb information and recommendations. The scenery was outstanding. We stayed there to celebrate my son’s graduation from UDel and it did not disappoint!! We literally had the most beautiful bonfire by the creek. Love love loved our stay!

Hidden Gem on The Elk Neck

This was an awesome couple weekend getaway destination. We visited early April and had some rain but that didn't put a damper on our adventure. We unplugged, unwound and enjoyed the beautiful setting this place has to offer. Kim, our hostess, was amazing!!! She was on top of everything and made us feel super welcomed before we even got there. Definitely the hostess with the mostest!!! She even brought us homemade brownies and left so many thoughtful touches in our rental and on the property that really came in handy. We would recommend taking her up on borrowing some kayaks and heading out on the water, catching the sun rise and/or sunset, cast your line off the pier (or the kayak), catch a glimpse of the resident bald eagle and enjoy a warm outdoor fire at the end of your day!!! Thanks again so much Kim, we will be back for sure!

Wonderful

My husband & I just returned from a long weekend at Kims property. The location is great & extremely quiet. All we heard while there were the sounds of birds. We enjoyed watching the osprey & also two bald eagles in a tree by the water. Kim has kayaks available to use along with life vests & whistles for safety. We enjoyed one evening of paddling & it was so peaceful. As for the rental itself, all you need to bring is your food & clothing. Kim has stocked the home with everything else you could need including shampoo, conditioner, body washes & lotion. The kitchen was fully stocked with spices, plastic wrap, foil & absolutely everything else you might need for cooking. The rental was also clean & comfortable. Kim puts a lot of thought & care into her rental. Communication with Kim was also exceptional. From the time our booking was confirmed Kim was in touch to give us not only information about her property but also lots of places in the area for eating, recreation & shopping. Kim was also easily accessible during our stay and never intrusive while we were there. We were very pleased & definitely planning to return

Beautiful water front location!

This was such a beautiful and unique property! The house was bigger then it seemed in pictures! It was very nice to have two showers. The beds were also very comfortable. One of the cleanest rentals I've ever stayed in. Kim and Steve were amazing hosts. Even showing us around and explaining the history of the property which is very interesting! Last but certainly not least... the views! Incredible. My husband spent hours fishing off the dock and I didn't even mind just sitting there doing nothing. I Saw hawks, blue Herron, bald eagles and even a family of ducks. We will absolutely return when it's warmer to use the kayaks and swim!

Quiet and peaceful off the beaten path perfect getaway.

The owner's met with us the night we got there and showed us the property. Kim and Steve were amazing and they're property has much history it was a delightful surprise. They vacation was quick only stayed the weekend and was sad to leave all in all a great weekend with great accommodations. Definitely will be back.

A Very Hospitable Experience

This was such a great weekend getaway! I felt the property was a great deal on VRBO, since it came with access to the family kayaks and had excellent views of the water. Kim and Steve greeted us upon arrival and took us on a tour of the property, and Kim was just a text away the entire weekend. She even reminded us when to come down to the dock to watch the moon rise over the water.

Great Chesapeake bay fun

Had a great time there enjoying open fire and kayaking on the bay. Kim and Steve are great host and try anything they can to make your stay better. The town nearby is small and charming with excellent food options. I would recommend this to friends.

Duck Woods

Had a great time at Duck Woods, which should also be called Heron Heaven. They were fun to watch from the kayaks. The area is beautiful and laid back. Great eateries and shops. Had fun exploring upper Chesapeake Bay. The house was clean and well-appointed--we didn't need anything. Thanks, Kim!

Fabulour Riverside Property

This property is amazing! The owner started contact with me as soon as I booked my stay and stayed in contact with me until my stay was over. She is warm and welcoming and has created a space that reflects those qualities! The best part is that it is right on the water, with lots of ducks and a couple bald eagles took off from the shore, just as I was arriving, and chased each other around the sky!! I highly recommend this property and will stay again as soon as I'm back in the area!

Fun getaway

This rental was great! Miss Kim & Mr. Steve are wonderful hosts. The house/ property is stocked with everything you need to make you feel at home. The waterfront view is wonderful and offered me beautiful scenery as I enjoyed my coffee each morning. My 3 teenage boys & I loved kayaking and enjoying time on the water. Hope to stay here again for future trips to the area.

Great location

The waterfront location was great. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and tubes and hanging out on the shared dock. The house was comfortable with our family of 2 adults and 3 older teens and the kitchen was suitable for cooking multiple dinners for our family. We enjoyed our vacation stay here.

Perfect escape

This was the perfect weekend escape. The property was exactly as described. The house was immaculately clean and had everything you could want. All you need is to pack your clothes and toiletries, food and drink, everything else is there. The cookies and wine waiting for us, was a sweet touch. There were 6 of us. The 3rd bedroom is tiny, ubt the sofa in the living area also pulls out. We did not spend much time in the house as we had perfect weather all weekend. Sitting in the chairs and looking out at the creek was so peaceful. There was plenty of space for the boys to play frisbee and spikeball. The kayaks and row boats were awesome. The boys found a great fishing hole straight out from the dock near the land to the right by the river and caught a ton of catfish. Kayaking the creeks and the river was so much fun, such beautiful sights. Campfires at night while looking at the stars and the moon over the water was the perfect ending to each day. We had every intention of grilling but MD had opened to outside dining, so after being cooped up for months we enjoyed eating out. We had crabs from Baycrawlers crab shack and enjoyed eating by the water at Nauti Goose. The house is an easy drive to the town of North East and right by the state park, tho aside from going into North East we just enjoyed the property and the use of kayaks and boat. Kim and Steve are the best hosts and some of the nicest people we have ever met. Our boys are already asking when we can go back. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!!

Feeling welcome and given the gift of tranquility

Kim and her husband, but especially Kim, are special people. The small house was comfortably equipped and had everything one could ask for. If you thought, "Now i wonder if they have..." It was there. The chair that overlooks the cove splitting from the Chesapeake is a pace of deep peace. You could sit and read, contemplate, chat, or just watch and listen to the myriad of wildlife nearby. The birds were amazing -- Osprey, Bald Eagles, Blue Heron, Egret...and ducks galore. Across the way, the wetlands turned golden in the sunset. Thank you, Kim.

A Great Stay

The best place we stayed on our two-week trip. Kim was very responsive before, during, and after our visit. Cookies and wine on the table. The only owner we met on our trip. Kim spent time drinking wine and sharing conversation on our first night. Thanks, Kim, you were a wonderful hostess.

Hello! :) I'm Kim and I am married to Steve. I own this rental property with my brother, Gene.

Steve and I have 4 kids; ages 32, 27, 25, and 20. Steve is a Systems Engineer, who runs his own business, plus has a part-time job as well in computers. In his "spare" time, he keeps the books (QuickBooks) for our vacation properties and also mows a lot of grass & cleans all the propane grills between Guests!!!! I manage our vacation homes, doing the advertising & marketing (updating this site, taking photos, keeping track of bookings). I do all the cleaning (tons of laundry, bed-making & bathroom cleaning), furnishing & decorating, and keeping up with all the paperwork and paying all the bills on time. My most important job is communicating with our amazing Guests through texts, emails and phone calls; I guide them in planning their vacation and promptly answer any questions, and on arrival day, we greet our Guests and show them around the property (their house, the river & kayaks), ensuring they feel "at home" at their "home away from home". We have been told our hospitality is "second to none", which is the highest compliment, and I know it is because we truly love what we do and when you love what you do, it shows!! In our spare time, we love kayaking on the Elk River. When we get a day away, we love a trip to Rehoboth Beach!

Gene is a super-hard worker, both with his own Masonry business (working 6 & 7 days a week) and here on the property in his "spare" time. He is the one who takes care of the dirt lane and all the maintenance work around here, for the property itself plus all the homes. This is a huge job and he's on top of it! He has one son who is 27. Gene enjoys being on the water in his bass boat & riding his motorcycle. He also loves deep-sea fishing and traveling to Chincoteague Island.

Our Great-Grandfather bought this property because it was his favorite fishing spot! This beautiful property has been in our family since 1918 when our Grandfather moved here from NY with his parents; he was 5 years old. He grew up here, then our Dad grew up here, and then Gene and I grew up and now our own kids have grown up here!

When we were growing up, our Grandparents rented the property for summer rentals and those are our favorite childhood memories, so we are so excited to be bringing that back! We love sharing this unique little cove along the Elk River- it is unique as there is not quite anywhere like it that I have seen! It is truly special!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Kayaking... just being out on the water, especially on a quiet evening, watching the Bald Eagles fly overhead, Osprey hovering mid-air and then diving down to grab a fish from the water, seeing the families of Geese and Mallards, Blue Heron and once in awhile a white one, lots of different birds, fish jumping, gentle waves, a warm breeze, maybe deer playing, or fox, or raccoon walking along the shoreline... this is why I love this property. It is so peaceful and serene - amazing for the mind and the soul!!
