The Space:
We are an eight-acre campground located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in the Arkansas River Valley of Howard, Colorado.

At Rocky Top River Ranch, we offer a relaxed, quite, peaceful, natural Colorado Environment: a true Colorado experience!

We're just 14 miles east out of historic Salida, Colorado, with Twin Sister Mountains as a backdrop and stunning 360 panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains.

The Arkansas River is right in front of us and there are numerous access points to get to the river at nearby parks.

1 Queen Bed, 1 Full Bed, Kitchenette ,(Mini-Fridge, Coffee Pot & Microwave) & Has AC

The A-frame is in a campground that includes 3 cabins, 6 lodge rooms, and 16 RV sites.

*While we do offer wifi, high winds and mountain weather can cause occasional outages that are beyond the control of the property hosts.

Great, Quiet, Pretty Location

Easy access to the highway, yet far enough that you feel secluded. Quiet place with great views. Nice staff and good communication with online property management.

Great cozy spot across the Arkansas River.

We had a great time and we were able to make good food and enjoy the sounds of the river. I walked across the street and fished in the morning and it was great.

Weekend Getaway

This A frame cabin was adorable. It was a good size for the three of us and our medium size dog. We liked that there was air conditioning for the loft and also a portable unit for downstairs. The check in process was easy. The location was good for us. We would probably stay here again.

Not for everyone

If you have bad knees or back this place is not for you. The beds are very low to the floor. If you have a problem with rodents. This place is for you. The mice got into our bread and other things on the counter. If you have a problem with cleanliness this place is not for you. The dust was thick, looked like the place had not been used in a long time. The place just look old and run down. The one ceil fan is in the wrong place so the loft is extremely hot while the lower level is cool or comfortable. I personally would stay here again because I am used to camping and roughing it, but there is no way I would bring my wife here. I would have left this place and went somewhere else if I would have had brought my wife. We had to hail the trash off to another location because the dumpsters have key pad locked on them, not combination locks for the code I was give. This place is very small I don’t recommend taking a lot of stuff. Especially the kitchen area.I think it is priced appropriately just needs someone to care about the upkeep. And raise the beds up.

Disappointed

We weren't super pleased as there was not AC like advertised. The place was clean but very musty with the evap cooler running full time. We couldn't open the windows and screen door due to bug coming in through the ripped screen. So we left early.
