Welcome to Sunny Shores, a delightful waterfront retreat located in the picturesque Curtis area on South Manistique Lake, just 35-40 miles from Grand Marais. This cozy vacation rental sleeps six guests in three comfortable bedrooms, each offering beautiful lakeshore views.

​The master suite features a king-size bed, dresser, large closet, and an en-suite bathroom with a garden tub, dual sinks, and a walk-in shower. The two additional bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, dresser, and closet. The second bathroom includes a shower/tub combo and is conveniently located next to the mudroom, which has a washer, dryer, and utility sink.

​The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher and a K-cup with an automatic brew coffee maker, ensuring you have everything you need for your stay. Just off the kitchen, the screened-in patio with a gas grill is perfect for outdoor dining. The living room opens to a furnished all-season porch, where you can enjoy your morning coffee and the sunrise, letting the warmth inspire your day's adventures.

​Outdoors, you'll find a firepit and access to the lake's many recreational opportunities, such as fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. In the winter, take advantage of snowmobiling and ice fishing for a true taste of the area's outdoor adventures. Sandy Shores is equipped with WiFi and is available year-round, making it an ideal destination for any season.

Great location, secluded from town but very close. Nice access to the lake. Plenty of parking. House was very well maintained and included all the necessities.

Nice cabin, place was as described. No AC which for the week we were there was rough, it was consistently in the lower 80s inside. Some fixtures were dated but it all functioned. Nice screened porches.

We arrived to find the house in perfect shape for us to move into for the long weekend. The kitchen was well stocked with all the plates and utensils needed for all the meals. The house is very comfortable The overall house and location to both the lake and Curtis is excellent. I highly recommend this house if you want to be on South Manistique Lake.

Overall our stay was excellent! Good communication from the host, house was spacious and in mostly good condition/clean. Fixtures in house are dated and not in the best condition/function (master bath drain doesn’t seal, master bath shower door a bit gross) but those were minor and the rest of the house was great. Please note there is no air conditioning in the house- our weather was perfect so it wasn’t needed and there are many fans available. If you are needing to get groceries while there, look to travel to either Newberry or Manistique. We loved being on the lake and within a 1/1.5 hr driving distance from so many fun places to visit- Munising, Manistique, Grand Marais, Whitefish point. Would definitely come back!

Everything was wonderful. The only thing I didn't like was having to transport my trash somewhere else. There were 2 large bags in the outside bin already. I took them with me to drop off because I didn't want you to think it was us

Excellent property owner

We had a little snafu with the property we were supposed to stay in. Well before we got there, the onwer got into contact with us, explained the situation, and offered a replacement property, a bigger house than we had booked. A few miles from where we had planned, but not enough to matter and more than made up by the replacement house. Very nice house ,wifi is a bit slow (its the UP, it's common), well stocked. Excellent owner, great communication. Would definitely rent from her again.

Good last minute booking

This was a great last minute booking for us when we found Houghton did not have snow less than a week before our trip. We quick booked this knowing we would have to trailer our snowmobiles north and we were ok with it. There was a good bar nearby. The only slight issue is communication when we were not getting a response through the app. I finally found a number on an email and was able to communicate that was. Even with that it was a great extended weekend!
