What Makes This Place Remarkable
This is more than a place to stay. From artisan-made touches to locally sourced accents, the villa reflects care, warmth, and a connection to the land. Guests often describe it as a place of healing and renewal — where sadness eases, where presence takes root, and where every step feels like the first.
Like gold nuggets hidden in the earth, small moments of joy, laughter, or healing appear here, ready to be found and carried forward. Each guest discovers and leaves behind their own nugget — a word, a smile, a memory — treasures that enrich the experience for everyone who follows.
From the Moment You Arrive
Wiggle Your Toes greets you with a quiet sense of belonging that transcends age and expectation. One guest returned three times, including for her 101st birthday. She spent her days basking in the sun on the back porch, the Huachuca Mountains stretched before her, with hens and geese gathered gently at her feet. She wasn’t afraid of them, and they seemed to sense her calm presence, meeting her openness with their own. She even trained them, in a way, simply by being so steady and kind. Her visit reminded us: this place has no clock, no pressure — just space to be.
Many guests also find themselves naturally drawn into the villa’s gentle rhythms — watering plants, watching birds, or even putting the chickens to bed under Michael’s guidance. These moments are not scheduled activities, but the organic flow of a living home. For some, sitting quietly in the garden is enough; for others, the joy is in tending a feeder or planting a seed. Everything here is cared for, and guests are welcome to join at the level they feel comfortable.
A Note on the Living Home
The villa is alive with nature, and its rhythms are part of what makes it unique. A small flock of friendly hens (and occasionally geese) live here, cared for daily. Among them are Lavender Orpingtons — including Daniel, a strikingly handsome rooster known for being calm, confident, and gentlemanly, and Gretchen, our elder hen — as well as Swedish Flower hens, each one beautifully feathered like a living painting. Guests are often surprised by how exotic and elegant they appear, more like companions in a garden resort than ordinary farm birds.
Michael also tends the garden throughout the year so that it can remain beautiful and abundant for everyone. This includes watering in the evenings during the warm months, planting in spring, and cleaning and preparing the soil in fall and winter. These visits are short, respectful, and always coordinated with your comfort in mind. Many guests appreciate seeing this work, saying it adds to the sense of staying in a true home rather than a hotel. If you prefer complete privacy, simply let Michael know in advance and he will adjust.

The hens and geese moving among the basil, tomatoes, sunflowers, and turquoise fence are part of this picture — a scene of natural beauty that feels as refined and memorable as a five-star resort, only alive and personal. This Tranquil Villa
Spacious yet intimate, the villa offers both formal and informal spaces to relax. Two elegant bedrooms — one with a king bed, one with a queen bed — provide restful retreats. A third king-sized bed in the jacuzzi room adds a touch of luxury.
For flexible comfort, there are two high-quality futons crafted by The Futon Shop in California — one queen, one single — made with natural, non-toxic materials. Leather recliners in both the bedroom and living room invite deep rest.
Outside, a private walled yard opens into beauty and ease. Grill on the new gas barbecue, spend time with the hens, or simply listen to the birds. Shaded tables, flowering gardens, and nearby scenic trails invite quiet exploration or shared meals under the sky. Whether you’re here for a quick reset or a longer stay, it’s a place where lasting memories are made.
Full Private Access
Enjoy complete access to the villa — kitchen, bedrooms, living spaces, laundry room, garage, and garden. Every detail is cared for, from cozy bedding to cooling A/C, ensuring your full-body comfort.
Reconnect with Nature
Located just outside Sierra Vista, this retreat invites you to reconnect with what truly matters — your breath, your loved ones, the simplicity of a garden in bloom.
You’ll find basil, tomatoes, and sunflowers growing in the garden, with fruit trees offering shade when in season. A 100-year-old mesquite tree anchors the grounds in timeless stillness. Guests are welcome to help fill the hummingbird feeders, water the plants, or simply sit and listen to the fountains that run all day long.
Comfort with Soul
Inspired by lodges like El Tovar and Bright Angel, the villa blends rustic beauty with modern comfort. Vaulted ceilings, arched doorways, and Mexican tile details bring a sense of quiet elegance. Everything here — from the layout to the linens — supports ease and rest.
Guests often remark, “It feels just like a home.” That’s because the villa was built with the same care people reserve for their own houses, not with the shortcuts common in today’s rentals. Anderson windows and doors, solid wood finishes, and carefully chosen faucets, sinks, and countertops give the space a lasting integrity. It feels more like entering a well-kept historic building than a temporary stay — grounded, solid, and rare in its caliber.
The kitchen is refreshed between stays. Occasionally, guests will find simple staples or condiments left behind. Many appreciate this touch of continuity, though everything is always cleaned and safe.
Family-Friendly Touches
Alongside the pack-and-play, a high chair is also available upon request. Families often find the layout easy for kids, with separate bedrooms and a private yard to play in.
