I do not recommend this property, the pictures do not accurately reflect the condition. The staircase leading up to the 3rd floor had worn carpeting and holes in the walls. The lock on the apartment door was a typical indoor turn lock (like a bedroom or bathroom door) but not a secure exterior door lock. The baseboards around the door were scuffed and damaged and appeared easy to access - it did not feel comfortable for me or my daughter. There was only one bathroom and the tub looked dirty. The host said it was just painted but I was not willing to use it. There were dirty towels in one of the bedroom closets and there were either bug boxes or rodent boxes in the same closets. This was the same room that had a sign on the door that said “No Shoes in the Bedroom” and this added to the discomfort of staying in the apartment with the obvious signs of bug or rodent control. We left the apartment within 10 minutes and contacted the host with our concerns. We immediately booked a last-minute stay at the Le Meridian Hotel in downtown Philadelphia which was only $25 more than this property in North Philly. The quality was vastly different for the same price. The host originally offered a partial refund but stopped communicating with me. I regret not taking pictures, but we were in a hurry to leave. The VRBO agent was able to secure a $100 refund. I do not recommend this property for safety or cleanliness and there are many other options for the same price.
