Osprey Cottage är väl beläget för åtkomst till NC500 (North Coast 500 Route) oavsett om du reser med bil eller cykel.
Placeringen av Osprey Cottage gör att du kan göra delar av rutten på olika dagar för att ta dig till naturen.

Uthyrning på "Osprey Cottage" körs vanligtvis från lördag till lördag, anländer efter kl. 15.00 och avgår kl. 10.00.
Bytesdagar kan också vara fredagar eller måndagar så att gästerna kan njuta av korta pauser från måndag till fredag, 4 nätter med 75% av veckoprisen eller fredag till måndag, 3 nätter med 70% av veckoprisen.

"Osprey Cottage" ligger vid stranden av Cromarty Firth, denna rymliga fristående fastighet, intill ägarnas hem, har renoverats och inredd till hög standard. Fastigheten ligger bara några meter från strandlinjen. Det gör det till den perfekta platsen för fågelskådning. Ägarna har också en liten fågelskinn för gäster att använda med tillgång till stranden. De många turistattraktionerna i området ligger alla inom en kort bilresa. Stränder, destillerier, golfbanor, slott och RSPB-reserver.
Boendet består av en entré med skiffergolv, ett välutrustat kök / matsal med takbjälkar och skiffer / ekgolv. Rymligt vardagsrum, delvis öppen planlösning med takbjälkar och ekgolv med utsikt över Cromarty firth. Dubbelrum med 5 "säng, takbjälkar och ekgolv. Duschrum med toalett, handfat, duschkabin och ekgolv.

Natur- och fågelskådning: Det lokala området är rikt på både fågel- och djurliv, Cromarty Firth är en fristad för att flytta vildfåglar och vadare på våren och hösten. Firthen är också värd för delfiner med flasknäsar och olika delfiner som tittar på turer seglar från Cromarty och Inverness. De kan också ses från Chanonry Point på Black Isle.
Från april till september fiskar Ospreys längs Niggbukten bredvid stugan. Ägarna har också ett litet fågelskinn längst ner i trädgården som du är fri att använda när du bor på stugan.

RSPB har också birdehuider vid Nigg- och Udal-vikarna.

Beautiful Cottage

The cottage is beautiful and it has absolutely everything you need. The hosts have thought of everything so no last minute running to the shops and they are always availableto answer any questions. Extremely clean, very well maintained and tastefully decorated and furnished. Would highly recommend a stay.

It is a wonderful location for touring and sightseeing. It is a very comfortable cottage with all the amenities. We had a very relaxed stay for eight days.

Break Away

We had a relaxing stay at Osprey Cottage just what we needed. The cottage was very well equiped with everything you need and has a small garden which has a table and chairs ideal for sitting out with your tea/ coffee in the morning listening to all the different birds that visit the bird table. Unfortunately there isn't wifi at the cottage but we had read this in previous reviews and brought our portable mini router so it was not a problem for us. The owners Allan & Shona live close bye and are on hand if you need them. Osprey Cottage is a little gem of a cottage and would definitely recomend a stay there. Evelyn & Bob 25/06/23

Wonderful stay

La llegada a la propiedad fue fácil y expedita. Y cuando nos encontramos con la casa, quedamos maravillados. Nos recibieron un Living amplio y una hermosa vista. Leimos antes que habían aprenciones con el ruido por la noche, pero a nosotros al menos no tuvimos problemas. Es un lugar perfecto para salir a conocer o quedarse a descansar.

Tolles großzügiges Cottage

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Besitzer wohnen nebenan im Old Mill House, sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit, wenn man denn eine Frage hat oder etwas braucht. Auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen.

Lovely comfortable cottage.

Osprey Cottage was very comfortable with lots of space and a very well appointed kitchen. There was a great view of the firth and lots of birds in the garden. There weren’t too many places to eat dinner nearby but the kitchen was great to cook your own dinner. The only downside was no wifi.

Osprey cottage.....wonderful

Great property in a good location. I stayed for 3 nights as a base for trips out on a motorbike...perfect for this with good private parking and a great base to get to all of the best road and places. Very roomy and well equipped to come back to after a long day, shops locally for food and drink and excellent hosts who couldn't have been more helpful.

Great place but needs to have proper wi-fi

We very much enjoyed our stay at Allan and Shona's place. It has been converted to a very high standard, is spacious, and is very well kitted out. It has some pleasant views of the Cromarty Firth from the small garden (where our clothes dried very quickly on the washing line). It's a good base to explore the area. The bird hide was a nice extra feature. Our hosts were friendly and the welcome 'goodies' were much appreciated. We didn't find the noise from the road obtrusive but I think it would help if the speed limit for Barbaraville was extended to include the hamlet of Pollo where the property is situated. Unfortunately there is no proper wi-fi at the property. We were surprised to discover this when we arrived and we probably would not have booked the place had we known this was the case. To be clear, the listing is accurate but we more or less assume wi-fi these days, and it is becoming pretty much a requirement in these Covid times with many attractions insisting on online pre-booking. The owners did explain how to connect to the wi-fi in their house next door from close to the the window and doors but it really did not work reliably from inside the cottage. Extending the wi fi is definitely something the owners should sort out.

I am a self employed joiner and work locally.

Varför värden valde detta boende

The cottage was originally a substantial stone outbuilding and at the time there were very few self catering cottages in the local area. As we have always chosen self catering holidays we decided to give it a go and renovate and extend the cottage to make it what it is today.
