Nyligen ombyggd 2017 - Rustik stuga med moderna bekvämligheter. Stort öppet kök / matsal / vardagsrum. Privat sovrum på huvudplan med drottning logg säng och direkt tillgång till badrum. Badrummet har stor, vacker, kaklat dusch.
Om du gillar att duscha utomhus, har vi lagt till och täckt utomhusdusch med varmt vatten för att du ska trivas också! Perfekt för leriga fötter och smutsiga husdjur. Rymliga loftytor med öppet loft. Första sovrummet har vacker drottning logg säng och tre enkelsängar och är nu innesluten med en ladugård dörr stängning. Andra loft sovrummet var inneslutet 2017 också och nu har en drottning och en enkelsäng. Det nya öppna loftet är ett bekvämt sittområde med en futon för extra sovplats. Franska dörrar i vardagsrummet är öppna för en täckt veranda med plats för mycket underhållande och avkopplande. Du kan höra de lugnande ljuden av Bear Creek från veranda och eldstaden (ved tillhandahålls). Vacker utsikt runt!

Like a warm hug

Wonderfully placed along a sparkling creek in an ocean of corn and vivid autumn landscapes, this cabin is clean and welcoming! It had everything we needed! Luscious sofa where all 5 of us mothers/daughters could sit and chat, all things for cooking and eating, plenty of comfortable beds and blankets, nice shower, and we enjoyed the indoor gas fireplace and outdoor firepit complete with sunsets. Everything worked. We felt right at home and I'd love to go back (like right now!). The host is great, too. We had a fun visit in nearby Viroqua: farmers' market and vintage shops, but took extra time to relax at the cabin.

Family time at Bear Creek

Time was spent with family around the campfire and trout fishing the streams around the area. The cabin was ideal. We had everything we could ask for ... thank you Barry for sharing your cabin and beautiful property with us.

One of our favorite places

This is our fourth stay and we have such a blast every time. The property is beautiful, the kids love exploring the creek, and we love relaxing outside. It’s always incredibly clean and well maintained, and Barry is great to work with. I hope for many more long summer weekends at Bear Creek in the future!

Amazing is all I can say!!!!

We had an incredible time!!! My 5 year old grandson swam and rafted the river. We caught some dandy brown trout!!! My 87 year old had a great time. We saw a beaver, otter, deer, fox, and muskrat all from the front porch. Plenty of room, Barry checked in multiple times!! We will be back!!!

Clean as a whistle!

Wife is very picky when it comes to cleanliness. This place exceeds all her expectations. Have stayed here several times and have never seen a mouse dropping. Thats sayin alot for a place surrounded by fields!

Happy Place

We consider this property our happy place! Our family gathers here for the weekend to enjoy the beautiful landscape around the cabin, fishing, & campfires for roasting brats & marshmallows. Beautiful and restful

Bear Creek Retreat is a great location in the middle of some fantastic trout fishing. The house itself has a trout stream in its back yard that delivered some chunky 12-inchers. Barry was a phenomenal hosts who gracefully directed us to interesting streams, even circled them on a map so they were easy to find! Great experience overall!

Fishing Trip Year 2

We liked our stay so much in 2023 that we returned for 2024. Fished a host of nearby trout streams all weekend. The lodge was great, comfortable, stocked with firewood and kitchen supplies. The host Barry was very responsive and helpful. We plan on returning for another trip in the future.

Wonderful weekend getaway

The Kickapoo Valley Retreat is the perfect spot for your Driftless adventures. The cabin is clean and roomy, easily accommodated our family of five. The location is perfect. I caught a 12” brown trout within 100 feet of the front door. On our last day we saw a pair of trumpeter swans. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic

Communication, location, and cleanliness all outstanding! Very comfortable and everything you could possibly need to cook meals. Road is close enough by to travel easy but far enough you don’t hear traffic. Private and gorgeous. The binoculars on the mantel were great to spot an eagle. Don’t miss this one.

Weekend Getaway

Enjoyed staying a Bear Creek, beautiful home with a great fireplace and lots of room for the dogs to run! Quiet and private jet close to so much in the valley. This is a second stay and we will definitely be back!

We purchased this piece of land several years ago from friends and neighbors, and built the cabin bit by bit over the years with the help of many friends, family, and local craftsmen. We enjoy it's beauty and want to share it with you!

This setting is like no other. We have a top quality trout stream steps from the front door. Abundant wildlife in every season. The views are gorgeous all around. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting on the porch, watching the wildlife, hearing the sounds of Bear Creek trickling by, enjoying a fire in the fire pit after dark, and just relaxing.
