Ta bort från vad som är ondt i vår avskilda sjöstrandstuga med 3 sovrum, 2 badrum på 12 tunnland på en gated privat väg nära Cohutta vildmarken. Kasta en linje i vårt privata fiskedamm eller leriga dina feta däck, hikins stövlar eller jaktstockar på några av Georgiens vackraste bergsområden, nästan utanför dörren.

Stugan ligger på en stor, gräsbevuxen gård bredvid fiskedamm 10 miles från charmiga centrum av Ellijay. Hyr vår robusta kanot för en paddeltur eller fisketur runt dammen. Linda din pitching arm för en omgång majs hål ... majs påsar och brädor tillhandahålls. Se hjortens bete och kalkoner plocka från den omhöljande verandan. Koppla av vid lägerelden medan dina kompisar fångar några fiskar; rengör dem på vårt utomhusbord, ät dem i vårt rymliga lantkök. Ta med din fotboll, fotboll eller krokettset (?) för ett spel på gräset; kom tillbaka i huset för att återhämta sig i komfort. Lyssna på tjurfångarnas krona på dammen på kvällen.

Hemmet har alla trägolv, master och badrum i huvudsak, två sovrum och badkar på övervåningen. Sten spis med gas loggar i vardagsrummet inbjuder till varm konversation eller kvalitet TV-tid. Ja, vi har satellit-TV i vardagsrummet och övervåningen salong med massor av kanaler. Och även om vi är i backwoods, har vi också trådlöst internet!

Områdesfaciliteter: Många vandringsleder i Cohutta-bergen och vildmarken leder dig till floden Conasauga och sjön Conasauga, vattenfall och massiva "Big Poplar", det näst största trädet i norra Georgien. Mountainbike på Forest Service-vägar eller kontakta en närliggande outfitter för att ge dig upp och få dig ut. Ta en kort bilresa upp till Fort Mountain State Park för underbar utsikt över Georgia-bergen från bilen eller leden och förundras över mystiska stenruiner från en annan tidsålder. Kör till Ellijay för att få en pizza eller äta på en av de unika lokala restaurangerna. Upptäck historia, bli nostalgisk i lokala antikaffärer. Planera ditt höstbesök kring äppelskörden och Georgia Apple Festival, andra och tredje helgen i oktober. Jakt på hjort, kalkon, björn, vilda svin i Cohutta Wildlife Management Area eller tre andra WMA inom nära räckvidd. Gå med fyra hjul på spår i Conasauga-delen av Chattahoochee National Forest. Sadla upp dina hästar för åkattraktioner i National Forest eller i Fort Mountain State Park.

We were looking for a nice quiet place to rest, relax and fish. The location is nice and quiet and once our initial inquiry was answered, the communication was good. The pond could use more fish but we were able to catch and release. However, there are several things about the house that could make it more pleasurable. 1. The lockbox that houses the key is hard to open2. The lock on the canoe is really difficult and there aren't any seat backs like it shows in the picture.3. The refrigerator definitely needs to be fixed or replaced. It only keeps your food/drinks at a very minimal coolness. I had to throw away several items.4. The shower curtain in the master bath is not attached or secured and just lies on top of the shower door frame.5. The grills are charcoal. Bring your own supplies. There was some charcoal but no lighter fluid.6. There aren't any supplies like aluminum foil, plastic wrap, sandwich baggies, etc.7. There wasn't a hand soap dispenser in the kitchen.8. Be aware of the wooden block that supports the master bedroom bed frame. It can be a real hazard on your toes/foot.9. The living room furniture could definitely be updated.10. There is a musty old smell that goes with the age of the house. Maybe some air fresheners might help.11. The stove takes forever to heat up so I ended up cooking everything on the stovetop.

Fishing cabin weekend

We love this spot! We plan to visit each season. Its so beautiful and peaceful. Great place to catch up on family time, read a good book, go for a walk and just enjoy nature!

Perfect Family Getaway

This cozy cabin was perfect for our family. It allowed us to disconnect from our busy lives and spend some quality time together. My son and husband loved fishing while I sat outside with them and read. We played games and worked on a puzzle by the fire. Would 100% stay here again.

Bug infested

The only thing this place has going for them is the location. We were not able to use the upstairs portion of the house due to an Asian lady beatle infestation. Asked for a discount since we couldn’t use 3 of the 4 beds I paid for, and the owner confirmed the house was infested but she insisted they were just ladybugs. Have videos of hundreds of bugs I cleaned up from the upstairs bedrooms. It won’t let me add pictures to this review and the owner insisted she didn’t need to see the proof, but the video is going viral on TikTok. Search for “VRBO lady beatle infestation” My kids were woke by bugs crawling in their beds. I was only refunded the cleaning fee, which I’m sure the owner got back since the cleaners failed to clean the bugs out before we arrived. There were no fish to be caught in the pond. I’m sure the owner will respond with something snarky like “fishing depends on skill” however we are avid fishers with plenty of trophies on our wall, so that is definitely not the case. We never even saw a fish break the surface. Saw where several other renters have said the same. I’m guessing all of the 5 star reviews are from family/friends because there’s no way people are willingly paying to revisit this property. Couches in the living are old and smelly and the recliner needs to be taken to the dump. Owner will probably insist that I’m just looking for a free stay, however that’s not the case. This is my first ever bad review and bad experience with Vrbo.

Another Great Stay

We stay at this property a couple times every year. Fantastic location if you're looking to get away from it all. The house is comfortable with a nice gas fireplace and a well stocked kitchen. Nothing better than sitting on the wrap around porch watching the sun rise/set over the pond. We'll definitely be back.

Great location

Overall really enjoyed the stay . Very peaceful and beautiful setting. Far enough from nearest state highway that you never hear a vehicle orher than the Rare local vehicle on the dirt road. Only negative was the mattress in the master bedroom should be replaced and the lockbox is finicky and should be replaced.

Perfect getaway close to home

The location is secluded with a stocked pond very close to the house. The house is in excellent condition along with entire grounds, very well maintained. Fishing was enjoyable as was the privacy with peace of mind.

Paradise

We wanted a rustic place for a getaway. That’s exactly what we got in this cabin. It was great for my husband and me. The pond was beautiful and we caught lots of fish. The wildlife was beautiful as well. We throughly enjoyed it!!

As advertised!

This property offered peace and quiet in a nice cabin with a pond out front and it delivered. We arrived on Monday 7/29 and were going to stay until Aug 2nd. We relaxed, walked around with the dog, fished etc. I caught around 15 bass and 2 Bluegills during our stay..all released. Used artificial lures. Tuesday around 7PM a terrible storm hit and we were without power until Wed night aroun 10pm. Showered and got the cabin cooled down. Unfortunately the power only lasted untill 5am Thursday. We decided to pack up and leave a day early. We left about 10:30 am and it was still out. Thousands of people were without power so we weren't alone. The property is fantastic though..even a mowed path around the pond. No lights, no sounds other than nature. A special place I'd like to stay at again. I came prepared as usual so we did okay. Hope they have the power restored.

We're an outdoor family whose idea of a fun vacation usually involves activities in or around water, woods, and trails. This place gets us where we can have all that, plus the amenities of a charming small town and the solace of the mountains.

There's no better place to enjoy the Georgia Mountains than in our country log cabin where you're away from it all, but close to what matters.

When we're relaxing at the cabin, we like to pick up a summer novel to read on the front porch swing or warm up in winter by the fireplace gas logs. We like to feed the fish, too, and thrill at the huge lunkers who come up with mouths wide open. In the evenings, we relax on the porch rockers while the bulldogs croon on the pond. We enjoy watching wild turkeys peck and deer graze the grassy yard. The field awaits our soccer ball or your football or dinner on the ground! Sometimes we get competitive with a game of corn hole...but try to keep it fun and relaxing!
