Fly från världen på Caywood Cottage! Du kommer att känna att dina bekymmer smälter när du lämnar trottoaren bakom och slingrar dig igenom 1. 25 mil vingårdar innan du kommer hem. Denna mysiga stuga på en privat grusväg (som vi delar med Silver Thread Winery!) har moderna bekvämligheter, trädbevuxen integritet och tillgång till sjön för dem som vill koppla av, smutta och stänk.

En kort trappuppgång från vår fyrbils parkeringsplats leder dig till ett underbart stort däck. Om du kan riva dig bort från utsikten leder ytterdörren dig in i ett ljust, öppet stort rum. Det vackra inköket öppnar till vardagsrummet med en fullstor futon och en platt-TV, med Netflix och en blu-ray-spelare, komplett med ett brett utbud av videor för filmer i alla åldrar. En garderob full av spel och böcker, hjälper till att passera en tillfällig regnig dag - eller ge en välkommen distraktion efter middagen före en natt med lägereld, S'mores och Riesling! Original trägolv ger ren karaktär till hemmet och enorma bildfönster med en hisnande panoramautsikt över sjön eskortera utsidan skönheten i. Två mysiga sovrum, alla med en queen size-säng, går med i vardagsrummet och ger bekväma sovplatser för upp till 6 vuxna!

Ett komplett badrum med en ny duschkabin i hörnet och en staplad tvättmaskin hjälper dig att städa upp från en dagsvandring eller slappa vid sjön - och gör dig redo för en kväll ute på en av områdets många restauranger, vingårdar eller bryggerier.

För att få tillgång till den privata sjön, kan gästerna antingen promenera eller köra ner på grusfarten till sjön, där 50 fot privat sjöstrand, utemöbler, en eldring och brygga finns tillgängliga. Det finns parkering för 2 bilar nära skjulet, och en kanot finns för din vattenutforskning.

På östra stranden av Seneca Lake och nära västra sidan av Cayuga Lake, är Caywood Cottage omgiven av några av de bästa vingårdar, bryggerier och destillerier i området! Historiska Watkins Glen och dess käkeuttagande statspark ligger bara 25 minuters bilresa söderut, och städerna Genève och Ithaca ligger en kort bilresa bort. Fly till naturen på mindre än 30 minuter vid den majestätiska Taughannock Falls och bara 20 minuter till den lugna storslagen Finger Lakes National Forest.

Lovely cottage!

My family of 3 loved this adorable cottage! The property was just as described and so cute! There is a wood stove (wood not included) but the owners even thought to have newspaper and a lighter available. The attention to all of the details of the stay were much appreciated. We would definitely want to stay there again!

Cozy lakeside cottage in the middle of wineries

Beautiful view from the deck. The host left a complimentary bottle of wine from the vineyard you drive through and a basket of smore fixings. Yiu are on a small bluff and its a short walk to the waterfront itself. The furnace is a bit loud when it kicks in. A true lake cabin experience.

Scenic

Property owners left a welcoming note and a bottle of local wine which was greatly appreciated. Cottage has many updates. Wonderful shower! Bedrooms are small, beds are against the wall making it difficult for those who need to get up during the night. We enjoyed the deck. So many stars to see at night.

GREAT COTTAGE FOR OUR FAMILY VACATION

Overall, this cottage was comfortable for our family. There were 5 adults & a dog. We had 3 private bedrooms, a kitchen, dining area, living room, bathroom and large deck. Due to the rain for 5 out of 7 days, the deck wasn’t as comfortable to use as in sunny weather. We did use the dining table 2 times (it was pretty rugged, but with a tablecover, usable). The grill worked well. Inside, the living room was not comfortable for all of us to be seated. The window air conditioner (although appreciated) was so loud the people sitting in front of it were kept out of the conversation. The floor fan and fan on the heating unit were needed to cool the cottage at night. The linens were sufficient for the week with towels being washed on day 5 and at the end of our stay as requested by the owner. The washer was VERY musty smelling (it probably hadn’t been properly maintained). The dryer was vented through the upstairs bedroom & made it very hot, also. Both machines worked well. Detergent was provided. The kitchen was lacking in counter space. The oven & stove top worked well. There were plenty of utensils and serving pieces. The refrigerator overworked and made crystals on everything in the freezer. Not being able to drink the tap water was inconvenient, but manageable. The 2 most important things for us were: cleanliness & access. The cottage was VERY clean inside. It looked like some renovation & updating was started. More will have to be completed to continue the rates per night. The rates were high in comparison to others in the area. We had to choose this one since our choices were limited. The other major issue was the accessibility for entering from the parking area. The description did not come close to explaining the rock climbing that we had to do. There were no railings. Add the rain & slippery rocks were dangerous. Only a few of us used the beach area once due to the problem of accessing it. So disappointed. No bonfire, no kayak, no canoe no swimming due to problems getting to the water. All of the amenities were available, just not accessible. If you drive a car that’s low to the road, don’t bring it here. The road/driveway is very bumpy. The road to the beach is gravel & close to impossible to get traction on the steep hill if its wet. The view of sunsets from the deck is amazing. It is located conveniently to take day trips to towns & parks to the south.

Perfect FLX getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Caywood Cottage. Everything was exactly as described. The views of the lake from the warm cozy kitchen and living room were magnificent. The bedrooms and loft suited us and our 2 college aged kids, providing private, comfortable space for everyone. The deck was a lovely place for our dog to enjoy the lake breezes safely. We know the FLX area well and were very happy with this cottage. The owner was responsive and helpful. we highly recommend.

Perfect Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The place was wonderful and the views were spectacular. The grill needed cleaning and a couple finishes in the cabin needed minor fixing but we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Finger lakes getaway

The cottage was very relaxing and quiet with beautiful scenery. Located very close to many great wineries and breweries as well as Watkins Glen. While the home does not have a direct staircase to the water/dock, it is only a short walk. Would highly recommend to anyone. The hosts were very responsive.

Caywood cottage was amazing!

The accommodations were perfect. Very cozy cottage with a beautiful view from the large deck and open kitchen/living room. Owner was great and very responsive and helpful. Fire pit was great and the cottage was conveniently located near many great wineries and breweries. We would definitely stay again.

Vineyard heaven

This cozy cabin was located on a winding road through vineyards with a breathtaking view of Lake Seneca. When we arrived, there was a nice bottle of wine waiting for us, along with a basket of goodies to make s'mores. The cabin is cozy and charming. Great location near many wineries and restaurants. The owner was very responsive with any questions we had. We would definitely return the next time we visit the area. A magical visit!

Finger Lakes Cottage

The cottage sits on top of an 80 foot cliff bordering Lake Seneca. From the expansive deck one has spectacular, unobstructed views of the lake and beyond. Its property abuts the lake with a dock and boathouse with a canoe, two kayak and accessories. Getting to the waterfront from the house requires a quick one-half mile walk or drive on a hard-pack sand/stone road. The cottage has two bedrooms with queen beds, one bathroom, and a loft that would accommodate many children. The appliances, bathroom, and kitchen are modern and well stocked. The five star rating reflects the excellence of Greg, the owner. His quick responses to all questions and speed at correcting the occasional problem that all of our houses encounter was superb.

Awesome lake getaway

We loved staying at Caywood cabin. It seemed a bit bigger than it looked in the pictures. The deck is huge and we enjoyed stargazing there. The host was incredibly responsive and gave us great recommendations. For us the boats and life jackets totally made our stay - we went out on the lake every day as well as visiting every waterfall in the area. Perfect getaway for our family.

Amazing Deck with beautiful view

Waterfront view of lake Seneca! Very nice bathroom, excellent supply of pots, pans, cooking and eating supplies. Grill with propane tank was fun for grilling. Owner left games, movies and books. Overall a magical time.

Great house

Owners were very accommodating. The House was upgraded, clean, and perfect for us; large deck with table, chairs and grill, view of the Lake; and fire pit. Large bathroom for a small home. Could not have asked for a better guest quarters for the price. Highly recommend.

Cozy Cabin with nice views

Overall A+; very nice stay and great owners who are easy to deal with and reply quickly (usually a few hours). Overall the reviews are spot-on, so I encourage folks to read-up. The cabin itself is nice and clean, large bathroom, well stocked, and pretty comfortable. The only downsides are minor, being the property is about a 10 minute drive off the highway and you have to drive or walk to the dock. I also recommend an all-wheel drive if you are hauling a family or large cargo.

Would love to book immediately for next summer, but…

My husband and two college age kids spent a wonderful 6 days. The rental was clean, well stocked, as advertised, beautiful view, deck had a great combination of shade and sun, good access to the water by car (might be tougher after days of rain). Daily views of bald eagles was a special bonus. Close to many day trips with plenty of time to relax in the water or enjoy the view. Our only disappointment was that we went to book the cottage for a week next year and found that the pet policy had changed and the price had increased significantly. Thought we had found our annual rental. 😢

Great place to spend a week

House was clean. Neighbors were friendly. So much to do in the area if you don't want to spend all of your time at the lake. Lake was beautiful.

The most relaxed we've felt in a long while

My family had the very best time at Caywood Cottage! The place was perfectly clean and stocked with everything you need. The short walk to the boat house is easy and nice. We loved getting out on the water as well as exploring the national forest, local wineries & breweries. Pretty much the perfect get-away!

Comfortable cottage

House was clean and check-in was easy. Everything needed for a comfortable stay is provided. Deck is spacious and the view of the lake is awesome. Only downside is there is no direct access to the water- you must walk/drive back down the road and then through about a dozen other waterfront areas belonging to other properties to get to the dock and boathouse. Overall the cottage was great and met our needs. Thanks, Greg!

Fabulous Place and Location
