Clean unit -- but lots of issues.
Good points: the unit was very clean and the owner was quick to respond by text.Issues: 1. There was one very small old air conditioner in the living room -- it did not cool the unit at all. The owner bought 3 small fans and advised us to open the windows. However the windows did not have screens or had large holes in the screens. Bugs flew in and got in my bed. There was a heat advisory of 90 degrees during our stay. The owner said house wiring would not support air conditioners, which is unsafe wiring. The windows showed marks of prior air conditioners. 2. The door lock codes were difficult. There is only one entrance -- a very steep and winding staircase that is difficult to climb and carry suitcases up. No fire escape or other way out. Not a very safe set up.3. Fridge stopped working on our third day -- we did not realize it since the light still came on and the door seals were tight. All our food spoiled -- we lost 80 of food and could not cook meals at the unit. We asked for a refund for the food and did not get a response.4. It seemed like the owner had not thought about the renter's comfort -- there was no dishwasher -- which is ok -- but there was no dish drying rack either. There are 3 bedrooms -- there were only 4 hangers in one closet. There were no towel racks on the bedroom doors or in the bathroom to hang up 3 people's wet towels. 5. There were burnt out light bulbs all through the house. The walls had lots of nail holes and paint chips.
