Canât say enough about this house. Right across the road from a kayak put-in spot, a great view of northern Kaneohe bay (with no view of the military base), and a well supplied garage with 3 kayaks (one can serve as a double in a pinch), boogie boards, snorkel gear, and even a collapsible beach cart for lugging gear from your carâwe used them all numerous times.
The house is beautiful, very well maintained and was spotless when we showed up. The pictures on VRBO are very accurate, and only leave out the colorful front yard. The kitchen is well-stocked, including a wide array of spices. We were welcomed with a tray of fresh fruit, a bag a 100% Kona coffee, a box of chocolate Macadamia nuts, and an invitation to pick avocados from the backyard tree. A plus for us was a super friendly outdoor neighborhood cat named Maui (we are cat people). Maui hung around on the lanai, but was very good at not coming into the house. Groups not partial to or allergic to cats shouldnât worry, as Maui is not overly pushy.
The only drawback to the house is that it is on highway 830âa secondary route through the areaâ which can bring road noise in if you like to sleep with open windows like we do. But I would classify traffic on the road as intermittent to light, especially at night. A previous reviewerâs comment about confusing light switches has been rectified with labels on all of the kitchen and great room switches, and a glitch with one of the toilet valves was addressed right away by the property manager, Kara, once I told her about it.
All in all we had a great stay and hope to stay here again in the near future.
