Denna traditionella stuga i Clare-stil ligger på sin egen plats i byn Ballyvaughan. En 2 minuters promenad, 250 m, tar dig till byn och hamnen. Den stora platsen möjliggör god bilparkering och generösa trädgårdar i en privat och lugn miljö. Stugan rymmer 8 personer i fyra sovrum med 2 dubbelsängar, 4 enkelsängar och en barnsäng. Alla sängkläder tillhandahålls. tre av sovrummen har ett badrum med dusch / tvättställ / toalett. Ytterligare toalett / duschrum serverar resten av stugan. En hög standard av traditionella handgjorda furumöbler kompletterar några intressanta funktioner i stugan. Dessa inkluderar gjutna gipsade väggar, 2 trätrappor och en balkong på första våningen. Vardagsrummet / matsalen är huvudrummet i stugan med en spis med fast bränsle i ett traditionellt skorstenbröst med trägolv och träklädda katedraltak. Köket har karaktär och innehåller alla moderna inredningar. Elektrisk centralvärme värmer upp vattnet och stugan.

Allmänt: Hyresperioden börjar klockan 16.00 lördag och slutar klockan 10. 30 påföljande lördag. Andra arrangemang kan göras på begäran, vi är väldigt flexibla.
Vi accepterar betalningar via banköverföring och du kan också betala med kreditkort via PayPal.
Upphämtningsplatsen för nycklarna är i stugan själv. Vänligen meddela vårdnadshavaren din ankomsttid.
Sänglinne tillhandahålls. Handdukar tillhandahålls.
I köket finns en brandsläckare och en filt. Rökalarm finns över varje landning.
Observera att vi är mycket flexibla när det gäller ankomst- och avgångsdatum och -tider.

El: Den el du använder debiteras € 0. 35c per enhet som används på dagmätaren och 0 €. 25c per enhet som används på nattmätaren.
En E. S.B. (el) mätaravläsning görs före ankomst och igen före avresan. Det belopp som ska betalas för el måste betalas till vårdgivaren före avgång.

Avslag: En soptunna (hjul) finns utanför stugan och avfallet samlas in en gång i veckan. Använd de medföljande avfallssäckarna och placera inte löst avfall i papperskorgen.

Tidy and comfortable

We enjoyed our stay, and found the cottage to be tidy and comfortable. It's an easy walk into town for supplies or a meal. It was a great home base for day trips, and the host was very responsive.

Great family accommodations in Ballyvaughan

We loved our 4-day stay in the Caher Cottage in Ballyvaughan. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 (3 teenagers) and ample outdoor space to hang out as well. A very short walk (5 minutes!) to the pubs and shops in the village, a short drive to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway City. We tried almost all the pubs and restaurants, and got groceries at the SPAR in the village and cooked in the cottage. It was a fantastic place to stay, highly recommend!

Dejligt hus i skønne Irland

Vi nød opholdet i det hyggelige, velindrettede hus. Savnede bedre/større gryder, pander og skåle for madlavning til 7 voksne. Rengøring af bl.a loftsvindue påkrævet. Vi kommer dog gerne igen

Aucun accueil dans cette location globalement mal entretenue et sale. Mouches mortes, toiles d'araignees, moisissures diverses... Vaisselle douteuse, insuffisante et disparate. Eau chaude aléatoire avec compresseur trés bruyant. Mico ondes vetuste. Porte de la machine a laver cassée. Matelas souillé (Nous avons des photos de tout cela). Nous avons alerté le propriétaire et ABRITEL, sans retour pour le moment.. Le paiement de l'electricité nous a été soumis à un prix stupéfiant (0,52€ le kw/ au lieu de 0,25€ en moyenne en Irlande) Nous n'avons pas payé. Rien n'indiquait de le faire dans notre contrat. Nous aimons l'Irlande depuis 20 ans. Jamais en Europe nous n'avons vecu une telle deception. Nous revendiquons un dédomagement à la hauteur du préjudice subi... ABRITEL a promis d'y repondre. Affaire à suivre. Cette location devrait être retirée du marché. Les plaintes sont nombreuses et pour certaines, anciennes ! Bien cordialement P. ROLLAND

Could have been a lot better.

Location was very good, description was misleading. Not clean, beds very uncomfortable. Cottage felt cold & unused for 1st 3days, Had to get a replacement electric kettle & microwave. Eletric stove old & very slow. Information book was dated 2013 as was some items left in kitchen cabinets. We booked this before Covid, & should have been in Cottage #5 ? No explanation why we were changed to next-door. Not sure if it would have been cleaner/ better. Hot water couldn't coupe with showers & banged loudly when refilling. We were VERY disappointed, the Cottage could have been good if taken care of.

Good location, terrible mattresses

The good: Lovely location, very central to Ballyvaughan. Fine big back garden, great for kids to run around. The bad: Mattresses were terrible, you could feel every spring on each bed. The cot mattress was particularly bad and covered in stains. Overall the place needed a deep clean and the showers needed updating

We had a really enjoyable holiday in Caher cottage.

The cottage was very comfortable and clean and met all our expectations. The good weather meant we could enjoy the garden and uninterrupted views of the burren.

Great stay in a lovely location

Caher cottage is a great rural cottage in a perfect location for exploring the Burren and Co. Clare. The cottage is nice and spacious and for a group of eight was perfect. The owner responded quickly and professionally when contacted. Would highly recommend!

Positives zuerst: die Lage keine 500 m vom Wild Atlantic Way entfernt ist super. Die Aussicht auf den Burren ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Allerdings muss man in dem Haus schon Glück mit dem Wetter haben, damit man möglichst viel woanders unternehmen kann. Zunächst waren wir (6 Erwachsene) etwas erstaunt, dass keine persönliche Schlüsselübergabe stattfand. Das Zurechtfinden in Haus und Umgebung blieb komplett uns überlassen. Der Vermieter ist trotz allem ein sehr freundlicher Mensch. Trotzdem: schon von Außen sieht man den Instandhaltungsstau, Innen wird es leider nicht besser. Da ist der viel zu laute Wasserboiler, der jedesmal, wenn sich jemand in die Dusche traut noch eins der kleineren Übel. Kleinigkeiten summieren sich hier zu einer Warnung: Glühbirnen waren defekt, Elektroinstallation teilweise lebensgefährlich, Spinnweben im ganzen Haus, Duschvorhänge, die nicht wirklich sauber sind, ein kaputter Kühlschrank (funktioniert zwar, aber man kann nichts in die Tür stellen), kaputte Waschmaschine (Glastür gebrochen), muffiger Geruch überall... Wir waren froh, dass wir a. gutes Wetter hatten (s.o.) und b. als wir wieder weg gefahren sind. Schade

Ballyvaughan Cottage

A rustic cottage in a great location. It worked well for us,providing us with enough bedrooms. However the mattresses weren’t that comfortable. Could use a better mattress especially in the master bedroom. Kitchen worked well. Showers are very small, but it is a small cottage. The owner responded very quickly to any requests which was impressive. The two pubs in town were great- Greene’s and O’Lochlin’s. As well there is a convenience store in the village. An hour’s drive to get to Galway. Overall it worked well for us.

Great location

Fantastic location, nice house. Property owner easy and helpful to communicate with. Currently having to pay for electricity, meters read at beginning and end of break. Not comfortable with this as currently no energy efficient bulbs or method of heating. There are old storage heaters bit no instructions for these. Also two showers work off immersion heater, no instruction given as to where this is or that you need to do this. House was clean. Double bed mattresses need replacing and owner has said he will do this. Such a lovely spot and an impressive spacious cottage. Would be happy to recommend if these issues are sorted. It was the most expensive cottage we hired so we expected not to have these basic niggles.

In need of deep cleaning, fixing and modernisation

The house was spacious and well located. However, it needed a clean, showers were dirty and moldy in the corners. Fittings (loo holder, door bracket for lock etc ) fell off. Kettle needed cleaning/ rescaling. Radiators were FILTHY. Towels did not seem clean enough, and no bath towel for everyone, so had to share! No Wi-Fi. Broken garden bench, so unable to sit outside. Dining table sticky! Overall dirty and poor fittings. Was left note that we had to check meter readings and pay for electricity - we were not made aware of this prior and it was not in the contract. Would not be retuning and would not recommend.

Sehr schönes gemütliches Haus

Tolle Lage. Einkaufsmöglichkeit, Pubs, Restaurants, Imbiss zu Fuss erreichbar. Platz draussen für Kinder zum Spielen, liegt an sehr ruhiger Strasse. Viele Ausflugsziele in der Nähe (z.B. Cliffs of Moher). Vermieter sehr nett.

Short walk to the village by foot! Beautiful surroundings! The best restaurant was the Monks! Fresh seafood. Poor service from Home Away but good service from the owner!

A sweet cottage in the lovely coastal village of Ballyvaughan

A great cottage to have a home base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way. The rooms are comfortable and light, with plenty of room for two families with children. An upgrade might be to add WiFi, but it was nice to take a break from the inter-webs for a while. A walk to the local pub provided all the access we really needed. Rainbows out the back door were the added bonus. This cottage is a great place to have as a home base to explore the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Galway, and even as far as Connemara. We loved staying in Caher Cottage.

Perfect location,on the Wild Atlantic Way, to explore the west of Ireland. Plenty to do & see in locality. Good restaurants & pubs in the village. Fine cottage with character and big garden.

My father was born in Clare and my family have been in Clare since before record keeping commenced. As children we used to go to Ballyvaughan for a swim,a walk and an ice cream. In medieval times the McNamara clan were known as Builders. This is my occupation and I built this cottage as a holiday home for our family in 1997. Thats me taking in some fresh air on the green road over Black Head.

Ballyvaughan village is in a beautiful location on the coast of Galway Bay in the heart of the Burren in County Clare, Ireland. It is located on the Wild Atlantic Way sea route that runs along the west coast of Ireland.
The sea and mountains around here are completely pure and unspoilt and will remain so because the village is now located within a national park.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The village grew up in the 19th century around its harbour and it developed as a small fishing port. Its piers are very much a part of the village today and there is fishing and boat hire from the harbour. There are blue flag beachs nearby.
However Ballyvaughan is now known for its location in the mysterious Burren region, a mecca for botanists and walkers. The many attractions close by include Ailwee Caves, Newtown Castle Fanore Beach, the Green roads and the mountain / sea views at Black Head.
The village is very well serviced by its pubs and restaurants.A short drive will bring you to Ennis or the very lively Galway city.
