En 15 minuters vandring tar dig till landmärket Coyote Hole-tvätt, som först upptäcktes på 1860-talet, med forntida petroglyfer högt upp på klipporna. Besök på våren för att se den majestätiska öknen bli grön och blomstra.

Håll ögonen öppna så ser du en mängd olika djur inklusive, coyoter, vaktlar, ugglor, fladdermöss, rävar, chuckwallas, ödlor, hökar, väglöpare, ormar, bobcats, brummande fåglar, gamar och massor av kaniner. Fantastic!

We loved this property in Joshua Tree. So much area to explore with great sitting areas and fire places inside and out. Kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of extras such as binoculars, sleeping mats, etc. It was VERY peaceful and we loved hiking around the area and looking at the stars at night.

Excellent, recommended

I can't say much that hasn't been said already. I agree with all the other five-star reviews and will add mine to it. Great property, great backstory, loved being able to climb and walk right out the door. The nearby San Bernardino wildlife preserve is hugely underrated and is a great place for a quiet morning hike. Didn't see sheep or turtles though. Maybe next time.

Girl Trip visiting Joshua Tree wildflowers

We had a wonderful trip. House was great. Loved the rocks and the feeling of being away from everything. We saw many beautiful wildflowers in JT and hiked all over the park. Thank you for a nice relaxing stay.

Stunningly Beautiful…Hiking & Stargazing Paradise…all to yourselves!

A truly spectacular piece of property! You will never stay at another property like this one! Endless hiking trails for all ages. The house is well stocked and immaculately well kept! Don’t choose ANY other house if you are looking for the best stay possible in Joshua Tree! We will revisit for sure!

Howlllll!!!

This property is amazing! I highly recommend staying here if you like to hike, stargaze, coyote watch and overall relax off the grid! Matthew the owner is extremely responsive and a pleasure. He has paid attention to detials in the home to make your stay effortless. The sunrise and sunset views are spectacular. We spent every day in Joshua Tree and returning after a long day of hiking it was like coming "home". Look for the Jack Rabbits as well as the evening parade of coyote outside the front door!! We were lucky enough to be serenaded each night by the Coyote Crew! Awesome! Great location, great house, great experience. Will definatly rent from Matthew again. Do it, you won't be sorry!

Worth every penny!

We have a fantastic visit! The host adequately describes the property. The house is nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds comfy. But the property itself makes it a once in a lifetime experience. My daughter wanted to go to Joshua Tree to climb rocks so she was astounded when we drove up. We have a lot of the world to see through her eyes, but if we ever come back to JT, we will absolutely stay here.

Host was super helpful!

Fantastic location and grounds. We had a great time hiking, star gazing, hanging out, and jumping off into the park. We did have heater trouble though. The host was immediately responsive, got repair people right on it, and kept following up with us to see to it we were taken care of. He’s a class act. We would definitely stay here again!

Just as great the second time

This is our second stay at the property. It was fantastic before, and was fantastic again. The owner made a few upgrades over the year which were very much appreciated, namely the tiled patio area which helped to keep the house clean from sand and the markers on the property to tell you the different landmarks. We didn’t cook last time, but we did this time because we found many of the restaurants were closed probably due to Covid. The kitchen had everything that we needed, and then some.

Beautiful!

A magical place to spend time, we climbed rocks and explored the beautiful desert right outside the door without driving anywhere. We arrived at 10:30pm in the pitch dark and got to the house easily with the excellent directions. The house was spotless and so comfortable. We hope to return soon!

Majestic

My 8 year old says, "Super great but I got a lot of scratches from climbing rocks. It was really fun, we saw lizards and rabbits. When can we go back?" I stayed at 100 Acres for 2 nights with my husband and 2 boys, ages 5 and 8. This desert escape is exactly what we needed. The property is secluded, yet easy to get to. It is extremely peaceful and the surrounding rocks are stunning and majestic. At night, the star gazing is out of this world, literally! We could see NEOWISE with the naked eye. We really enjoyed exploring! The house is well appointed with comfortable beds, kitchen necessities and games for the kids. We are already looking at the calendar to go back!

Awesome stay at Joshua Tree Paradise

Our family of 6 loved our 2 night stay at this property. The kids had a blast exploring the land and climbing the huge mountains of boulders all over the property. Patio and fire pit were great for evening s’mores. The whole family fell asleep in the outdoor beds we set up under the stars both nights. Even though it is more of a double-wide type home, it was exceptionally clean and the showers were amazing. Highly recommend. Great place!

Excellent Location near Joshua Tree entrance.

This property is off the grid! If you’re looking for rest, relaxation with nature steps away, this is the place for you. Cool atmosphere with hikes onsite! The house is perfect with a retro themed decor and has exactly all the extras you need and I was glad to bring my pups with us. They loved it! Thanks Matthew for sharing your paradise with us!!

Great home for a family vacation

We have stayed here a few times before and it never disappoints, the home is spacious and comfortable to stay in, clean and furnished great for a family. Everything is well stocked and the kitchen is large enough and had all we needed to cook all our meals there for 5 people. Photos do not do the location justice and it is such an amazing property and the patio area is great to hang out and the kids get to explore and have a lot of fun with that. The adults also loved all the walking we could do without having to drive anywhere. The location is great for the park and other local attractions and there are large supermarkets within driving distance. I would highly recommend this house for a family holiday, the property is great fun for all to get out and exercise and enjoy the views and the stars at night and the house is great for hanging out and spending some time together without work or school!. We had a very relaxing time and it was very sad to leave

Just a very special place with so much to explore! Highly recommend for anyone that wants to be active on the property site. It’s like having your own park to yourself. I’ve been twice now with two different groups and both have been floored with the property. Will be back again!

Matthew Patrick is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the Directors Guild of America. He is a photographer and an Academy Award Nominated film director. Matthew lives with his wife and 2 children in Hollywood. Joshua Tree Paradise is his favorite place on earth and is a constant source of inspiration and wonder for him.

In 1991 I visited Joshua Tree National Park and instantly fell in love with its unusual beauty. It feels like another world, yet Is close to Los Angeles I wanted land like the Park, so I purchased a 2.5 acre parcel in 1992. I camped on it often, sleeping under the stars. Even now I prefer to sleep outside over at Rock City, and rarely sleep in the house, regardless of the weather or season.

As time went on, I realized I didn't want any neighbors, so I bought the land around me. The property now totals 10 parcels and 100 acres. It's a half mile long and quarter mile wide. To walk the perimeter can take a day. If you walk towards the road, you will find tall cliffs and a deep wash, which is Coyote Hole, a landmark you will find in the guidebooks.

If you're a rock climber, you already know Joshua Tree National Park is one of the most famous and amazing spots to climb in the world.

Keep your eyes open and you'll see a wide variety of animals including, coyotes, quail, owls, bats, foxes, chuckwallas, lizards, hawks, road runners, snakes, bobcats, vultures, and lots of rabbits. There are yucca, Joshua trees, cholla, and a variety of cacti, juniper, cat's claw and many other plants. Visit in springtime to see the majestic desert blooms.
