Domus Claudiae är en 48 kvm charmig lägenhet några minuters s promenad från St Peter och Vatikanstaten, gamla Trastevere och Roms historiska centrum.
Det är nedsänkt i ett grönt och tyst kring och har speciellt inredda av ägaren Claudia med ursprungliga fresker att "se ut som en gammal romersk bostadshus i Pompeji eller Herculanum.
Den innehåller ett kök och matsal för 4 personer utrustade med elektriska apparater (tvättmaskin, brödrost, vattenkokare mm ...) ett badrum med dusch med svarta och vita plattor från början av trettiotalet, ett sovrum med dubbelsäng och ett rymligt vardagsrum med en convertibile soffa (dubbelsäng) fåtölj och satellit-tv satt .air konditioneringen är i varje rum och internet wifi.

The apartment is in a great location. We booked it because it could sleep more than 2; however, the sofa bed was terrible for sleeping--lumpy and not level. Great for 2 but not more.

Wonderful Stay

My wife and I booked this wonderful room through VRBO and we were so pleased and happy with the room and the owners accommodations. We had a fabulous time. Take you Rome!!! We’ll be back.

Relaxing in Rome

The property was great . . . very central location for both sight-seeing and dining. Updated, nice, clean and spacious accommodations. Communication with Emanuele (property manager) was very easy; he was always responsive providing us valuable information, in particular regarding transit to and from the apartment, including arranging for our transport to the airport for our departure. We highly recommend this apartment and would stay here again.

We loved our 4 night stay here! The location is great- close enough to everything you want to see but just far enough away from the noise and crazy! The check in process was great and the team was very responsive. Would definitely recommend!

Upper Trastavere Perspective

This bright, quiet, creatively decorated apartment provided us with a peaceful stay in Roma. Access to the small travel library was an added plus. I found the quaint Art Deco style bathroom adequate but shower had a step up making it difficult for an mature adult to enter and exit. We loved the location, a convenience store and nice caffe just around the corner. Thank-you Sara for your kindness and cheerfulness during the check-in and with the car hire to the cruise ship port it was much appreciated.

Wonderful space in an ideal location

I spent a week in this location and couldn’t have been more happy. Throughout the booking and arrival process all my questions were answered promptly and they were so helpful and accommodating, even accommodating a small last minute change without problem. On arrival we were given a warm welcome and all information we could need was laid out. The space was really nice and clean and as it looked in the photos. I appreciated having so many amenities such as kettle, washing machine, cloths, crockery etc. The location is really great, I felt very safe and it was nicely central. I was able to get to St Peters within a ten minute walk so I was able to drop in there in the mornings before the crowds got too intense. The Trastevere area is wonderful for restaurants and atmosphere and the location was easy to walk to for the city centre. I’d really recommend this location. Only having one key meant a little bit of coordination with the friend I was staying with, but overall I had a terrific experience with this location.

Nice apartment in perfect location

We very much enjoyed staying at Domus Claudiae, a uniquely decorated apartment with very Roman-like paintings. We easily could explore the whole of the city center and its many features on foot from its perfect location. The owners were always willing to assist with our queries. One caveat, though: accessing the apartment would be difficult for physically impaired guests.

Super !

Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour. L’apparmement est très bien situé, calme, clair et spacieux. Il est également très original tant intérieurement par la deco , qu’exterieurement. C’est presque un miracle à 2 pas des immeubles et du trafic de la rue le long du fleuve de trouver ce petit havre de paix ... Le Check-in était sans problème malgré le retard de notre avion , sans problème aussi la voiture réservée en même temps. Seule remarque pour améliorer encore le séjour : des rideaux occultants seraient souhaitables sur les fenêtres de la chambre car le matin c’est très lumineux... nous recommandons à 100% !

Great location!

This apartment was in the perfect area for us. Very close to the Vatican and within walking distance to many of the places we wanted to see. It was simply amazing to have a place we felt at home in and not a hotel!

Tired

The apt has a quiet location but is not close to the charm and hub of Trastevere. The apt has a comfortable bed, nice hot water, and the person hired to check us in was very helpful and pleasant. The down side is the apt. has a neglected appearance; there were stains on the sofa cover, broken arm on the sofa, broken curtain hooks, down comforter was very worn and feathers were escaping through the patched spots, hole in the cover sheet, bathroom light shade had burn marks, light bulb out on a floor lamp and walls were in need of paint. The bathroom needed better cleaning around the sink and the shower walls. There is a definite lack of attention and care to this apt. This the first VRBO we found disappointing. We did not feel that there is pride and ownership of this property.

Great place in a great location

This property was in a great location for walking or catching a bus to get around. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood, has a large bed and a nice size den for relaxing after a long day! Very clean and well kept. The only thing you should know is that there is a small water tank so hot showers need to be quick. There were just two of us so we timed them far enough apart so neither of us ran out of hot water (after it happened once)

Safe and convienent

This apartment was extremely safe! Just steps from the river but very quiet and I had the best sleep. Comfortable bed, everything you needed to cook meals, a great stay. My only issue is the way you are required to bring cash to pay. On this long Italian trip I’ve pre-paid all other homeaway reservations. Carrying that much cash halfway around the world is not safe. Which is why I only stayed 2 nights. I would definitely go back when they started taking credit card payments, it’s such a great location.

Beautiful apartment blocks from all the best Rome sights!

We loved this little apartment! It is so close to all the best sights in Rome. Almost every evening we ate dinner in Vatican City and it was beautiful. The apartment is well appointed, so we could enjoy an espresso (and maybe an American style breakfast) before our adventures, come back to a cool oasis in the afternoon for siesta and then venture out again. We always felt totally safe. The hosts even arranged our transportation to the airport. We recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a centrally located place in Rome!

Domus Claudiae Apartment was lovely!

The apartment in Domus Claudiae was a lovely experience. It was beautiful inside with the owner's painted walls, high ceilings and all the amenities needed. It was a perfect location to the city centre; it was about a 15 min walk to the centre but lots of other restaurants and shopping close by. It was also close to the great monuments, Vatican, forts and castles etc. We really enjoyed our stay; the bed was very comfortable, more on the firm side, which I love. We would recommend staying here and we would definitely come back to Domus Claudiae! Thanks so much for hosting us!

Perfect!

My husband and I (both retired) stayed in this elegant, perfectly located apartment for a week. The wall paintings are indeed works of art that pay homage to the Roman Wall Paintings in the Villa Farnesina just up the street. We enjoyed coming back here after a long hot day of walking in the city. The location is 2 blocks from the #64 bus stop by a bridge across the Tiber. Trastevere is the best place to stay in Rome.The apartment is off an alley and is very quiet - day and night. It is reached by a very short walk up a stone staircase on Via Sant'Onofrio. The street at the foot of this narrow alley leads to the heart of Trastevere with all its small restaurants, gelaterias and other charming places. We recommend not eating just pasta and pizza - those offerings are ubiquitous. There really are excellent dishes in Rome in addition to the ordinary fare. Be adventurous! From the apartment, we walked all over Rome. The Vatican is about 20 minutes away and once we crossed the Tiber, all the neighborhoods that interested us were within walking distance. We did buy a Rome Pass and enjoyed hopping on and off buses when necessary. The management firm is excellent! Emanuele and Sara respond to emails and phone calls very quickly. All the information provided was accurate and helpful. It is possible to get here from the airport by the Leonardo Da Vinci train to Termini and then the #64 bus. It works very well. We did use the limo service recommended by the management when we went back to the airport. The apartment really is as promised in the description. There are small local shops where we bought food to prepare in the apartment. Larger markets are about 20 minutes on foot - but easily doable - even for retirees. Enjoy this real gem. We will stay here again if we return to Rome.

Comfortable, clean, quiet and aesthetically pleasing

We enjoyed our four night stay at Domius Claudiae. It's just as attractive as the pictures, with a nice, full kitchen. Emanuele was a welcoming host. It's near busy streets but is very quiet. Just a heads up if you're older or have any disabilities: the side street it's on goes up some stone and cobblestone steps to reach the front door. We are 71 and 65, fairly fit, and managed pretty well. There's a good restaurant on the corner, and we liked being right near Castel Sant'Angelo and the bridge. Easy to walk over the bridge and get to the various big sights, like Ancient Rome, Trevi and Spanish steps. It's very close to the Vatican. The neighborhood is not-quite Trastevere, but still near enough to get to on foot or bus.

Best place we stayed in three weeks!

Lovely apartment, very well located

Hidden from the crowds of Rome is a lovely apartment inside and out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Interior is bright and the murals make the space seem even larger. The location allowed us to walk everywhere, and even come back for a break between jaunts. Only thing to watch is that hot water capacity is limited, so either take very short showers (or take the first one).

Exactly like the picture.

This apartment was wonderful. The location was great. My daughter and I stayed here for a week and it was great. The only negative was the hot water. The heater is very small, so 2 people trying to shower in the morning is pretty hard to do. I would recommend it!
