Beech Mountain is tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by rolling peaks and thick forests that explode with color in the fall. The neighborhood has a cozy, laid-back vibe— think winding roads like Beech Mountain Parkway dotted with chalets, cabins, and friendly little spots like Fred's General Mercantile. In winter, it transforms into a snowy playground with Beech Mountain Resort just minutes away with 17 runs and a family-friendly vibe. Summer's just as magical, with trails like the Emerald Outback for hiking and biking, and we can't stop talking about the views from 5,400 feet up.
What I enjoy most? Hands down, it's the chance to explore with my family. We're big on traveling together, and Beech Mountain delivers. I love hitting the trails or just chilling on a deck with a coffee, soaking in the mountain air.
Winter's a blast too; the free sledding hill behind the Brick Oven Pizzeria gets tons of praise and it's perfect for the little ones. The community's tight-knit but welcoming, and there's this sense of adventure-whether it's skiing, spotting birds or grabbing a craft beer at Beech Mountain Brewing Co., which skiers rave about. It's our little slice of calm and fun, far from Chicago's hustle, and I wouldn't trade it.
