Very nice, would book again

The room could use " better" lighting as it is dark. The TV in bedroom could not get to work. Other than that, it was very enjoyable.

Great Ski Lodge Feel

We enjoyed our ski trip at this condo very much. It was clean and had all the necessities for preparing breakfast before hitting the slopes. The gas fireplace logs are a real bonus!

We had a great experience at Mat & Penni's. Very comfortable place with all the amenities we needed. Proximity to the slopes was excellent - from the ski locker downstairs to the actual lift is about 150 meters. Being in the heart of River Run Village, you are close to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Location!

Very nice property. Short walk to the ski lift and in the middle of the ski village for access to restaurants and shopping. We had a small issue with the unit and the owner was very responsive and had the issue corrected on the same day (which was Sunday). The unit was roomy and quite comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location!

Best location on the mountain! Well decorated and equipped with a big bathroom and huge and very comfortable king size bed. There is no balcony but that was fine because you still have a beautiful view of the mountain. We slept 4 but it is a little better suited for 2 people. Parking was great too! Can’t wait to return

Enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our stay at Black Bear lodge. The condo was clean and we enjoyed the outdoor pool within walking distance. When we discovered we needed pillow cases the owners immediately took care of it. Being on the 4th floor it is a little warm at night in the summer. Another fan in the room would be helpful.

Black Bear Lodge Keystone weekend

Wonderful quick weekend to ski Keystone. Our 1 bedroom place was very nice, incredibly convenient to the lifts and village restaurants. The condo was well kept, updated, well furnished and comfortable. Mat and Penni were very accommodating and responded quickly to all our calls - very easy to work with. This was our first time staying at Keystone and we will definitely be back. We loved the village, convenient location of Black Bear Lodge and the Keystone ski runs. A fun weekend we look forward to doing again soon!

J&J Samples Review

Mat & Penni have a great place in prime location in the village. We had a poor experience in Arapahoe last year and were a bit leary but were very satisfied!! We felt that communication was awesome which often is not the case. Keep up the good work guys:)

Great location, however: furniture outdated, very worn. Couch not made for short legged folks; chairs sank to floor when you sat in them; You needed a stool to get in the master bed (owners must have been NBA players). However, in lew of these things, location is everything and this condo fit that bill.

Jan 2020 ski week

Black Bear lodge is our favorite in Keystone River Run thanks to the proximity to the gondola. The vaulted ceilings make the condo feel bigger than most and the check in process is much easier than other services since you can retrieve your key onsite from a lockbox without having to run around town to check in at an offsite office. We had a couple of small issues but they were handled promptly by Matt and his team. Another great week skiing in Keystone (7 years in a row).

Cozy Condo

We had a wonderful time in Keystone / River Run! This condo was very cozy and we had everything we needed. We do wish we would have known that there was major construction going on outside our window as it was very loud. We left our windows open for the mountain breeze but the noise was frustrating. During our stay, there was festival going on. The porta potty's were also lined up right outside our window which was also not ideal. The smell and the noise made us want to close our windows but we needed the cool air.

Great location

The location is perfect - very close to the gondola. Pluses: large fireplace, nice view, bed/bedding, shower – water pressure and shower head, appreciated the water filter pitcher in the fridge. Minuses: only one key card provided – those things are unreliable and one key doesn’t allow you to split up; very strict on check in/check out times; only one small hot tub on the property (which was scalding hot one day we were there!) with others at Dakota which isn’t that close when you’re in a swim suit; the kitchen is very small and could use with a few more provisions – namely there was only one skillet which made cooking meals difficult (there were pots, but only one pan). The unit is very close to the elevator which is convenient, but you do hear the “ding” every time someone uses it. We had a little trouble getting clear answers to our questions and the internet wasn’t working when we were there. All in all a great place, but obviously a managed property rather than an individually owned “BnB” type rental.

Okay stay despite processes

The property was mostly clean (see below) and was in a great location. Really, the location couldn't be beat. However, the check-in and out process was cumbersome. The emails explaining how to access keycards upon check-in were easily the longest, hardest to read, emails I have received in the past year. The instructions for checking out were nearly as bad. The only two complaints I have about the unit itself was that we could hear the (super slow) elevator at all hours of the night. Also, while I think the sheets on the bed were washed and changed, it appeared there was a very small amount of blood on the sheet. We took that sheet off for the length of the stay and I didn't contact management about it. I can't say I'd recommend this unit to anyone nor would I stay in it myself again.

Construction

There was major construction where a new townhome community is being built, less than 100 ft from the property. This changed the advertised view/ online pictures and added a lot of noise, starting at 7am every morning. This new construction project was not advertised. I spoke with the property manager and he offered an alternate property that was further from the ski gondola. We decided to stay, thinking there would be no construction on the weekend. There was construction on Saturday, but not on Sunday. We received a small discount off the price. Otherwise, the property was very nice.
