Our family of 5 stayed for 4 nights. While we had enough room, we found a few things lacking.
First, as other reviewers have shared, there is a lack of privacy. The âmasterâ is a loft over the living room and shares a bathroom with the kidsâ bunk room. Also, the closets are locked and canât be used.
Second, there is no overhead lighting in the living rooms/ bdrms at all, and the lamps that are available are very old and donât put out a lot of light. The house is in a wooded area, so even on sunny days, thereâs not much outside light coming in.
Third, the very large sofa looks super inviting, but is nearly impossible to sit on. The springs are sticking up into every cushion, creating lumps and uncomfortable poking in every seat. Definitely needs replacing.
Pros: The hot tub was nice, although we couldnât find the floating chlorine holder anywhere. Plenty of dishes and nice counter space in the kitchen. Laundry area is nice a spacious (doubles as 2nd bathroom). Our 10 yr old gymnast daughter loved the spiral staircase, which she used as a climbing gym. NOTE: she fit very easily between the bars, which wouldâve made me nervous if we had small children.
Overall, the house worked for our needs and was a in good location for exploring Mt Hood, Portland, and the White Salmon River. But it could be better with some updates.
