➨ THINGS TO KNOW: Neighbors on both sides are full-time residents and have multiple dogs. The backyard canal access is shallow and may have some local wildlife present. The HOA pool is located in the Harbour, 1.3 miles away—please review the rules. All Dare County public beach accesses are free of charge, and the closest one is 3.8 miles away, with a convenient bike path running alongside the road. Stay alert for rip current warnings, beach flags, and other weather-related alerts. Be cautious when walking barefoot, as there may be sand spurs in the yard. Landscaping is maintained on a biweekly schedule, so please excuse any noise during those times. The Outer Banks is home to palmetto bugs, which look like roaches but are completely harmless, and midge bugs, which resemble mosquitoes but don’t bite. For fun things to do, places to visit, and restaurant recommendations, try asking ChatGPT! $250 refundable security deposit applies to certain bookings (direct, VRBO).

✔︎ HOUSE RULES: Please follow town's quiet hours: 9 PM to 7 AM. The home is for registered guests only—no additional visitors or overnight guests are allowed. Parties, drugs, drama, smoking, vaping, and any form of weed use are strictly prohibited. The property has a sensitive septic system, so please do not flush anything labeled “flushable.” Be sure to rinse sand off your feet before coming inside. No open flames, including candles, are allowed inside the house. Please clean the grill after each use and report any damages as soon as they happen. Trash bins must be rolled to the street on Monday and Thursday mornings—thank you!

✔︎ PET RULES: One well-behaved, low- or non-shedding dog is allowed (sorry, no cats), and a non-refundable pet fee applies per stay. Please note: both neighbors have multiple dogs, the yard is not fenced, there is direct water access, and the front yard is near a busy road—so for your pet’s safety, dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. No free roaming is allowed. Please bring your own pet supplies, and be sure to clean your dog’s paws before coming inside to avoid tracking in sand or dirt. Dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture, and house towels should not be used for pet needs. If you plan to leave your dog alone, they must be crated. Pets are not permitted in the hot tub under any circumstances. Always pick up after your dog, keep them leashed, and do your best to prevent any pet-related damage—report any accidents right away. Extra cleaning or damage may result in additional charges.

✔︎ COMMUNITY POOL INSTRUCTIONS: The community pool is located at 1000 Colington Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948, and is open from late May through early September, with hours from 8 AM to 6 PM. At the Colington Harbour gate, let them know the address of the home you’re staying at. You’ll need to give the same address at the pool check-in desk. Everyone in your group will receive a wristband with a $2 refundable deposit, which is valid for your entire stay—just return it at the end to get your deposit back. Please be sure to follow all association pool rules during your visit. You're also welcome to enjoy the nearby sound access, beach area, and playground.

✔︎ HOT TUB RULES: The hot tub is open year-round, accommodates up to four people, and is cleaned and chemically checked between each stay. Children under 16 must be supervised at all times, and pets are not allowed in the hot tub. For your safety, do not use the hot tub while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or certain medications. Avoid use if you are sick, pregnant, or have any health concerns. Always rinse sand off your feet before entering the house. Do not use the hot tub if the temperature exceeds 104°F, and limit soak time to 15–20 minutes to prevent overheating. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, turn off the jets and exit the hot tub immediately. No diving, jumping, or rough play is allowed. Please do not use soap, bubbles, or any bath products in the hot tub. Be sure to close and secure the cover after each use.

✔︎ CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS: Please check out no later than 10 AM. Before you leave, strip the beds and place all used linens and towels in a pile. Gather all trash into the main house trash can and wash any used dishes. If you used the grill, make sure to clean it. Don’t forget to log out of any personal apps on the TV. Turn off all appliances and lights, and be sure to lock the door. If you brought a dog, please check the yard for any waste. Send us a message as soon as you depart.
