Tucked away on legendary Studio Road, this 4-acre hilltop escape blends Hollywood history, music legacy, and natural beauty into one unforgettable retreat. Once a backdrop for classic Westerns and later a sanctuary for iconic songwriters, this peaceful hideaway features sweeping rock views, wraparound decks, and creative energy in every corner. With a sauna, pickleball court, jacuzzi, gym, and outdoor pizza oven, this nature-rich retreat is the perfect place to reset, create, and reconnect.
THE SPACE:
Retreat to the Rocks is a peaceful and private hillside property located along Studio Road, a once-famous stretch of land used by film studios for its dramatic rock formations and sweeping canyon views. Over the years, the home has hosted productions including Western films and even an episode of Star Trek. Decades later, it became a quiet escape for music industry legends, including the use of a piano still in the home today by acclaimed producer Patrick Leonard.
The main house is a 3,169 square foot log cabin with three bedrooms upstairs and two full bathrooms. The primary bedroom has a California King bed. The second guest bedroom features a King, and the third offers a Queen. Thereâs also a railroad-style sitting room outside the primary with a plush daybed that comfortably sleeps one more guest.
The heart of the home is the open-concept kitchen and living space. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, toaster, and all the cookware you need to make group meals. Thereâs a large indoor dining table for shared meals, and a cozy living area with a pellet stove for chillier nights.
Downstairs, you`ll find a private gym complete with a Peloton bike, treadmill, free weights, and other equipment perfect for staying active without ever leaving the property. Just steps away is a poolside lounge space and access to the spa area, including a large jacuzzi, a dry sauna, an outdoor shower, and a cabana.
The outdoor space is where this home truly shines. Railroad-tie paths wind throughout the 4-acre property, guiding you to sunset picnic tables, stargazing decks, and quiet places to write, relax, or meditate. There`s a fully built pickleball court, a professional-grade pizza oven, propane and Traeger BBQs, a backyard dining area, and seating nooks around every corner.
Youâll also find a telescope deck for stargazing, a porch swing to enjoy the quiet mornings, and an old Ford truck and camper van that add to the rustic charm and provide fun backdrops for group photos.

- Please note that in the State of CA, guests staying over 30 nights are legally required to sign a legal CAR form with the DRE. Our Broker of Record will send you this CAR form for signature once payment is made. Your reservation will be considered ready to go once the form is signed!
- Damages and/or failure to pick up after your pet may result in additional charges at check-out. Pets and animals are not permitted at the property at any time whatsoever unless otherwise agreed upon in writing prior to booking. Failure to comply with this will result in an additional charge of up to $1000 and/or eviction without limiting any other legal or equitable remedies available to Owner and/or Company.
- For any items left behind after check-out, guests will be charged the shipping costs and an additional service fee of $25.
- A minimum of $25 will be charged per lost or unreturned keys, fobs, or access cards. Please ensure they are returned before check-out.
- Please note that this is a non-smoking property. Any violation of the no-smoking policy will result in a $250 fine.
- Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. Please be mindful of the noise level during these hours to respect neighbors and others in the area.
- Guests are responsible for any damage to the property or its contents during their stay. Any damages must be reported immediately to the host to ensure proper documentation.
- Please dispose of all trash in the designated bins provided. If the trash bins are full, please notify the host for further instructions.
- Any unregistered guests are not allowed to stay overnight without prior written approval from the host. Additional guests may result in an additional charge.
