We had a wonderful stay! The house was exactly as advertised—very clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked. The bedrooms were beautiful, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed.There was so much space to enjoy, with several living areas, a large dining room table, and a pool table that was a lot of fun. The outdoor area was especially lovely and spacious—a great place to relax and spend time together.The location was also convenient to Carlisle, which is such a cute college town with plenty to explore. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back! Kay was a great communicator, made everything easy!

We had 7 people there for 3 days. More than enough space for everyone, 2 living rooms on main floor, big kitchen and bathrooms on each of 3 levels Very big property also. Scenery outside beautiful. Booking, check in and check out was easy. Very reasonably priced.

Rural Tranquility

This home is in a positively charming spot. Down the road from an old mill, along a creek. It has lovely grounds and was a wonderful spot for my brothers and I to reconnect while we visited family in the area.

I can’t say enough about the property or the owners. The property is impeccable and completely equipped, we enjoyed the patio and grill and even did some fishing in the stream. Very quiet with an abundance of wildlife but minutes from stores. The whole house is updated with modern baths and kitchen with 2 fridges. Check in was easy, great communication, just really a perfect stay. We will definitely be back, we rented during a Carlisle event and it’s a short 15 minute drive.

We had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous home during our daughter’s graduation weekend. We had seven adults and there was so much extra room for more--we didn't even use one of the bedrooms. The house was incredibly clean, neat and decorated beautifully.We loved the peaceful setting and seeing wildlife throughout the weekend — deer, ducks, beautiful birds, and even a cute little groundhog. The property felt very private and serene. There is a lovely outdoor seating area with a fire pit we didn't get a chance to use due to several days of rain.Inside, the home had plenty of room for everyone to gather and spread out comfortably. The two large dining areas and two spacious sitting rooms were perfect for our family, and the basement pool table was a fun bonus. The beds were super comfortable, and the kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed. Check-in was easy, Kay was so delightful, prompt and helpful throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others visiting the area!

Quiet upscale perfection! This gorgeous home was a perfect retreat spot for a small group of friends. There was plenty of comfortable space for us to relax, chat, cook, play games, and reflect as we sat by the fire. Every little detail has been considered to make your stay more comfortable; throw blankets to cuddle with, a full spice rack for cooking, and dry wood to build your outdoor fire. There are plenty of USB ports in each room to charge your electronics, high quality sheets and pillows, as well as personal care products in each bathroom. Just pack some comfy clothes, grab a good book, and order a few groceries... then step away from your life for a bit on this gorgeous piece of land. The host was very communicative and gracious. Highly recommend all around!

My family of 10 (9 adults and one toddler) was in the area to attend a family wedding and this property more than met our needs. The house was clean and had ample space for everyone to gather for meals and socialize. The bedrooms were roomy and nicely appointed. Bathrooms were well stocked with towels and other essentials. The outdoor space was quiet and we enjoyed the patio and firepit in the evenings. Our host Kay was readily available for any questions we had. Thank you sharing such a lovely home!

The House at Cool Springs was absolutely perfect for us. We had our kids and their families there so we could go to a family wedding in the area. The house is beautiful, very clean, and just as described. It is big enough to be together and also laid out so you can have some privacy as well. All of our kids mentioned how perfect the place was for us to be together. Kay was a gracious host and quick to answer. Thank you so much Kay for making our family wedding weekend even better! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Stellar experience. Thanks from the whole family.

This home was immaculate, comfortable, and well-appointed with beautiful nature around it. The beds and linens were very comfortable, and we enjoyed mornings and evenings chatting in the Adirondack chairs in the back yard watching the ducks and chipmunks (we also saw a family of geese, a groundhog, and a deer). We would stay here again if we traveled back as a group for alumni events (Dickinson College is an easy 20 min drive). Thank you!

My husband and I love to stay at guest houses when we travel. When this property became available, we knew it would be the perfect spot for people to relax, unwind and enjoy nature. We have attempted to create a place of peace and calm for you and your friends.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We chose this property because of its seclusion, the lovely creek and the abundance of waterfowl and wildlife. Also the close proximity to a small town, is helpful.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

If your idea of vacation is simply to relax, we've got you covered. From grilling & dining on the patio while watching the waterfowl on the creek, to resting in the hammock, to walking the long lane onto the private road that spills back into Newville, you can relax, out of the public's eye. A small peninsula on the property allows you a wonderful vantage point to watch the waterfowl on their terms in their habitat! If you're feeling adventurous, you can fish at the popular trout fishing spot, Laughlin Mill itself, or...wheel your car down the winding roads that follow Big Spring Creek to any of the number of fishing spots created for the public. If you need to stretch your legs, a trailhead for Rails To Trails is only 5 min. away on the southwest edge of town. 10 min. north or south on 233 puts you in either Tuscarora State Forest or Michaux State Forest, both of which will provide you an endless network of hiking trails. Roll east into Carlisle (car show mecca) & stroll streets lined w/ casual or fine dining experiences & curiosity shops. After all that, return to the House at Cool Springs to unwind!
