Tucked at the base of Rabbit Ears Pass and just 30 minutes from Steamboat Springs, the Trapper Cabin is a cozy studio retreat with big views and a peaceful feel. Restored from a 1920s cabin, it blends vintage character with simple comforts. Ideal for couples, solo travelers, or small families, itâs the perfect place to unwind after a day on the trail, lake, or slopes.

The Trapper Cabin is a lovingly restored 1920s studio set on 20 private acres at Rabbit Ears Basecamp. Itâs quiet, cozy, and full of character, with mountain views and a porch made for slow mornings or sunset sitting.
Inside, youâll find a queen bed, a twin foldout couch, and a full kitchen stocked for simple meals. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, and the open layout makes the space feel easy and bright.
Whether you're hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, or just soaking in the silence, Trapper Cabin offers a calm home base close to everything but tucked away from it all. Guests also have access to the Hitchinâ Post clubhouse, where you can soak in the shared hot tub, play a round of pool, or just warm up by the fire.

When we had the chance to build something lasting here, we knew we wanted to create a place for families, friends, and outdoor lovers to reconnect with nature and each other. The Trapper Cabin was one of the first pieces of that vision. Itâs now part of a small collection of unique stays at Rabbit Ears Basecamp, where the wide-open skies and quiet trails invite you to slow down and stay wild.
