Summary:
Stonehaven on the Delaware, just 2 hours from NYC, is a charming 3 bed, 2 bath, 2 powder room home with access to the Delaware River and Narrow Falls Brook. This beautiful bluestone built property boasts 1000 feet of river frontage, expansive windows throughout offering stunning views, laptop friendly workspaces, fireplaces, TVs, a gazebo and patio with outdoor furniture and a new sauna.
Nearby towns: Narrowsburg (10mins), Bethel (25mins), Callicoon (25mins), Jeffersonville (30mins)
The Space:
Stonehaven on the Delaware is a breathtaking property with a rare English Tudor-style design presenting unparalleled views of the Delaware River and the forests of the Western Catskills and Pocono Mountains. Built in the 1930s using local bluestone, the property boasts 1000 feet of river frontage.
Upon entering, to the left is a spectacular great room with a vaulted ceiling, large stone fireplace and a 14-foot floor-to-ceiling window offering stunning views of the mountains and Delaware River. The room is furnished with two brown leather sofas plus matching armchair, TV, two grey single-seaters and a wooden coffee table. It features a built-in library bookcase, laptop friendly work area, Steinway baby-grand piano, Martin acoustic guitar and a carefully curated vinyl record collection.
A door leads into a country kitchen decorated with hand-painted tiles featuring white cabinets with brass handles, a walnut butcher block countertop, breakfast island and stainless steel appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining area with a vintage display cabinet and a large dining table perfectly positioned to enjoy panoramic views as you dine. There is a powder room located both inside and outside the home.
To the right of the entrance is the first guest bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a walk in shower. Both guest bedrooms have two queen sized beds, TVs, large windows with lovely views complemented by elegant wooden furniture. The second guest bedroom has a workspace area. The master bedroom presents a king sized bed, TV, fireplace, large windows and French doors that open to the stone patio. The master bedroom and the second guest bedroom are to the left of the living room and share a bathroom which has a tub and shower combination.
For remote work, the home is equipped with fast fiber internet and a home office setup. A home generator ensures continuous power, and a brand-new central A/C and heat pump system keeps the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
There is a spacious open-air bluestone patio with elegant black metal dining tables, lounge chairs, and a BBQ grill. The gazebo and nearby Breeo firepit with Adirondack chairs offer views of the riverâthe perfect spots to sit and enjoy the scenery. Guests can fish in the river or take a swim with the provided life jackets.
For ultimate relaxation, a new sauna has been added, providing a warm retreat after a day outdoors. Set in a picturesque and serene setting, Stonehaven on the Delaware is designed for relaxation and enjoying the natural beauty, ideal for those who appreciate rustic elegance and seclusion.
The Neighborhood:
Sullivan county, located in the Catskills, offers a mix of outdoor adventures, small town charm, natural beauty, rich history and cultural heritage. The area provides endless opportunities for hiking, fishing, boating, and winter sports. Whether you're seeking outdoor exploration, relaxation or a taste of local culture, Stonehaven on the Delaware is ideal for those who appreciate nature and a laid-back lifestyle.
A short walk down the hill from the property leads to a wide, flat riverbank with 1000 feet of frontage along the Upper Delaware River, part of the National Park Service. This section of the river is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, offering some of the best fishing in the Northeast, along with kayaking, boating, and exploring its smooth waters or stony rapids.
The charming town of Narrowsburg, named one of Travel & Leisureâs "10 Best Small Towns to Spend a Summer Vacation," is just a 10-minute drive away. There, you'll find excellent restaurants, a wine bar, a brewery, coffee shops, boutiques, antique stores, art galleries, and a well-curated bookstore. The nearby towns of Barryville, Eldred, and Callicoon offer more dining, shopping, and art experiences. For music lovers, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, site of the historic 1969 Woodstock Music Festival, is just a half-hour drive away. Golfers can enjoy the 18-hole, par-72 Woodloch Pines Golf Course, and spa enthusiasts can unwind at the Lodge at Woodloch, both just 30 minutes away in Pennsylvania. Families can also reserve spots for summer day camp at Camp White Stag in neighboring PA.
In addition, there is a list of amazing recommendations at the property for you to thoroughly enjoy your stay!
Getting Around:
Stonehaven on the Delaware is just 2 hours from New York City. A car is essential for getting there and exploring the area. The main access routes are the NJ-15 S, US-206 and I-78 E. Public transportation is available in nearby Port Jervis (30 minutes away), where both the Short Line bus from Port Authority and the NJ Transit train from Penn Station stop. We strongly recommend a 4x4 or a car with four-wheel drive, especially in winter, to handle snow and gravel roads.
