Cozy cottage

This place was spectacular. Cozy place. Good location. Great walking area. The beach was about a mile away. Saw Cascade waterfalls. Not too busy this time of the year. The owner was easy to get in touch with. Only negative was living room sofa was not that comfy. So could not appreciate the fireplace ambiance so much. But that is minute. Would love to come back

Great relaxing & fun weekend

The cottage was great & had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The property was beautiful right on the river with seats to enjoy the view & fire pit. Will definitely stay again.

Annual Maine get-away

We have been going back to the cottage for 5+ years. We always look forward to the trip. The dock for fishing and the pool are a huge hit for the kids.

Peaceful and relaxing

This place was a great find. The cottage was cute and the view overlooking the river was so peaceful and relaxing. The surrounding neighbors from the other cabins were friendly and kind. We would definitely book again.

Lovely stay

Cute Cottage

We loved the quiet location of this cute little cottage. It was the perfect location to easily get to Old Orchard Beach and Portland. This place would be great for a small family looking for a summer place with the pool and access to the river.

Cottage on the river

Peaceful

Friendly neighbors, inground pool wonderful and the views of the bay and sunsets are amazing. Easy access to local events. The cabin was very clean with all the things you need to make your vacation a pleasant one.

Lovely spot

The location is lovely. Michael and Patricia were helpful with details and flexible with arrival time which was much appreciated. There was some confusion on our part about cleaning the cabin before we left and we were unable to contact our hosts about what was expected. Would be happy to share specifics with Michael. Wonderful time in Maine

Our group of four really enjoyed our stay in Mike’s Saco cottage. The location was great for visiting other POIs and it was a very peaceful setting. Sitting by the river in early evening was so nice. The cottage was well equipped with basic condiments and plenty of cookware. The kids loved the pool, practically had it to themselves. Great time of year for visit to Maine. Loved it!

The perfect Maine getaway spot

We have been coming to Maine for many years now and the cottage always feels a little like coming home. It’s a beautiful vacation getaway, butting up to the Saco River. We have coffee out by the river every morning. It’s so peaceful and yet just minutes away from so many attractions. Mike is always just a text away and has always taken care of our every need. We hope to stay here for years to come.

Comfortable cottage, nice setting

The cottage was good for the two of us and was quiet and safe. We’ll equipped, even for lobster. We had local market steam lobster ($9.95!) and ate each night. Unfortunately, we had rain and cold so couldn’t enjoy the area as we had hoped. However, Netflix, Prime, HULU are all available so we caught up with shows in the evenings.

Short stay in Saco

Our stay here was quite short. This place is great for a couple. But I felt it was cramped for more than two people. There was definitely a lot of clutter around the house. Some cooking pans felt greasy, like they were not cleaned well. It rained a lot while we were there so we were not able to make use of the amenities, but I am sure they are great!

A clean, cozy, coastal retreat

Mike's cottage is just as described, though I can't recall if he mentioned the 3 TVs, in the main area and each of the two bedrooms. But who wants to watch TV when the setting is on the beautiful, tidal Saco River, only a mile or so from the Atlantic Ocean? Or when nice beaches are so close, even within walking distance? My only caution is to be ready for heavy traffic on Rt. 1, but once you get on the ocean side of Rt. 1 (where the cottage is) you can find all the beaches, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. you'll need for a peaceful, very enjoyable stay. (Not to mention the excellent on-site pool.) Bring your fishing pole, too -- we saw many lunkers jumping out in the river, and folks spin, fly and bait fishing from shore. The dock makes it easy to get your line out into the water. A nearby store can provide bait and local knowledge. Portland and the Kennebunks are only about a half hour away. We're hoping to return for a longer stay.

We live in upstate NY but fell in love with Maine's people and beauty. We have to keep working for quite a few more years (hoping to win the lottery)- so we rent year round. We take pride in our property and are responsive to any of our renters needs. We ask that you leave our home in the clean condition that you found it in, so all tenants can enjoy. Our property is fully furnished and has all the amenities of home!

Saco River has some great Striper fishing. Other things to catch are squid, Pollock, mackerel, eels, and blue fin tuna. Sea Duck hunting in the fall/early winter. Our try for some puddle ducks on the river.
