Welcome to Sunshine Haven at Sunset Lake, a beautiful lakeside retreat managed by My Favorite Home Away From Home, offering everything you need for a perfect getaway. This spacious home sits on the tranquil shores of Sunset Lake, a private, spring-fed, sand-bottom lake thatâs ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, and more. With your own private beach, you have direct access to the water for endless relaxation and outdoor adventures.
The 2,800 sq ft home features 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms that comfortably sleeps up to 20 guests. Two large living areas, a back porch, walkout basement and a patio with a firepit area provide plenty of space for groups to spread out and unwind. Whether you're lounging indoors, enjoying the serene views on the porch, spending time on the beach or in the lake, or gathering around the outdoor firepit, there's a place for everyone to relax and connect.
Inside, you'll find TVs in 4 bedrooms and both living areas with Roku TV streaming services accessible via guest accounts. Guests can also enjoy an air hockey table, basketball arcade, giant connect four, corn hole, board games and various puzzle books and coloring pages (for both kids and adults) located in the basement game area.
The fully equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing meals with pots, and pans, bakeware, a Keurig/Kraft coffee machine (BYO K-cups, grounds provided), toaster, teapot with tea, air fryer, a selection of spices, tumblers, wine and champagne glasses, coffee mugs, various cooking utensils and tools, flatware and table settings for 20 guests.
Outdoors, relax around the patio and firepit area (BYO firewood) or prepare a delicious meal on the gas grill (propane provided). Guests can play a game of cornhole or GoSport ring swing, lounge or enjoy a meal on the large porch and explore the private sandy beach or the water with the 2 kayaks on property. Beach towels and outdoor chairs will also be provided for your enjoyment.
The property is also fully equipped with modern amenities including high-speed fiber optic internet, electric appliances and a full sized washer and dryer. Whether you're streaming your favorite shows or simply relaxing by the lake, youâll have all the comforts of home.
There are 6 total parking spaces for you and your guests (2 garage and 4 driveway). No campers or vehicles with any sleeping capacity will be allowed on property, however tents are welcome.
While the estate offers plenty of outdoor space to explore, it does not have dedicated trails for ATVs or snowmobiles. Guests are encouraged to use nearby public trails or roads that permit such activities. The surrounding properties are private and do not allow ATV or snowmobile access. Please refer to the county website for trail locations, and your cooperation with these guidelines is greatly appreciated.

Doggies are welcome, so your furry friends can enjoy the adventure too! We have a per stay charge of $125 per approved pet, with a maximum of 2 dogs allowed. The location is also perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with Castle Rock Lakeâa 17,000-acre boating and fishing paradiseâjust a short drive away. Located just 10 minutes off I-90/94 on the gold coast of Castle Rock Lake, Sunshine Haven offers a peaceful, private retreat with easy access to everything the area has to offer. Whether you're here for watersports, fishing, or simply to escape, this is the perfect spot to create memories with loved ones.

Guests will be sent a code 24 hours before your stay. This will allow entrance through the automated lock on the front door.
Other things to note
The Sunshine Haven at Sunset Lake property is located in an area that is currently under construction. As of now, there is unfinished construction around the property.
No fireworks on the property.
Quiet hours are from 10 PM-8 AM. There are other homes in the area, so please be respectful of your neighbors.
Streaming services are available with guestsâ account(s).
We have one outdoor security camera mounted by the front access door.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting 'Yes' to pets. This fee is $125 for your entire stay. If you would like to add an additional dog, please contact us. There is a limit of 2 dogs per stay. The $125 pet fee will apply for the additional dog, if approved, and will be sent as a separate invoice. Please make sure to clean up after your pets.
If your group has over 15 people, you need the manager's approval for your stay. The cost is $25 per guest per night over 15 if approved. We do have other properties close by that can host larger groups, or, multiple properties can be rented if available. We do allow group gatherings with host approval such birthdays, reunions, and other small events.
Parking notes: There is free parking for 6 vehicles. 2 in the garage Four in the driveway. No vehicles with any sleeping capacity are allowed, however tents are welcomed.
**Important:** We prioritize the protection of our properties and staying compliant with short-term rental regulations. To ensure this, we require all guests to complete a verification process. Before your stay begins, youâll need to verify your details through our trusted third-party partner, Truvi, which includes submitting a photo ID and a selfie.
For your peace of mind, we purchase a damage waiver on your behalf at no cost to you. This waiver safeguards you and your group against accidental damage during your stay, helping us maintain our property in excellent condition. If any damage occurs, thereâs no need to worryâjust inform us so we can ensure the next guest enjoys the same great experience.
We recommend completing the ID verification process and waiver at least 72 hours before check-in to avoid any check-in delays.
