Härlig lägenhet på första våningen i Historic Canal House, Jordaan, Centre, Amsterdam

Mysig lägenhet med 1 sovrum i ett historiskt kanalhus i ett lugnt och mycket populärt bostadsområde på Amsterdam-stadsön "Prinseneiland". Ön är som en gammaldags by i centrum av Amsterdam och är bebodd av en trevlig blandning av konstnärer, expat och traditionella Amsterdambor, nära kanalerna och de viktigaste stadens attraktioner.

Lägenheten har en mycket fin känsla med en "autentisk" stil, ett öppet, fullt utrustat kök i vardagsrummet, ett privat badrum med dusch, trådlöst internet, en TV med internationella kanaler och naturligtvis en kaffebryggare. I sovrummet finns en dubbelsäng och i vardagsrummet finns en soffa som också kan göras till en bekväm dubbelsäng, om du vill sova separat. (kostnader för extra sänglinne är 10 euro). Bokning är för max 2 gäster!

Grannskapet är idealiskt beläget på cirka 10 minuters gångavstånd från det livliga stadskärnan med massor av restauranger och butiker, Ann Frank House, Central Railway Station, Red Light District, Dam Square och Westerpark och 3 trevliga marknader på måndagar ( konst och hantverk-), onsdagar (ekologiskt) och lördagar (bönder-).

This apartment is in a perfect location with easy access to the bus and tram. Grocery store and restaurants are near by. The apartment is a very comfortable with a separate bedroom and a sofa that opens to a bed. The host met us and personally walked us through a map of Amsterdam.Would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Amsterdam

We had a lovely 4 night stay in Emmy's apartment. Everything was as described in the listing. Location was perfect with easy access to Amsterdam highlights by foot or public transportation. Would definitely stay again.

This is our second stay here and it’s perfect! Quiet neighborhood just a short walk to everything you want in the center without all the noise and drunks. Emmy was great as we had some last minute arrival scheduling problems on our end and she made it work. We love her and this fabulous apartment.

Very good communication with the owner for check in. Located in a quiet part of town, which is great if that’s what you want. Have Google maps ready because with all the canals -directions can be a challenge. But that’s to be expected. It is the city of canals! There is a small refrigerator, but no freezer. public transportation is a seven minute walk to a bus or tram. So if you are a taxi or Uber person, this probably isn’t the place for you. And some of the reviews I read there is a complaint about the truly very very steep stairwell to get up to the apartment. Yes, I do agree that should be disclosed so I am sharing a picture. But keep in mind this is an authentic building and an authentic neighborhood. You’re not in your homeland. So you should expect things to be a little different. Maybe this is an original stairwell and to them in the Netherlands it’s “normal “. But if you were elderly or have massive amounts of luggage and weak; this might not be the place for you. We enjoyed the authenticity of it. Nice bathroom and basic kitchen so it’s not a place you’re gonna cook gourmet meals. There are great little restaurants within a five minute walk. And the grocery store is 7 to 10 minute walk. Enjoy the authenticity of having the opportunity to “live”in a unique part of the world. It is special-we would definitely return.

Stairwell -remember this is an authentic house typical of the neighborhood and the country. Embrace it. 😃

Place was within an easy bus ride of Central Station and even a walkable distance.Emmy gave us great directions and was there greet us and help us get our luggage up the very steep stairs.We loved the neighborhood- very quiet and felt like locals. Emmy had lots of suggestions for groceries, cafes and pubs. 5 minute walk to Haarlemmerplein Square which has lots of stores and bus/tram connections.Only minor complaint is no a/c and was very warm in the apartment.

Emmy is a delight

Emmy’s 1st floor (which means upstairs in Europe) met our needs and enabled us to walk to most things of interest. It is on a nice quiet street in a quiet neighborhood. Emmy kindly pointed out where to find what and how to operate various things in the apartment. The layout required going through the bathroom to access the bedroom, which meant privacy had to be pre-arranged. The afore-mentioned stairs were tricky for the eldest guest, but Emmy was helpful in getting the bags up and down. We very much enjoyed our stay.

séjour à Amsterdam

Emmy était la pour nous accueillir et nous à laisser mettre les bagages au couloir car l 'heure d'arrivée est 12h30.des parapluies sont à l'entrée s'il pleut. Appartement coquet petit mais confortable. Proche du centre et de la gare centrale avec un arrêt de bus pas trop loin.Le quartier est très calme. j'ai moins aimé ;Les escaliers sont très raides et le robinet de la salle de bain qui ne coule pas beaucoup.douche glissante il manque un tapis antidérapant. pas de clé pour fermer l'appartement on ne peux fermer que la porte de la salle à manger.Nous avons passés un très bon séjour.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour dans l'appartement d'Emy. A la fois proche du centre mais à l'écart de l'effervescence du centre ville. Tout est facilement accessible grâce aux transports qui passent au bout de l'île. De nombreux sites sont accessibles en une trentaine de minutes à pied. First the place is very clean. The place is about 5 to 10 minutes walk to the center of city. Tons of shopping and restaurants.Second...it says it's on the first floor. In Amsterdam the first floor is actually the second floor. Very steep stairs. If your older this will probably Not workWe had issues with the heat. Emmy kept telling us it was on but it wasn't. After three days she turned it up.

A very pleasant stay

The apartment suited our needs perfectly and we enjoyed an evening walk and a meal in a bar in the local area. Great position for walking in to the centre and a tram back at night.

Jordaan - Great Location

My daughter and I had never been to Amsterdam so we chose well with the location of our apartment - just outside the very busy areas and two bus stops from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Served by trams and buses we easily connected to everywhere and we could walk if we had the energy. The apartment is small but adequate. We could see our street from our canal cruise at one point, so it was an ideal location.

Perfect location! Wonderful host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Emmy’s place in the Jordaan! The apartment had everything that we needed to feel at home for the week. Our friends, who joined us during this vacation, were able to stay in the apartment on the ground floor of her building. So, it was the perfect setup for us. It was close to a bus and tram stop, as well as a grocery store, which made it super convenient. The area is beautiful and our host, Emmy, was kind and helpful! We had a fantastic week being back in the city that had been our home for 5 years!

Great place

Emmy's place was lovely. Plenty of space, lots of sunlight, all the amenities we needed, located an easy walk from the centre of Jordaan. Check-in was seamless and Emmy welcomed us and shared recommendations and directions to local attractions. Would definitely recommend this place to stay. I know others have mentioned the stairs and it's worth mentioning. They get very narrow at the top of the staircase, so going up and down is a bit tricky. But it's not a deal breaker. I'd stay here again :)

Clean an Quiet

The place was very clean and quiet, and within walking distance of the center of Amsterdam. Just be careful about leaving out any food (or chocolates bars in your luggage), as you may get an uninvited guest. For longer stays and those who enjoy making your own meals, the kitchen is very tiny and no "safe" storage for groceries, except the frig.. Overall though, very good. And - the shower is VERY slippery.

Comfy apartment in great location

The apartment was very comfy and had everything we needed. It is in a brilliant location - tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood with bags of character yet a short walk from the main sights. Emmy was welcoming and told us a bit about the area including a great local bar/restaurant ('t Blauhooft) which was friendly and had good food/beer. Highlights of our stay included Keukenhof and the Anne Frank Jewish Quarter Walking Tour. We'd definitely stay here again.

Well located appartement in a house

Appartement located in the center if Amsterdam. Clean but opened during the day. A key is missing to close the entrance door thus everybody can enter in the bathroom and in the bedroom when we are outside. The stair to reach the apartment at the first level is small and dangerous.
